My impression is that Obadiah was written early and is very concentrated. That Jeremiah quoted Obadiah much later and expanded on what he said. The fact that the book of Gad puts old Edom as Rome and new Edom as Islam is pretty amazing.

Jer 49:14 I have heard a rumour from the LORD, and an ambassador is sent unto the heathen, saying, Gather ye together, and come against her, and rise up to the battle. Read Jer 49. It is super interesting due to several literary devices. It has what I think are quotes from Obadiah, but reversed. Notice the thief in the night hint. Also a device called an inclusio. That is a phrase repetition that encloses a discussion on a special topic. The Jeremiah lion coming up is one inclusio. Matthew has another in which he gives a discussion on being chosen that is wrapped inside, “Mat 20:16 So the last shall be first, and the first last: for many be called, but few chosen. “ and Mat 22:14 For many are called, but few are chosen . I guess they didn’t have paragraphs or chapters then so this is a way to make a specific topic chapter.

He was one of King David’s prophets. 1Ch 29:29 Now the acts of David the king, first and last, behold, they are written in the book of Samuel the seer, and in the book of Nathan the prophet, and in the book of Gad the seer, Apparently a group of Jews from the northern kingdom fled before the Assyrians attacked. They took their Torah scrolls with them but also the book’s mentioned above. They fled to Yemen. Then when Islam came and genocide threatened they fled again, this time to India. In the days of the Dutch East India company one of these Jews converted to Christianity and translated the book of Gad before he left. Try a TH-cam search for Ken Johnson and Gad the Seer.

As far as I understand, Jesus is Yahweh incarnated (John 8:58; Isaiah 9:6; Zechariah 9:9; 9:11; 11:13; and 12:10). Also, read the amazing Gideon story. The messenger of God the Father is Yahweh. And God Yahweh was the God who created Adam and Eve in Genesis 2. The Scriptures are fascinating!

I love how soo many western Christian pastors feel that their interpretation of the scripture is the only truth that is acceptable. Abraham is the father of the HEBREWS (Jews) yet he was from Iraq so he is Arab. Rachel and leah were Syrian and the grandmothers of the group that are called Jews. So Syrians are arabs are they not? Israel being chosen by God to be set apart as His people in no way means God won’t hear a Palestian’s prayers. If you read Hebrew’s chapter 11 specifically verse 18, you’ll see that it was Isaac God chose to inherit the promise given to Abraham. And from Isaac, it was Jacob aka Israel. They were given the land of Canaan which then became Israel. Ishmael also got his own blessing from God. Deuteronomy chapter 2 and Joshua chapter 24 both say that God gave Esau land. Mt. Seir. YWHW never said He would not hear the prayers of someone who isn’t an Israelite. These are YWHW’s choices. So don’t blame pastors for teaching the Word. Take it up with the Lord.
