@@asmoss4734 yes, I've noticed that many mothers adore babying their sons and treating them like inept, incompetent children that can't do the most basic of tasks. @@MHGKarma I would just like to point out that OCD isn’t logical - it is an illness and it warps your thinking. Those other options may not be viewed as ‘safe’ by someone with OCD, and it is very difficult to change your ways. Of course I agree the waste and environmental impact of some of these behaviours isn’t great, it would be something that a person with OCD would need to really work at and most likely have serious therapy to address in order to change some of these habits. It isn’t a simple issue, but these people don’t need to be judged as selfish and their actions inexcusable when they are struggling everyday with an internal battle and just doing what they can. Also the individual impact of these few obsessive people pales in comparison to the environmental impact of industries, especially the textile sector. Yes individuals can try to address their own impact, but I’m sick of the blame being put on the individual instead of the large companies that create the bulk of our waste and actually have the money to implement large scale change. Anyway, sorry this turned into two rants, just wanted to encourage some empathy for these human beings who aren’t perfect but doing their best. Hope you have a lovely day 😊
Usually when the cleaners come in and judge the homeowners I feel bad because it’s clear they have mental issues. But when Lynn chewed out the bachelors… I cheered. They aren’t hoarders, they’re just nasty.
Even Mark looked clean and tidy in the end; Lynn did a great job. Hoarders are never completely cured; I lived with a hoarder husband for over 40 years, and although I'm not as compulsive as Lynn and Claire, I hate clutter and like to have my home immaculate and everything in place.
I don't think Mark was a hoarder though; it was too easy for him to get rid of things. In this case, I think it was a mix of time, possibly being burnt out/depressed, and never having learnt good habits. Men at his age was not taught to clean in the same way as women were, and if you have no time, and no skills/experience, it seems like an impossible task. I really hope they kept it up, and improved their lives; maybe even found a woman to nag him just a little. ;)
If she even has a husband. Whowould like to live with her. She's just the other extreme of the hoarders. With her throwing out the small very dirty ( why does she not clean that in stead of throwing it out when it's dirty? ) oven because she does not want to use her proper oven? That is just as weird as what the hoarders do? Why are people even watching this rubbish, because you know it's being created for people to be abhorred by one side or the other? To be perfectly honest, I would rather have to do with a hoarder than this finicky nitpicky cleaner. Yikes.
I know, right? Besides that's not the right way to clean the fridge. You got to shut it down, remove all the food, to melt the frost, remove the shelves and clean all the shelves in the sink or the bath with simple dishwashing liquid. Same with the inside walls. Twice a month tops. There is absolutely no need to cure your food in chlorine gas every day.
The laziness of many men in and outside of relationships regarding domestic cores and child raising is just crazy. No wonder so many relationships fail. It's like you have a(nother) child to take care of. I actually think it's disgusting. No surprise many women then finally prefer to stay alone or even be a single parent.
It’s to do with someone’s character. A lazy person is a lazy person no matter if it’s a man or woman I’ve met both men and women which are lazy and bad parenting is sometimes to blame. I’ve had many friends who have a house cleaner “mother” which were too lenient and didn’t force their children to contribute. No sense of responsibility
Wow, what a bigot you are, some strong sexism going on there, I’ve known plenty of lazy women in my life, coming from a family of all of five brothers, myself being male, we are all hard workers and are very clean when it comes to our homes. It’s based on the character and not the sex of the person
+Chris Yeah but I bet those lazy women don't say things like 'I think it's the men's job to clean' or 'our house is messy because we bachelorette's ...we need two or three men around here'. Laziness on it's own is one thing but when certain people of one gender just expects the other to do their work for them (like Mark and Carl) then the problem becomes closer to entitlement and sexism than laziness.
And this is the comment I came searching for😅😅😅😅 Who does he think he is fooling with a floor full of tissues looking like sad coronation flower heads. Less ham shank and more elbow grease mi'Laddo.
I have OCD and grew up in a hoarder’s house. It either manifests as the need to be neat and get things done or the feeling you need objects around to be valuable, or that you don’t deserve clean/ nice good things and kind people as partners in my case. Cleaning up literally feels like something I don’t deserve that I will be punished for, that will threaten my life. Imagine walking down a narrow lane at midnight where you see muggers and r@pists lurking. That sensation of dread and fear is what I get when I try to clean, better myself in any way or have a romantic relationship with a non bully. I simply feel it’s wrong and I shouldn’t be doing it, that I am genuinely in danger. I choose to have my home clean, my body clean, brush my teeth, have a clean bed, make sure my childrens beds are clean, hair brushed etc. all things that weren’t done for me in childhood. I was convinced by parents i was worthless. I am 38 and I have recently cut those toxic individuals out of my life.
1:25 you love to clean but you throw out a mini oven every couple of months and buy a new one? I don't understand that. Why not just have one oven and clean it regularly? I'm astonished.
To be honest though separate beds would solve that issue. Both beds could be in the same room if she wanted to sleep nearby to her partner - doesn't have to be an issue. She seemed like a really lovely lady - just holding herself (and by extension her house) to impossible standards.

