Thank you Pastor Shawn, I’ve have the privilege of teaching our adult class this Sunday. Your overview is always helpful and spot on. Thank you, your prayers are appreciated.
Thank you so very much for another very insightful commentary .... Thank you for praying for our class. God Bless You ,Your Family and Your Church Ministry.
I so appreciate your videos and insights to help me prepare to teach my class at First Baptist Dallas
Please pray for mine and my husband's Sunday School class of young adults we are teaching. They need to hear this and it's very difficult to get people to come out. They also have children that need to be in their own classes. May God bless you!
I know about those young adults -- Cheryl & I took that group at our church a year ago January. They are both a blessing and a challenge -- but God is doing some great things. Not to sound trite, but to me the key is to really pray for them regularly. God has given so many answers. (Cheryl's breakfasts every Sunday haven't hurt either!! Tell them you're making your specialty this Sunday and maybe it will encourage them to come out.) Seriously I'll be praying for you! Thank you for sharing.
Ist John 2:27
Thank you for teaching and sharing. Greetings from North Texas.
Erik -- man we were dodging traffic accidents in the heavy rain in North Texas last weekend on the way home from a grand baby's birthday party in OK. We literally just missed two different cars that had crashed in the middle of the interstate, on either side of Dallas. We were thankful to get safely home! But God bless you, and know that I will sure be praying for you in North Texas this weekend!
Thank you for the lesson Pastor. Looking forward to teaching this lesson this week.
You're welcome Steve. You know I'll be praying for you this weekend!
Thank you for your teaching. We lost our daughter in law in March and our son in May of 2023. How can this loss work to our good?
Thanks brother
Yes sir Jeff; praying for you this weekend as always! May the Lord manifest Himself in a special way to you all!
Thank you Brother Shawn.
For some reason I can't see your name on here -- but the Lord knows it! I will be praying that He will bless and use you this weekend!
thanks Brother Shawn
You're welcome Clay; I'll be praying for you and your group this weekend!
Thank you Brother
Absolutely Jeff. Know that I'm praying for you as you share this weekend!
Brother Shawn- thank you for your insight & knowledge. Have been using your lessons for quite some time. I have been asked to lead a joint adult Bible study for Mother’s day! Any suggestions?
One suggestion would be to teach the regular passage -- I always like to see if maybe God in His providence hasn't given something in the regular plan SS/sermon series that applies to a special day. That might be possible with Genesis 41, where Joseph points Pharaoh to God in :16 -- then apply it to how good mothers (and others) point their children and others to God also -- using a good illustration of a mother who did that -- and so on through the passage. OR if you felt led to use a special text for the day, one of my favorites is II Timothy 1:5, “For I am mindful of the sincere faith within you, which first dwelt in your grandmother Lois and your mother Eunice, and I am sure that it is in you as well.” It's a fantastic text for a Mothers Day message. (And I have a sermon you can look at for some illustrations and applications, on my website at www.shawnethomas.com. Type "mothers day" or "II Timothy 1:5" in the search bar and it should bring it up -- and maybe some others as well. I hope that will help you some! I'll be praying for you this weekend!
‘Your male and female slaves are to come from the nations around you; from them you may buy slaves. 45 You may also buy some of the temporary residents living among you and members of their clans born in your country, and they will become your property. 46 You can bequeath them to your children as inherited property and can make them slaves for life, but you must not rule over your fellow Israelites ruthlessly.
How can the loss of our daughter in law and our son work to the good?
