The way Cait leans forward a little to get one last glance of her mom before the casket closes breaks my heart. Also just that shot of her in the intro with the crowned shadow behind her…. Heavy is the crown, be careful what you ask for. A reference to Macbeth also. In fact, there’s a few references in the intro. Jinx with the flag is a reference to Les Mis. Viktor and the mask is Phantom of the Opera. Ambessa on the couch is Julius Caesar. That’s why most of the cast is in simple cloths. They wanted them to kind of feel like they were on a stage, I believe.

I'll clarify without spoilers a point here (because I don't know how far you guy are in at this point). Arcane as a whole is considered canon, specifically the main line story is still canon, but there are 2 stories that happen near the end that are not canon the to the main league universe because of reasons that make themselves pretty clear. That being said, League skins all have their own canon universes (there's one where Jinx is a sailor mon character, and another where she is a space pirate lol) so canon is kinda rough when talking about league. Arcane is kinda its own multiverse variant of the league canon that tries to stick pretty close to the original timeline.

This is completely unrelated but if you didn't know, nearly every main character in Arcane has a dedicated official theme or song written for them in League of Legends. Certain parts of the show actually play them in the background for brief moments. For Ekko it was on the bridge when he's holding off Jinx. Meanwhile, Jinx's song "Get Jinxed" plays in her hideout when she's working on the hextech crystal. And finally, Caitlyn's theme briefly plays in this episode when she takes down the chemtech monstrosity.
I have to leave another comment to scream about this separately I need Linkin Park to give us a full version of Heavy is the Crown from the show. I love the original, it's so hype. But I NEED THAT BADASS GRIT RAAAH

In League Vi has always been portrayed as a Piltover Enforcer, just so you guys know. Also im pretty sure Riot said that Arcane has actually become the new Canon of League of Legends thanks to the tremendous success of the show. Not sure where you guys heard what you claimed about it not being Canon to League. But even if it’s the new Canon that doesn’t mean that they “can’t kill characters that are Champions”, there are playable Champions who are already dead in the Lore…. Like Azir.
It’s funny that you say that Vi being an enforcer seems to be antithetical to her character because in League Vi is a character that basically got so fed up with putting up with police brutality that she ends up joining the enforcers and becoming known for her police brutality.😅 She is the epitome of become what you hate.