Nobody should ever be shamed because of their issues with hoarding or OCD. Both are recognised mental health conditions and if they become problematic to the sufferer, require professional help. What sufferers need is understanding and support, not condemnation.
I loved the way Lyn reacted when she saw Marks bachelor pad. She was very tough with him. I loved what she said at the end of the show - 'Mark and Karl are like two little school boys'.
Old man Roger has an wonderful voice. So soothing. Mark and his friend could be ignorant for house chores but they were supportive of the entire process. Glad that they got the help they received ❤
I was talking to a friend of mine who used to work at an Old Folks home. She said the main lesson she had from all those years working there was that all that will be left of us is a plastic bag of our belongings. That really hit home.
Won't start before 11am? Go to bed earlier and crack on with it, don't be ungrateful enough to refuse the help because its too early. I wouldn't have the patience to deal with excuse makers 🤣🤣
I don’t think enough people understand hoarding is just another form of OCD on the same level and compulsive cleaning and intrusive thoughts. In reality a lot of shows like this is just one form of OCD facing another form of OCD.
Yeah they both are the same.. But at least OCD make things more beautiful, meanwhile hoard is such a destructive behavior by ruining the place, inviting insects and deseases and only God knows what else😵
The couple in the flat are acting like teenagers, up all night and in bed all morning. They need to grow up and act their age a bit more. Their flat is a tip! They are just lazy!
i feel for lynn :') i also have a huge compulsion to clean everything, daily, especially vaccuuming because im scared of breathing in dust lol. lynn seems also really sweet, i like listening to her 😊
mark really needs a woman to come in and do the work he's meant to be doing himself ? does he not realize how sad that is on his behalf, not only is it not the womans job to work but the fact that you need someone else to come in because you can't be bothered is a problem. I sound like a boomer but at this rate idc. men need to realize that they can clean to.
This is why it's important to teach all children how to clean and give them the responsibility as young as 2 years old. There's far too many adults who have a complete shock when they haven't got their mums to clean up after them. I also believe the old rhetoric that cleaning is a "woman's job" is harmful. Not only to dump the responsibility onto women, but men may end up single and can't look after themselves.
Mark and Carl did a fantastic job - helped by Lynn! I hope they keep up with it! It is easier to keep up with cleaning when it is organised & clutter free.
I love how Lynn gave them a good telling off. Both men are healthy enough to take care of themselves and their home. 2 days is plenty of time to clean. Like Lynn said, it doesn't have to be palace it just needs to be clean. I don't understand how people can live in those conditions and call it a home
this was such a nice ending i feel so good, i also cleaned my kitchen, put a load in the dishwasher and a load in the washing machine at half time through the show. this was so wholesome. i love this.
At 2:59 is exactly why it’s so important to keep things tidy. One day this man could hurt himself. Hoarding doesn’t really hurt anyone, until it does. If we can find a way to get hoarders a good storage system that doesn’t pose a health risk, I think that’s a win win.
so, she has that dirty little oven that she doesn't clean and it sits on her clean benchtops, and she cooks food in it looking like that, and she puts her suitecase on the bed that has been rolling around on who knows what...
So why does that even matter? Third comment I’ve seen like this. The point is, snot or spunk, it’s an absolutely disgusting , inexcusable and filthy habit to just throw used tissues on the floor.
I somehow get how this can happen. When I am off I often do not have the energy to collect the old stuff together, bring it into order to select what can be sold and what can go to charity or thrown away. Older people not familiar to the options the internet provides nowadays have it way harder I suppose. However I have something like a mess stopping point. There is just this point when something insides me tells me that I will go crazy if I step on another lego brick or have to start washing dishes before I cook. And that's the point when no matter what the whole flat needs to be cleaned up to sparkle and shine. Ironically I do less of real big clean-ups since I started watching these series. I see these hoarders and I just need to clean something right after so to not let it get so far ever. Gonna go and give my bathroom a makeover right now.
I'm always amazed by how many people have very low or no standards & live in absolute filth. My own place is no operating theatre, at least everything is always clean, neat & tidy and I know where all my belongings are. I'm never embarrassed to bring anyone into my home at any time. There truly are a lot of lazy, real scumbags out there. Not just MP's.
doing the bacteria test in the OCD suffers homes is probably really terrible for them, I imagine that the lady that got a score of 39 is gonna obsess over it
I got an airbnb cleaner from Turno app. She's absolutely crazy about cleaning, seriously, the woman is a lunatic hahaha. So I sent her this video and it became kind of an inside joke hahaha. I still come back to watch it from time to time.

