    A hack I use when applying eyeliner on the waterline/ tight line : Use a q-tip to wipe away any moisture before applying the liner. (I get my tight line nice and dry) It REALLY helps your liner to last much longer!

    Hi! Nail tech here! Yes the UV gel top coat method is legit! Just make sure your normal lacquer underneath is fully dry!!! That’s very important! Also another tip for the polish on the skin issue is put your top coat on and get some top coat on the polish you got on your skin and then take a cuticle pusher the tip end not the scoop end and it’ll just come right off giving you a super clean line!❤

    • @katgirlblue

      Does the gel top coat dry out the nails, and will it work without UV light? Thanks!

    • @keelyboulter1992
      @keelyboulter1992 ปีที่แล้ว +21

      @@katgirlblue the gel top coat has to have the uv light yes. And it won’t dry you out more than any other nail enhancement. Now as always there’s always risk of allergies and you CAN become allergic to gel and uv products over time. It’s rare but it can happen! Always remember to oil those cuticles ladies! I hope this helps ❤️

    Hi Tati, I recently heard a tip about doing Gel manicures. Apparently, the UV lights that are used to cure the nails can cause a lot of sun damage to our hands. So, whenever you use the light make sure you have sunscreen on your hands to stop them from aging prematurely. I never thought about it before, but it makes total sense. We are constantly protecting our faces from UV. ❤

    Here is a tip that I wanted to share. It’s been a game changer for me. I struggled with my lashes falling after I curled them. The tip is:
    1. Curl lashes
    2. Put a whisper of WATERPROOF mascara on first.
    3. Put second coat of your favorite mascara.
    Your lashes will not fall, they will hold the curl til you take off your makeup 💄 ❤️🤯❤️

    My favorite hack for rejuvenating old mascara: fill a cup with boiling (or at least very hot) tap water, then stick the mascara tube into the cup, after first making sure that the tube is tightly sealed (you never want to add water to the mascara itself; you add bacteria to the mascara and that's not good). Let the tube sit in the hot water for about five minutes, then remove the tube, dry it off, and use like usual. The dried, thick mascara on the inside of the tube will have softened and thinned out, making it very much like new.

    I love the robe tip! Works amazing and I’m Curvy and always felt self conscious in a robe before! Also, you can cause fungal or even bacterial infections in your nails by applying gel topcoat to regular polish. It does look amazing though! But maybe not worth the risk? ❤

    • @Trailerpark_pretty
      @Trailerpark_pretty ปีที่แล้ว

      The only way it could cause an infection is if you don’t Sanitize the product before using or if the regular polish hasn’t dried fully before applying the gel topcoat, causing moisture underneath. I’ve done this a couple times and honestly the gel topcoat just separates on top of the regular polish.. if you can make it look good and prefer it then so be it haha😂 not my cup of tea though

  • @awesome654321
    @awesome654321 ปีที่แล้ว +33

    Yes! I love this! My one concern is about the polish. I had the same thought, but when I looked into it, people said it might not be a good idea only because it never gives the normal polish an opportunity to fully dry. This traps moisture under the topcoat and can potentially lead to an infection. Just wanted to let you know what I heard! Love the oily hair trick though, im definitely about to try that ❤ love you girl!

    The older I get, the more grateful I am that I never got used to using foundation. I have a really odd, fussy skin colour - because I'm mixed ethnically, I'm pinkish pale in winter and golden brown in summer. So I got sick of feeling like I needed to have 15 foundation colours to match accurately and just gave up. I've gotten used to my natural skin because of it, and I never have to deal with the staining and fussy application of different skin coverage products. Some may say "not everyone has that option" - I had severe acne for stages in my 20s and I just let it be what it was - I always felt like people would see it anyway (the texture), just painted, so I may as well get used to it.

      Yes, I was taught to keep a silk scarf for this purpose. Also, years ago I worked at Bergdorf Goodman and the people who worked in the designer clothes area always gave the client a large square silk scarf to put over their head to try on clothes, otherwise there would be makeup on the clothes, and also it ruins the client's hair! It's the same principle as using a silk pillowcase, which anyone with hair should do!

It’s because some times I just dip the brush into the foundation or pump the foundation onto the brush making them so uneven and wet, while if I pump the foundation onto a surface and first buff the brush it goes on so much better!

    For those of you confused about the robe belt tying hack, instead of threading the belt through the belt loops from the back of the robe, thread it through the loops from the front of the robe. Then go ahead and tie it in the front as is usually done. You won’t have any of the belt in the back of your robe. However, you’ll have to remove the belt in order to remove your robe.

    I LOVE tips & tricks. So here is mine... I use my Elf Taupe eyebrow pencil to overline my lower lip and in the center of my cupids bow. I then buff with my ring finger. It gives such a suttle shadow making your lips appear larger.

    I am 💟-ing these solutions and reading other's tips in the comments.
    Nice community vibe.
    I prefer using a glass bottle because the formulation can shift pH levels, which can affect plastic. I also like using "dark" glass because it helps preserve the efficacy of the formula.
    I have a few in the fridge. It's an amazing sensory experience, while also adding to product longevity.

    I don't know about the other tricks, but the thumb one is the WINNER!!! I have been using that tip for years and can't go back to my old ways anymore!! What I do for a clean up on thumbs is, I get my detail clean up brush and dip that one into acetone and use it for clean up. You can buy fancy brushes or like me just get cheap eye brow liner brushes that are thin and precise and get the job done 🤭🤭

    I totally had a lightbulb moment when you talked about micellar water in a spray bottle to remove makeup! I recently fell in love with the One Size Beauty spray makeup remover, and use a clean washcloth to remove my makeup before cleansing. The washcloth helps to gently exfoliate my skin, as well as helps me avoid making a HUGE mess of my bathroom sink 😂
    So now instead of spending twice the amount of money on a spray makeup remover, I'm just going to put micellar water in a spray bottle. ABSOLUTELY GENIUS!! Tati out here saving the girlies ALL THE MONEY!❤

    I love regular Seche Vite.. might have to give the gel one a try!

    • @miscdruid1994
      @miscdruid1994 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Just be careful with seche vite. Don’t let it hit your skin. The toluene can cause exposure allergies depending on how sensitive you are to that chemical. I personally recommend indie brands like sassy sauce polish, bees knees lacquer, or cuticula nail polish! Take care.

    • @nkurdy288
      @nkurdy288 ปีที่แล้ว

      The blue bottle Seche Vite gives the same result without the UV lamp btw.

    Semi-cured gel nail wraps or just nail wraps in general with a gel builder + top coat. No mess, tons of designs, long lasting, pro nails at home, lower learning curve, no damage and easy to change out as you see fit. Nail wraps totally changed my nail game. Shout-out to Embrace Your Style and Defreese Designs.

    The bath robe and t shirt over the face tips are genius! Another one for painting your nails is just to let them dry and then add a little water to any areas where you got paint on your skin and then just take your fingernail to scrape it off. Nail polish doesn’t want stick to skin. (I think I read this in Allure magazine years ago).
