How great. The start feels crowded, indiscernible from moving machinery or living flock moving around; coral. Then a terrible racheting: like an ignition of an engine. The follow-up really makes it come to my mind, a sound of a heartbeat. A living machine?
You made the prelude soundtrack sound good. I wonder if it was in purpose of yours to paint such an image in our heads.
well, what is left of walter is basically... hooked up to the AC, he's the machine now, and the machine is him. arquebus destroyd him beyond salvation. he's just alive because the very thing he was wishing to destroy is now pumping through what is left of his body, as arquebus uses him to remove us from the game.
im pretty sure by that point Walter was already too far gone, he knows he's being used by arquebus, and he knows he cant stop you from not burning the coral, so he just opts to stay still. his last act of defiance against arquebus and may be a show to 621 that, if he cant have his duty accomplished, Walter will die by what he believes. god willing, may be he is wrong, coral might not destroy the galaxy, as he thought it would. only the future will tell. but one thing's for sure, if does not pan out as positively as Ayre convinced you it would have been, Walter warned you.
i think walter's also scared of coral because of his past, he lost his family to coral, he lost his home, i imagine he lost friends, a future? where it had nothing to do with coral, but the obsession of mankind caused coral release. and if you think, that 621 not burning the coral, would stop corporations from trying to acquire coral and repeat the previous catastrophe, you're too naive. burning the coral is cruel, unfathomable, billions of lives both human, coral, natural species, ecosystems, planets that had nothing to do with this. all of them, burned. just to stop the never ending hunger of mankind for power. all of that weight, all of that unthinkable guilt, on the shoulders of walter, and you, if you choose to burn it all. egotistical? selfish? i cant even start to comprehend the amount of gut it takes for someone to come to terms with the fact that they'll be the murderer of billions. trillions.
the impossibility of it all, would probably drive anyone in 621's place insane. or overwhelmingly depressed. good thing 621 cant exactly feel anything, or express anything, thanks to their Coral augmentation severily crippling their brain.
