I just came back from a 3 week trip to Ireland and Scotland and wore this pack everyday. Also had a regular suitcase but it stayed in the hotels and I used the pack for everything I could have needed. It performed marvelously. But for most EDC here at home, my Ready Pack is my normal carry. Vertx is expensive but so well made.
I got the Gamut as well as a couple of Ready Packs from Vertex. Love them. Making GHB for wife and son. Thanks for your reviews, advice and input. Thanks for your service!
I like the bag; it seems to be very versatile, plus I love the color options. I can see myself using it for a EDC and a travel bag for short trips.
Great review of this bag. I have it in black. Best bag for everyday, trip, camping, anything. 👊🏼
definitely a nice bag. I would probably only use it the "hidden Molly" mode as a go bag and pack it out with essentials, mags, tools, ifak, SBR.... the usual. Great review. Might just pick one up since all of my backpacks are black. Thanks for sharing
I tried Vertex a while ago. I returned all i tried. They are very well made. I wanted to like them. But they heavy and i sweat on my back on all of them. No ventilation at all.
Great review. I've been carrying a 5.11 COVERT 18 for several years and really like it. I've been looking for a replacement in the 15-20L range lately. Your insight on the water bottle pockets and the Molle panel are very helpful.
511 nitro is hot
Got this bag because of your in depth review. Was Looking at the Maxpetion Everyday Citizen, but this bag has so much more room and features the other bag just didn't have. I really like the maxpedtion internal Gun/Holster carrier as the Multi Purpose holster is not my favourite by Vortex. I use the Maxpedition Compact for the range and love how I can use the velcro attachments inside the bag. I bought the overflow Bag, along with some other Tactigami attachments. In the end what sold me was the fact that this bag does scream out I got the p226 Navy Seal locked and loaeded. Thanks Marine X just subscribed, that detail is a game changer and goes with my personal philosophy of Concealed Carrying helps you blend in and gives you a tactical advantage.
Welcome Stella! You seem to have the qualifications to do great things on this channel. Wish you good luck and all the best.
Nice looking bag, I like the hideaway molle option
Edc pack 16-21 is best
Key points
Organization
Material and stitch
Comfort
Clam shell openings
Proper grab handle location
511 nitro
Tasmanian survival
Viktos upscale sling
511 amp
Usgi sf sling pack
These are my top choices for edc
Nice, really honest review. Definitely agree w/ your gripes and appreciate hearing it. That side luggage pass through is a big bummer for me as well. But the MOLLE would be badass if I was going to use this as a truck grab back or something.
The reason for the "luggage pass through" being sideways is so that when you have a ballistic panel installed, as you previously mentioned, you can jam your non dominant arm through it and use the bag as a ballistic shield.
I found a random bag by Hilton ( the hotel chain) for like $10 in a Salvation Army last year, and so far I have absolutely loved it. One of the most random products, but it fits my carry perfectly. But I’m still crushing on this one you got!
Nice bag I been looking to upgrade soon I think this might be a solid pick.
I used to have one of those bags and I used to keep a scalpel blade down inside of that big handle tag thing whatever it’s called.
My favorite part of this bag is you giving it away to me Devil!!!
Great review!
Oh wow I discounted this bag in the past because I didn’t think it had any molle. Thanks to your review you cost me money 😂
Thanks for the extensive review. I have been wanting a new EDC bag and the 5.11 urban carry bag I have really sucks.
Very good review. I like your reviews! Thanks.
really like your review about the EDC carry items
Super agree, it’s a bummer they don’t have something to hook onto on their shoulder straps. For cameras, phones, water bottles, etc. i definitely noticed all the Gamuts hang wired and low on my back. I have a few versions, but only because I acquired them. I would t pay that hefty price tag for them. I’m not a 511 guy but I prefer their more “gray” packs over Vertx.
awesome review bruh.. ‘preciate ya! 💪🏽
I have the 2.0, and I prefer the 3.0s molle panel because it had velcro throughout and not just a middle section. I also like the hook and loop on the inside of the flip open main compartment instead of 2 fixed zipper pouches. I do also like the full size bottle holder, but my 2.0 can carry my bigger hydroflask. I won't be upgrading because the 2.0 is good enough for me and the straps don't have placed for a camelbak attachment or flashlight.