They were clearly his wanking tissues.
Both of those men are horrid...they're out of their minds thinking that it's a woman's job to clean up after their dirty behinds...they're both lazy. Our mother was a drill Sargent and if you didn't pick up your room as a kid, she'd come into it and make it worse and you weren't coming out until the job was done and inspected by her (you weren't going to dump things into closets and drawers).
Unfortunately, many mothers are happy to clean after their sons mess. It was even more so in the past.
Lol same!! We grow up learning how to do household chores. Every Saturday is general cleaning day. Each one of us has tasks to do. Even at school we were taught how to clean too. Every day during school day we have a group left behind to sweep the floors, arrange the desk, clear up the clutter.
It worked out in the end. Leave them alone. It's like you trying to find your way around a hacksaw instead of a lipstick.
@@asmoss4734 my ex's mum used to apologise if she didn't have time to iron his bed sheets. I mean what the actual fuck??
@@asmoss4734 yes, I've noticed that many mothers adore babying their sons and treating them like inept, incompetent children that can't do the most basic of tasks. So they end up incredibly entitled and that everyone should just pick up after them, mother and coddle them. When they end up with a woman (I've noticed only hetero men behave this way) they expect the babying to continue and when said woman won't do it, they resort to malicious incompetence until the woman just gives in because it's easier to do it than just argue or have things ruined by these men.
If I ever become a mother and have a son, he'll be independent and capable of cleaning and looking after himself. What's the point in having children if you're just going to teach them to be entitled and lazy?
Disposable ovens should be banned - this is not sustainable living. I see all these obsessive cleaners using tonnes of single use plastic items - and its not necessary at all. This show should incorporate methods for responsible living and disposing of items in addition. Some of this stuff that just gets chucked in a skip is shocking
Not everyone is interested in sustainable living sadly
(the planet wouldn't be the state it is if everyone took responsibility 😕)
You do realize it's a disorder. Just like hailey she's doing her best to tone down one use platics.
@@keithpaglinawan5092 You can be an obsessive cleaner without continuously buying single use plastic sprays for instance… and disposable oven is just not on at all. Having an oven that you don’t use, and ones that you dispose of on a monthly basis because its too difficult to clean properly afterwards is ridiculous and selfish. I clean very regularly using natural products that are proven to kill bacteria and germs safely and sustainably. In addition, this information is readily available everywhere on the internet, just no excuse at all sorry.
Hope you have a lovely day 😊
Exactly.
Mark uses the tissue in his bedroom for his nose YEA RITE 😳
And the Laptop is for TH-cam Videos before going to bed...obviously
🤣
His nose at his finger tips🤣
Claire is such a sweet lady. She helped that couple without fighting and being too judgmental.
Usually when the cleaners come in and judge the homeowners I feel bad because it’s clear they have mental issues. But when Lynn chewed out the bachelors… I cheered. They aren’t hoarders, they’re just nasty.
I don't think they were nasty but they were certainly lazy.
I really hope they kept it up, and improved their lives; maybe even found a woman to nag him just a little. ;)
You just know that Lyn’s husband is going to be sitting around in his pants for four days drinking beer and throwing the cans behind him 😂
Yes!😂
And he'll be punished accordingly.
Yikes.
And eating take aways that stink the house out 🤣🤣🤣
@@mariatony40 I prefer the cleaners, I would never want to live in a hoarded and dirty house. Disgusting
It can’t be good to use all those chemicals several times every single day, neither for your lungs or in the fridge where the food is!
+Chris
Yeah but I bet those lazy women don't say things like 'I think it's the men's job to clean' or 'our house is messy because we bachelorette's ...we need two or three men around here'.
Laziness on it's own is one thing but when certain people of one gender just expects the other to do their work for them (like Mark and Carl) then the problem becomes closer to entitlement and sexism than laziness.
I have depression, and even my place doesn't look as bad as that!
So you think it's only men which end up slobs ?
Dear Lynn, if you ever visit London... I have to meet you. It's like therapy to just hear you speaking about cleaning.
As a hairdresser the splotchy purple stains in Claire’s hair are bothering me
Same! Lol
I'm not a hairdresser and it's bothering me too.
Also not a hairdresser & its bothering me too. Odd, considering shes so particular with her home ......

