I think the image represented the statue of His dream. And he was 'proud' that He was considered the 'head of Gold'. Nebuchadnezzar wasn't the sharpest crayon in the box, and he himself represents someone that is loved by God, and repeatedly humbled as he stumbled his way to a relationship with God.
nowadays we don't need 90 foot statues. they've been replaced with simple inexpensive flags. pledge your allegiance to this nation or the other. so many believers, sadly, do so.
What Biblical proof do you have that the image represented a trinity? Indeed God being a Trinity was the decison of the Constantinian Church that you have disparaged. There is more verses in the Bible arguing against God being a Trinity than those that can be used to prove that God is a Trinity. The concept was obviously not clear since there was arguments for and against by Anathanasia and Arius. The Hebrews would have been sure what God was before the New Testment was written which is where most of the verses to prove the Trinity are drawn from. Prove me wrong.
The TRINITY ‘god’ is a live and kicking with the Catholic Church - who teach a POPE as being a HOLY FATHER (such blasphemy!) - the priests representing the ‘sons of god (the Pope Father)’ to whom people use to intercede for their confession of sins of the people - the ‘body’ of believers.
