    Take a sanding block and sand off the coating on the raised TOYOTA logo on the valve cover.

    That valve cover will only fit 85 and later model Motors it won't fit yours without changing over the studs that hold the valve cover down to the correct length ones from what I remember

    • @vmoney9106
      @vmoney9106 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Nope, that will fit. I have the earlier rounded 22r cover and the 85+ and they are the same height

    Do you only blast your parts before coat or do you also wet clean with a cleaner? And what type of blast media do you use?

    • @austinniemela
      @austinniemela  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Blast with 100 grit aluminum oxide and blow them off and they are ready to coat as long a you don’t contaminate them

    Not real familiar with powder coating but it looks like you heat the parts before you apply the powder coat and then heat them again after to cure? What's the purpose of that? I thought you just heated once after the coat to cure?

    • @austinniemela
      @austinniemela  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Heating before bakes out any oil or impurities in the material!
