good job sir as always you do. 78 degrees in Florida today. I do not do oil heating but curious to learn from a pro. nice close-up shots show and tell thank you for making videos
Oil valve was working so - that much air in line was/is either customer had run out of oil or oil line sucking air above level of oil in tank. I serviced oil systems for over 40 years. I've learned a great deal from your videos. I know making these videos is a lot of work, but your knowledge is vast and I watch them all, except for the chicken stories. Please keep doing what your doing and THANKS. BTW - with all the money you spend on tools and equipment, how do you live?
Steve that is a Williamson thermoflow boiler. Weil McLain family using the old model sections. Also I use tigerloop when there is a overhead line really like the ultra model w the filter. Good video as usual
Hi Steve, well done. I cant help noticing you do a lot of oil fired boilers, is that mainly because fuel oil is cheaper than natural gas in your area-? Im in the Midwest and (most) everything we have here is forced air natural gas furnaces, usually only see boilers in commercial buildings.
Usually folks have oil heat because there is no natural gas available, and electricity is too expensive to use for heat......that is how it is here in central MD at least.
Steve, I was wondering why your neighbors have oil heat and your house has natural gas, I would think the neighbors would want natural gas since it is available?
ok maybe a dumb question . why did they go to 140 lbs., psi on the afg and other burners , is it to use smaller nozzles ?????? run better? to run longer fuel lines? as the fuel gets more expensive you would want to use less fuel, no? I know no dumb questions, lol
I think gloves are great, but with high heat situation you should be careful with those disposable gloves. They are flammable, and everyone makes mistakes. Just put a torch to them and you'll see what I mean.
I like the idea of preheating the oil supply by fixing to the boiler's return pipe. 😁
Good job, keeping the neighborhood warm. Lavimoniere Chicken Ranch/Plumbing/Heat

Interesting to see other heating methods throughout the states.
In Texas, it is either electric heat strips or natural gas / propane..

got my answer
It looks like it's for heat and domestic hot water!
Too bad whoever installed it ran the return line directly in front of the boiler like that rendering the swing out door feature pretty much useless.
