I use small size seedling grow bags filled with sand or pebbles as a sacrifice sinker. 300 for a couple of dollars. they are enviromental friendly and break down quickly. Paper clip when in boat fishing reefs
i had never thought of using the Gemini clip upside down.genius idea. Ive got their crap over complected rotten bottom thing. Using this method from now on,on the beaches of sunny South/West Wales
Ive used a rotten bottom on my rigs for a long time now, dont lose many rigs unless it's the hook that gets snagged. Well, that was until i started using dingle dangle rigs. Seem to get snagged much less, probably due to using circle hooks.👍👌
Another good idea I saw somewhere was to use a paper clip on the weight. It has saved me a lot of tackle. It is strong enough to hold the weight but opens up as soon as you apply some pressure.
@@Billyfishing_watch Yup, not meant for surfcasting big weights. I use them at the estuary where every second cast or more results in a snag. Cheers mate. Keep the videos coming.
The old fellas used to fish for wrasse when I was a kid. A pocket full of stones from the field (the stones at the shore were smooth and wouldn't grip the wool.) And some wool as a rotten bottom. No fishing rod just a nylon line on a small frame called a doruadh (pronounced "droo") I remember my frends grandfather would turn up on a South Easterly wind, pull out 2 whoppers in 20 minutes and off he went with his dinner. We knew wind direction mattered for trout on the lake but wrasse on the shore??? The standard way of cooking it was with milk and an onion in the oven. My mother still dies the same. Loves it. And today nobody like to eat wrasse.
Hi Steve. Best of luck in Norway! It must be the rotten bottom you are writing about? If it is just put less turns than you did before, and it will pop loose for you. Thanks Brother 😁👌
Very useful video thanks Billy. I was going to buy some rotten bottom clips, but I've got lots of those Gemini clips, so don't need to! Tight lines - stay safe & well. 🎣🎣👍👍
Great tips Billy especially the garden ties, thanks very much, take care, Norfolk Ray
Thanks Ray. Hope it comes in useful brother 😁👌
"You need a rotten bottom" Billyfishing

Great tips as always Billy. Every day is a school day. Fish on brother 🐟🇳🇴
Thanks Chris, see you on the beach 😁👌

That's a good idea, can you cast the bigs hard?
@@Billyfishing_watch I only need to cast about 30ft to the rocks, but I guess the long narrow grow bags would be more aero dynamic.
What I meant is, will the bag burst!
not as yet ,but will tear open on rocks if caught in snags
@@Billyfishing_watch
concrete sinker would be better imo.
Great advice 👍
Thanks Brother 😁✊
Hi Billy, the garden wire ties are a brilliant idea😀….thanks xxx
Hi Angela, Yes it works well. I find it less fiddly, then the mono. Hope it works for you. Thanks sister 😁👌

Hi bud. Yes overly complicated tackle, is expensive and problematic. Hope it helps out, thanks brother 😁👌

Hi Warren, hope you find it useful. Thanks Brother 😁👌

Hi bud. Yes, that sounds like a good idea. But I think they will open, if they are cast too hard. Thanks Brother 😁👌

Again, thank you for sharing. Champion tips!
Bejesus you have nimble fingers. Don't think my arthritic ones were ever that nimble.

Interesting 👌 thanks brother 👍😁
another great tip mate cheers
Thanks Brother, glad you liked it. See you on the beach 👍😁
Extended bait clips are a Godsend, I put one of them and the weight isn't going anywhere.
They sure are, thanks Brother. See you on the beach 👍😁
I found that I get few snags when using wire sinkers. Because the rig sticks where it lands it doesn't drag around and find a snag.
This is true, but it doesn't always work. Thanks Brother. See you on the beach 👍😁
Love the vids heading to norway in April, is there a specific tie wire brand as the one I got is far to strong and doesn't break lol

What a plonker i am, Thanks Billy just tried works perfectly
@stevemarra4459 no worries 👌
Cheers mate 😉🎣👍
Thanks brother 😁👌
Nice one Billy 👍
As it happens I recently "invented" a new rotten bottom clip, if you're really lucky I may share my latest genius idea 🤣🎣👍
Hi Daz. Just a video for the newbers, I'm not fond of this methods myself. But it helps out sometimes. Thanks brother 😁👌
@@Billyfishing_watch me neither, I'm not keen on losing leads unless absolutely necessary 👍
Very useful video thanks Billy. I was going to buy some rotten bottom clips, but I've got lots of those Gemini clips, so don't need to!

Hi Trampbuddy, glad to oblige. Thanks Brother 😁👌
