    I find if I can’t find a solution to a problem or need deeper perspective it often comes in the shower somewhat spontaneously when I am not actually thinking about the problem.

    Well that’s similar to hypertrophy that, as we all know, accrue not in the action, but during the resting phase. Same with problem solving : it seems to resolve after the active “upload part” when brain use its internal rewireing and plasticity protocols to come up with optimal resolution.
