This episode's title was a reference to "The Red Badge of Courage", a famous novel set during the Civil War. The red badge being a metaphor for wounds sustained while in battle.

I’m surprised Cartman doesn’t attempt to manipulate a drunken WW2 reenactment to make the Nazis win. After all, he tried to be Hitler in the Passion of the Jew. 😂

I'm gonna tell you two things about reenactments and the people that participate in them:
First, those events are always way more fire than you'd think. My step-dad is a French Indian war reenactor, and I go with him to every event I can.
Second, those guys can drink and party with the best of them. They're mostly older guys, but they can drink me under the table every time.

I did a report on General Robert E. Lee when I was a kid even though he was a confederate General he was also against slavery
That's true. He and his wife taught basic education to young black people, which was very much illegal at the time. Lincoln wanted Lee to lead the Union troops, but Lee rejected the offer because his state joined the confederates and he couldn't fight against his own state.
he was also against the idea of the future capitolizing or monumentizing the war,the irony being that there are more statues and monuments to him than any other confederate soldier.
I learned about the Civil War multiple times in school, but I never knew General Lee was against slavery as well

and many in the south felt obligated to choose loyalty over morality when it came to the war.
