What lovely ideas you shared! I recently joined a walking group that walks for an hour once a week through a lovely ravine where a merry streams hums along beside us. It is home to mallards and turtles and more. We walk over two miles. They are such a lovely group to walk and talk with in a refreshing outdoor setting. Nature, exercise, and friendships --- all FREE --- just show up! They walk all year.
I use dry beans to make Baked Beans. It involves soaking them overnight and then slow cooking them first, but the cost is only fifteen cents per serving. One cup of dry beans expands to make five servings for me.

Thank You so much for explaining the biblical call to contributions. While aware of tithing I never knew all of the details. I keep a financial journal but now I’ve added some prayers as well. The cards with the Bible verses add a wonderful touch to your videos! God Bless!

I never write in books, I respect them too much. Instead, I write page numbers of interesting information on post it’s and stick them on the inside of the book.

I was raised the same way, respect books, take care of books, treasure books……

I was too. But since this was going to be dumped, and I'm the only one using this book, it felt perfectly fine to write in it. When it comes to a non-fiction information book, highlighting, circling is my learning style!

I can see how your perspective of respect reflects a different one than mine and I would like to share. I respect a book by embracing it and all it has for me. This includes highlighting, notating and adding my gratitude for what it offers me. It is such a blessing to see things through different eyes and 'respect' each other! Thank you for helping me see yours!

@@juliejackman6103 College textbooks frequently had marks, but I need an uncluttered textbook for reading, but obviously many, many students didn’t.

@@serenitypeaceandcomfort3669agree with you. I inherited my Mom's Bible when she passed away this year. It was written in by her, highlighted, pages marked, etc. What a treasure! I wouldn't take a million dollars for her Bible. You know the old saying "a Bible that is falling apart probably belongs to someone who isn't ." Once I buy a book I never get rid of it. I love 50 cent thrift store finds.

With those money envelopes, some emergency expense always comes up where you have to empty them all, and then you wonder why you even bothered! 😂😢

Those are my emergency envelopes. I only go to them in a pinch. If I can't get to the bank, for example. I'm pretty good with foreseeing emergencies and avoiding them. 😉The envelopes has worked for me for awhile now. It's very do-able!😊

@@serenitypeaceandcomfort3669 I agree. Most emergencies are foreseeable. The point is to be prepared to avoid stress and debt. If you have to spend then emergency fund is doing its job!
An example to me would be doing the research before buying a car to ensure reliability, durability, longevity and safety. Then doing continual maintenance ie; oil changes, filter changes and replacing fluids & tires as recommended. My mechanic shop would tow it free if it was within a few miles, which is most of my traveling. And, I paid a 30 cents a month on my insurance for towing. So, plan to do your own maintenance or build a relationship with a mechanic shop. I had a Toyota Camry and only paid about $600 in repairs and to be honest I was supposed to replace the timing chain and forgot, my shop would have cost $300, just $600 til it hit almost 200,000 miles. Then after more than 12 years, I had to decide whether to replace it or replace it as my air conditioner broke and would cost $1,000 to replace. I keep the funds to cover my deductible in case of an accident and make repairs.

Hmmm...was that nail polish you used on your purse? I would have never thought of that!!! Thank you for the idea.

Actually it's an acrylic paint for fabrics.Very inexpensive. But the nail polish idea is very interesting in a pinch!
