    Great actor. Writer. Novelist. Played a bad guy very well. Despite being a very big sweetheart. Admired by those who worked with him.

    Greatest voice in the history of Hollywood; just beats out Lee Marvin in my book. What a menacing screen presence. Terrific
    career - even made a French film: 'L'arme à gauche'.

      Great voice yes...but nobody beats Lee! Gordon was a serious bad ass in real life and on screen.

    What a mean looking dude.
    Apparently a cerebral and quite pleasant mansion real life.
    I remember seeing The Night of the Grizzly when I was 7 or 8.
    He scared me as much as the bear.

    • @Mike-yg8ig
      @Mike-yg8ig 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      They said the bear was afraid to do the scene with Leo but they had a counselor talk to him and explain that Leo wasn't going to hurt him. The bear agreed to do the scene but insisted that police would be standing by on the set.

    What a career. Piercing blue eyes. Great actor and writer. And immortalized on film in one of the greatest scenes Leo was ever in & became "the pilgrim" in John Wayne's "McLintock!" -- The mudslide fight. Leo was always reliable & appeared with Wayne in more than one film.
    Too bad Leo wasn't one of The Dirty Dozen with Lee Marvin. He would've fit in real good.

    Another great character actor. Leo Gordon scared the living hell out of me as a kid when I first saw him as Crazy Mike Carney in "Riot in Cell Block 11"...he was as bad as they come.

    He's among the best of character actors when it comes to his portrayal of villainous roles in gangster and western films. I like him best in 2 prison films 🎥🎬.
    Riot in Cell Block 11 was one where he was a right hand man to Neville Brand who played the top ringleader.
    The other is The Steel Jungle where he was a brutal henchman fellow con of an incarcerated mob gangster Ted de Corsia.

    Glad to see that you are giving some credit to a great actor. As a bad guy he was the badest. Liked him a lot when he was in a few episodes of Maverick where he played big Mike the Irishman and was a friend of James Gardner

    Gordon was one of those supporting actors who made every scene he was in. One of the great bad guys in movies. And started his life as indeed a real bad guy, convicted of armed robbery and even shot by cops. Turned his life around and became and actor and writer, a nice guy except on the screen.

    There is a lot to admire about this man. He went to prison as a young man and he made the most of the prison library. He was one of the best bad guys you could fine and he could look very scare similar to Danny Trejo. He enjoyed being behind the scenes and writing much more then acting. He was married to the same woman most of his life. Combined his acting roles and the scripts he helped write he could easily of been on the walk of fame