Sorry, couldn't help cracking up. 🙈
The one dirty thing she has in the house and refuse to clean is the mini oven why don't just clean the damn thing.
That's what I was thinking. It looks really dirty, I wouldn't eat out of it 😟
She throws it away and gets another one
When Mark bent over I had to wonder how long since that crack saw a bar of soap. 😷
I'm really proud of you❤
1:25 you love to clean but you throw out a mini oven every couple of months and buy a new one? I don't understand that. Why not just have one oven and clean it regularly? I'm astonished.
Right? It's just so wasteful too! Cleaning an oven or a mini oven isn't that difficult.
My jaw dropped when she did that o:
OCD is irrational, to my understanding
The oven will make a hoarder happiness... And thé cycle will continue
It looks like shes never cleaned it before to.
Nah we all know what you're doing with those tissues mate 😂 😂 🤢Lynn going to town on them haha yes you tell them Lynn 😂
I laughed when she said boyfriend shouldn't toss and turn when he stays. She must be really fun
@Ayousha Ahmed 🤭🤭🤭
To be honest though separate beds would solve that issue. Both beds could be in the same room if she wanted to sleep nearby to her partner - doesn't have to be an issue. She seemed like a really lovely lady - just holding herself (and by extension her house) to impossible standards.
I think she was joking!
Wow they spray so much even inside the fridge with food! They need to check their blood for high chemical levels. Long term, the lungs suffer
Yeah, they should spray onto a cleaning cloth, not near food.
She clean toilet with no gloves. Can’t see her cleaning logic! She mad. Microwave every few months! Clean it you muppet!
Off topic.. anyone else bothered by the 2 random purple spots in her hair?

I noticed that.

And me howd they get there?
@@0MLisa I think maybe it was from either leaving toner in for too long or from old dye that just hasn't come out.. Either way, Its very annoying hahaha
If I see one more time Hayley dusting her top cabinets in those high heels I'm gonna smash my phone screen 🤣
I love Hayley!
I love these two! lovely to see an old couple so happy and in tune.
Lynn & Clair are two of my all time *favourites* 😊 Both an absolute delight!
I don’t think enough people understand hoarding is just another form of OCD on the same level and compulsive cleaning and intrusive thoughts. In reality a lot of shows like this is just one form of OCD facing another form of OCD.
Yep, compulsion to clean, compulsion to keep everything, for hoarders throwing things away is like throwing away a £20 not every time.
exactly, its two ends a a spectrum. Its not logic or healthy and can make ppl suffer greatly.
Yeah they both are the same..
But at least OCD make things more beautiful, meanwhile hoard is such a destructive behavior by ruining the place, inviting insects and deseases and only God knows what else😵
@@lenziany OCD doesn’t make things more beautiful it’s crippling for those that suffer , either side of the spectrum

