1976 throgh 1977 I worked on a coastsr, The Doreen B we used deliver scrap metal to Rotterdam then moor further up the river to take on a Dutch pilot, Johan then we d go 2 or 3 days up the Rhine half a day sailing past Cologne to collect cargo to bring back to England. Good days. Happy New Year everyone
@Hold_Fast_010 The ship I was on was small, 300 tons empty and 650 tons loaded. We did not have gps in 1976 just charts radar and radar not forgetting the Reeds Almanack, I joined the ship as a deckhand 6 months later I was bosun 3rd hand, then I was trainee relief mate, there was only 5 of us on board, we did not have the luxury of Magrer hatches, we had boards and tarpaulins, Great times
@stevemason5348 True sailors with a lot off knowledge on how too navigate, beautiful! I started in 2007 as a sailor and worked my way up too 1st mate en now as a captain for over 5 years. Love this job and working on the waters, the raw power of nature.
@Hold_Fast_010 fantastic, I would love go back to it but Im an old man now so have to make do with my sailing boat. Whats the name of your ship? Love to find and follow it on Boatbeacon. My ship was based at Rye Harbour on the south coast of England, my sailing boat is in Southampton also south coast of England. Congratulations on doing well
@ age is just a number Steve💪🏻😉 But I work on various ships because we have multible pilotboats that circulate the Dutch harbours. Thanks and enjoy cruising the waters in your sailing boat😎👍🏻
Wow. Beautiful Oil Tanker. And beautiful small ship/Launch. Expert Pilot and facilitating staff. Risk of life but duty is duty. May God keep all these people safe and sound during journey and duty joining of PILOT. 🤲 ❤❤ Prayers from Lahore Pakistan 🇵🇰 for this beautiful picturization 👍😍
