My advice to new investors: Buy good companies stocks and hold them as long as they are good companies. Just do this and ignore the forecasts and market views which are at best entertaining but completely useless.

The key to big returns is not big moving stocks. It's managing risk in relationship to reward. Having the correct size on and turning your edge as many times as necessary to reach your goal. That holds true from long term investing to day trading.

Due to my demanding job, I lack the time to thoroughly assess my investments and analyze individual stocks. Consequently, for the past seven years, I have enlisted the services of a fiduciary who actively manages my portfolio to adapt to the current market conditions. This strategy has allowed me to navigate the financial landscape successfully, making informed decisions on when to buy and sell. Perhaps you should consider a similar approach.

The main focus for markets now is Nvidia, which has powered a large chunk of the S&P 500’s recent earnings. Nvidia’s stock, up more than 90% this year, rose 2.5% in New York on Monday, sending the Nasdaq 100 index to another record high. I'm still looking for companies to make additions to my $350K portfolio, to boost performance. Here for ideas...

Safest approach i feel to tackle it is to diversify investments. By spreading investments across different asset classes, like bonds, real estate, and international stocks, they can reduce the impact of a market meltdown.

I’ll just add context to epbrown that the comparison of AMZN 2021 Covid high price , necessary recovery and CEO change to today’s price is misleading and not fair to the company. What they did through Covid was nothing short of miraculous, and Jassey has successfully cleaned up and streamlined (cash flow, margins) and now into the future new growth of AI, advertising, #1 retailer… the company is nothing short of amazing. Read last quarters earnings report, it is phenomenal. Jassey is great. It’s a long term no brainer in my opinion along with NVDA and GOOG. I normally don't "trade" positions, but I've done it on 3 occassions in the last 4 years: Amazon, Tesla, Nvidia. I love all these companies, but their stock price got ahead of their fundamental earning power on a few occasions.
Sometimes, people will hold all or even buy more once it's gone up like that, but I took a "sell most" approach. Hitting the top doesn't matter, but rather limiting downside potential once the upside isn't very visible anymore

FICO is a true government granted monopoly. FHA mandates use of FICO 5, 4 and 2 as the mortgage scoring service for FHA guaranteed mortgages. If you’re already using 5, 4 and 2 for underwriting government guaranteed mortgages, why use something else for other mortgages?

Last week there was an after market jump on FICO of 60%, it was priced at a little over $2300. I had a small position so I was both excited for the gains as well as had fomo for not buying more. When the market opened the next day it was back to its price before after market. But since then the price has been climbing. I think the stock is over valued, but I have a feeling it will keep climbing regardless. Not sure what caused that aftermarket surge.