The couple in the flat are acting like teenagers, up all night and in bed all morning. They need to grow up and act their age a bit more. Their flat is a tip! They are just lazy!
Yes and when someone takes time out of their life to come and help they don't even bother waking up early 😒
I know one too many people like this this is there future in 20 years time
Ultimately cleaning their homes won’t work if the mental health conditions aren’t addressed too.

mark really needs a woman to come in and do the work he's meant to be doing himself ? does he not realize how sad that is on his behalf, not only is it not the womans job to work but the fact that you need someone else to come in because you can't be bothered is a problem.
I sound like a boomer but at this rate idc. men need to realize that they can clean to.
I love how the lady told the 2 guys off! I think there is a big difference between hording and those who just don't care
Can’t sleep if there is a crease in the duvet cover? That’s extreme …!
All those chemical products and plastic bottles 😱…. It is a crime ! Poor planet 🌎
100% this is the norm in a lot of countries
Lynn is like a substitute mom to the boys😂
Mark and Carl did a fantastic job - helped by Lynn! I hope they keep up with it! It is easier to keep up with cleaning when it is organised & clutter free.
I can't even comprehend how childish and selfish those "men" are and that house 🤢🤢
Aww, Sue's lovely and absolutely adores her hubby. God love her ❤
I love how Lynn gave them a good telling off. Both men are healthy enough to take care of themselves and their home. 2 days is plenty of time to clean. Like Lynn said, it doesn't have to be palace it just needs to be clean. I don't understand how people can live in those conditions and call it a home
Lyn is a star.
One does not doss, one lives in a house!!! I love Lynn 😅💖
None of them should be aloud to be able to clean before swabs, if they are that clean you would get a good score anyway!
Exactly. Maybe they just needed confirmation that their cleaning methods actually kills germs

this was such a nice ending i feel so good, i also cleaned my kitchen, put a load in the dishwasher and a load in the washing machine at half time through the show. this was so wholesome. i love this.

It is realy great to see people coming to gether and making a change.
At 2:59 is exactly why it’s so important to keep things tidy. One day this man could hurt himself. Hoarding doesn’t really hurt anyone, until it does. If we can find a way to get hoarders a good storage system that doesn’t pose a health risk, I think that’s a win win.
I do clean every day but I don't like it. Because of that I dont keep a lot of stuff in my house.
mark is like the off screen version of peterpan the boy who never grewup
so, she has that dirty little oven that she doesn't clean and it sits on her clean benchtops, and she cooks food in it looking like that, and she puts her suitecase on the bed that has been rolling around on who knows what...
From about 20 mins all the cleaners go and inspect each others houses! It's really cute!!!!

Lyn was amazing so honest and strict she made me laugh a lot. If there bachelors then I’m staying single for the rest of my life xx
The excuse of the tissues round the bed 😂😂 aye mate, must have been a terrible cold that 🤣
I'm so glad the bachelors changed their attitudes, I think they were actually depressed from feeling overwhelmed by the clutter and dirt.
😂🤣🤣 I just love the old woman.. She's so straight forward🤣
"I've had a cold so i chuck them on the floor and leave them" yeah... A "Cold" ... LOL
those tissues were not from having a cold i’ll tell you that much
Aaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhh 😂😂😂😂
So why does that even matter? Third comment I’ve seen like this. The point is, snot or spunk, it’s an absolutely disgusting , inexcusable and filthy habit to just throw used tissues on the floor.

Sorry but I knew a “ bachelor “and his house was immaculate! He cleaned it and kept it tidy all by himself lol 😂, there’s no excuse for that !
I thought Victoria was hard talking but Lynne is something else 😂😂😂 I’d love a show with just Victoria and Lynne