My only gripe about vertx bags in general are the bottle pockets. They use amazing materials. But their bottle pockets are trash.
Could you elaborate on why you think the bottle are trash? Appreciate your time 👍🏻
@@MichaelB2L It would be great if the material that made up the pocket was elastic. So that it wouldn’t hinder how inside of the bag functioned once a an item was placed into the pocket. Especially on the EDC ready pack.
@@parawatch1761 Ah right gotta ya 👍🏻 Cheers for that buddy
@@parawatch1761
Which generation of the Ready Pack do you have?
I believe this has been remedied on the Ready Pack 3.0 with bottle straps instead of just elastic
That water bottle pocket is very intriguing to me
Good stuff. Thanks for this!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Hi, thanks a lot for your review. Here is my thought regarding possible feature that hasn't been mentioned: can front pocket flap work as backpack-bottom holder strap in conjunction with included hooks and waist band mounts? (to hold a blanket underneath, for example)
By the way some backpacks can sit in luggedge hoding not by special sleve but by waist strap and chest strap, but it depends on shoulders shape.
This suggestion has been made...
You can do it in a field expedient manner now, but it isn't as secure as it would be if there were anchor points for it specifically.
Appreciate the review
For me i actually chose to ware defiance type jeans or pants with hidden pockets and have my gear on me
Pack is always in vehicle
What i carry in pockets will get me back to my vehicle to main kit
I have the Vertx Ready pack and the previous generation of the Gamut bag and I much prefer the 20L capacity of the Ready Pack to this one.
Vertix gamut 3.0. 25 liters
21 x 11.5 x 8 inch depth
An older version of him just interrupted selling a fit bit on a bike....
P.s. I couldn't stop watching his cigar.
Great video!!
I have 2 vertx bags, love them. My ONE complaint for both of them that should be standard for all bags are, please let them stand up straight. It drives me mad that they will not. Please VERTX
Great review! I like all the fetures, but I agree with you that it is a little too big for EDC. However, it may be a good size for a trip.
great review, my only question is, you talk about the green ready pack like its a much better size for you because its smaller than the 25 liter gamut, but then go on to say you wish it was bigger like a 25 liter bag..... it sounds like you prefer a 20 liter bag, being that your only gripe with the gamut is that it feels too big.
Great video! What kind of holster is that, in the CCW compartment and where can I get one. I have 2 tactigami holsters and they just really flop around. I would love a rigid holster that can be attached to hook and loop! Thanks again.
If your Tactigami holsters "flop around" they aren't put together correctly. That being said, Crossbreed and QVO make really good options, as well as an up-and-comer called Fire For Effect Solutions.
There is also the Belt Adapter Panel (BAP), which mimics a belt in the bag, so you just plug your holster into it.
I love my Gamut 2.0. The 3.0 wasn’t as versatile. I use my Ready Pack 3.0 everyday. My Gamut 2.0 is my truck bag. Tougher than tough.
So far I still like my eberlestock switchblade. I see that montana knife company sweatshirt. Do you like it?
Once again the experts come out in force...
Hey,X. I'd really be interested in your thoughts on the RevMedX Parabelt...... If your looking for different things to review.
Man I really want a vertx bag! They are just too expensive though! Thanks for the content and I’m up for trying it if you want to give one away. 😂
Could you do an update edc with this bag that includes you guns in it?
Nobody uses bottle pockets for bottles anymore, I think they could use that real estate for other items.
Pretty board statement
Eberlestock Switchblade or VertX Gamut?
I carry a ready pack 2.0 everyday, does anyone else think the "middle pocket" is kinda useless? If not, what do you have in yours?
The adjustable laptop sleeve you can put in CCW pocket or Back pocket ?
That’s feel weird?
Hi from México 🇲🇽
Sorry my bad English
Yeah you could technically
I have several Vertx bags and they are always a disappointment after I use them for a while. They need to stop with the silly hidden molle area and make that a dedicated admin area with some actual organization. It's like they put zero effort or thought into the inside of the bag(s)
If you could get 5.11 organization with vertx material and construction, you would be onto something.
