Actually you don't need a waypoint for PB-mode. What you need is a targetpoint ! A waypoint is one of the ways to get a targetpoint (by means of "WP designate"). Other ways are with the groundradar, with the targeting-pod or even with the HUD or HMCS (TDC Depress). My question is: what area from the targetpoint is searched ? For instance, if I slew my targeting pod over the target, which I can see on the SA-page, and press TDC Depress, would that be accurate enough ?
The furthest that I’ve fired an AGM-88C HARM is 67.4 miles from an F/A-18C at 40,000ft at Mach 1.2. It took out a P-19 search radar. The missile lofted up to 74,400ft.
I would find these tutorials much more useful if you could include your missions. I can use your mission and follow along with your video to help speed up the learning process. Thank you
@@staubsauger2305 Not an invalid point, as learning to use it is important, however in this situation, the work has already been done, so may as well share it. It's not like it's a super complex mission that has value beyond learning these basics.
I've always wondered why you need a code for PB mode but not TOO or SP. Why can't the HARM just lock on to whichever radar is emitting in the vicinity of the target point in PB mode?
It looks like only one harm code can be used at a time. Not able to program each harm on each station with their own unique SAM code in order to have them all set up at one time
You can download them from the DCS Downloads user files section. They will then be able to go in as an addition to the kneeboard for the F/A-18C or F-16C. That's where I got them from.
May seem a little late to the dance here, but can anyone please send me the link to get the HARM codes? I looked in DCS and was unable to find them. Or can I be directed to a place where I can download them? Any help is appreciated.

Great video.
Answered all my questions in 6mins. Thank you.

Yup good point.
Waypoint can be off target by 5NM and you can fire from 65NM if you fly 35 000 feet @ M0.9

Did that last HARM go through the tree and cause the tree to sway? If so that is new. Trees always stop missiles like they're solid metal walls.
I guess you could build a mission where the SAM Radars turn off if an AGM-88 is launched in a zone. :D

Use the Mission Editor. It's a good skill for you to acquire.

The AGM-88C HARM does seem to have been improved.
good to know
the F16 Harm Modus (Not F18 PB) is better, at least I get informations about the range.
✅Uber informative 👍👍 😁

Today I found out that besides Covert Cabal and Binkoff there is another great military channel.
I like those guys :)
So if they dont turn on the radar on time you just loose the harm right? So is a little bit risky
That’s why the 15K+ rule is a must here, that gives the radar enough time to activate during the HARM’s travel

how do you know what type of radar is locking you up so you can select the correct number from the list?
it shows radar type on your RWR (EW screen)
Is there somewhere you can get the DED codes for the radars?

Where is an update HARM table for the different radars
I found one but shows SA10 incorrectly at 110 when the latest video and test shows it as 117
Top 👍Thank you
Do you recommend any want to get some lessons off
Where do you get the codes for the various radar system?
Good question!
Matt Wagner has it in the description of his tutorial of the PB mode
Do you recommend anyone to get basic lessons off if so how