Wow....just wow.
wow...just wow @@Toms2ATime
Waiting for a Black Friday sale
Mine is Probably 15 liters and I need more space.
More tactical than the 511?
11 litter bag, I got soft body armor and a pdw and all my edc gear... If you filling 25 litters you probably got stuff you wont even use this year or the next
Marine (shameless plug) X back at it again with another banger 💪🏿💯
I like the bag but not the price, Thanks for the review.
Will it fit under a plane seat as a carry on?
Yes
Will it fit underneath a plane seat as a carry on?
Yes
Excellent, thank you! I very rarely watch a YT video from start to finish. Watched two of yours now. Great work,@@MarineX !
My point of view, from Scandinavia btw🇩🇰 great video. I found your videos on get home backpacks really interesting, so new sub.
Well I'm not necessarily agreeing with most arguments but I see sense with your thoughts definitely.
None the less, I do personally mostly always have a edc backpack with me that has most equipment as a get home type of setup.
But I'm really minimalistic meaning that I depend on the absolute minimum. Many ideas and functionalities seem great but when put in use they sometime get in your every day use because it gets to technical, and also if your gear lacks key features, we'll useless, so.
Do I need a knife and a hatchet when day packing probably not, maybe a small knife. But:
Water
Prober clothing and
Snacks and food
Phone charger
...
But then again I totally see sense, it depends on what type of environments you are in, urban, forest, small town, desert, and the differences are not to overlook to say the least.
Do I need a emergency blanket and a one time use raincover, No.
Always check the weather and dress proper from home. A couple of good cargopants and a packable hardshell breathable rainjacket, then your 90% on the way.
I also belive that even in a country as America, do you then need to carry a firearm when ever possibly to be able to protect yourself and "shoot back" probably not, most people carrying firearms don't even know how to use them properly, meaning you can easily get out of situations standing opposite someone with a 9mm.
I use lappland hike 15
Singi 28
Singi 20
People really do be DEATHLY terrified to spend money on clearly well thought out products lmao
First. Shout out from Fort Worth
I love my tactical gear. But I think ur bag doesn't really have that look. I think ur all good bro. it's a nice bag. Thanks for the good video!! Be well!
Even this still looks too tactical in my opinion that's why I rock a JanSport they're very unassuming and quite strong I've been rockin' mine for a decade
I didn't know about the hidden Molly now looks good but yeah that price point oof JanSport is at least $36 to $65 depending on model
I like JanSport as well. been using it as and EDC for years. Very unassuming but practical and durable.
Comment for the algorithm
Bro the Gamut does NOT look tactical at all, wtf you talkin' about?? Looks like damn near every hiking daypack out there.
Lie-berries 😅
Thats a brand new bag, you definitely havent carried that for EDC for the last year.
Oh so you’re saying you’ve inspected my bag? Well thank God. I guess the guy I sold it to for a discount because of obvious wear and tear owes me money. Don’t rely on TH-cam cameras doc. Real life is different.
@MarineX 🤣🤣🤣
Love your reviews, but this is a hard pass, especially at over 150
The 3.0 series costs more and has less. Why TH-camrs still shill for Vertx is beyond me. Stripping organization and selling it back as accessories is never a customer friendly move.
The bags are $155 and $250. Dave Canterbury better come with those bags.
to expensive - its just a back pack
I hate that clear pocket u keep adding to your bags lately
Strong
Way to big
Works for me
@@MarineX there is a sweet spot for bag size for scene mapping . No bag is perfected to blend it and color makes a difference .
If you see anyone waring a pack you know its not normal
Before anyone gets into prepping and carrying gear its beat to people watch at a mall . It trains you to understand society and situations.
Scene support is great for all things
Helps you in work and pass time to help understand people and what situations you want to put your family in .
Take a cert class as well that will help or volunteer structor firefighter is great . Ad advanced first aid and cpr is ideal training.
If you are into martial arts try sparring your friends with you gear on at different stages
Start in plain clothes then ad a back pack
Still will open your mind about reality of what you should and should not carry .
As a Man you are a provider and a protector be that guy but do it right .
Edc.. too big
