I am 65. Hearing all of you worry about your age is making me remember when I felt the same. Girls, you will age, get lines, old lady arms etc. . Take good care of yourself. Eat your veggies! Less alcohol. Don’t smoke. Practice good skin care! Do not forget your neck and chest! Use your sunscreen! Then, sit back, have fun, enjoy your life! A happy life looks good on your face! When you are my age you will lookin the mirror and reap the rewards of your work. Yes, you will look older, but, the more you do now the more it will pay off later! You will not look 20 at 65 but you will look like a darn fine woman who is aging well and looking great!

Thank you so much Estelle. Some people will say your advice is vane and 'looks don't matter" but I agree that it makes a huge difference when you take care of your skin and you see the results...when I was 16 I started using face cream to moisturize and my mom got angry at me bc she said I was too young to use any cream...like what the heck hahahha. Thank god I now take really good care of my skin!

Me at 49. I've had no self confidence all my life. I thought it would get easier. But I feel like the whole social media makes it even harder for woman. Especially younger woman. Or if you can't buy products that you are led to believe you "need" to be beautiful. So I'm learning to like my body. At the end of the day it's the vessel that takes you through life. It's no WHO you are. That is your soul inside. So I'm learning to think kindly about my body and appreciate what it does for me. I would NEVER say the things I say about myself to my girlfriends! So maybe I shouldn't say it to myself. Just learn to love you ladies. Beauty on the inside will last forever. The outside will change. You are all powerful, beautiful creatures xxx

As a 70 year old who lost my husband of 23 years at age 50, to brain cancer I appreciate getting here. Some of us don’t get the chance to age. All the scars, wrinkles, and gray hairs are EARNED! You do and have always looked amazing. When people “rag” on you it is jealousy, plain and simple. Those people are not worth the effort of responding. And in my opinion, Puka is adorable and sweet. Love on him as long as you can! ❤️❤️🐾❤️

I did Botox for years, would spend on average $650 + per visit. Every time, I would need more and more units, despite me being compliant and getting it every 3-4 months. Once I moved out of SoCal I stopped and never been happier. Not only is Botox expensive, but it also plays subconsciously on the maintenance of combating something that is natural (the process of aging), and embracing it as it happens.

  • @jmcg1029
    @jmcg1029 ปีที่แล้ว +17

I’m 41 and find it refreshing that you are embracing your natural beauty and focusing on your skin. I’ve been doing this because I can’t afford Botox and fillers myself . But I feel like there’s this push on social media like I’m supposed to get that done and I feel like we’re doing all women of all ages a real disservice. If you can afford it and it makes you feel good then great, but it’s certainly not necessary and women are still beautiful without it. Focusing on good skincare regimen can really do wonders.

At 57 I look back on my life when I modeled and danced and did all the cool things…..I see my knuckles changing and getting crooked, I don’t wear heels anymore, just cool boots, and I see my face and eyes changing and I adapt my makeup. But I clip in hair, glue on lashes, gloss my lips, drape highlighter…dress cool, collect art, travel to my ranch in New Mexico…..youth gives way to retirement and travel. Don’t stress it. Things change and that’s the truth.- suanne nutter

I turn 40 next year and I can't wrap my head around it. I'm not sure what 40 is supposed to feel like, but I just don't feel it. Thanks to great skincare and following advice from people like yourself my skin is in a phenomenal place. But I'm noticing my hair is getting lighter, and the baby hairs are slowing down. But aging with grace is my goal, because the goal is to get old.

So happy you’re no longer doing Botox! Natural beauty is the way to go. Aging is so precious and a gift. Been strict with skincare since my late teens so when people guess my age, they always give me younger and flip when they find out. Another important product to use whether rain or shine: sunscreen!!! It is the best anti-ager out there and to be used after a skincare regimen.

Regarding the last question you answered about BBL, I believe the person meant BBL as in the broadband light/laser treatment for the skin, and not a butt lift 😅. I've had BBL done to hide capillaries around my nostrils that made the skin look red and irritated. I know it's also used to help with skin damage like sunspots and stuff!

I try to age gracefully by using good skincare and being very consistent with it. Morning and night…I never skip. I also rotate products so my skin doesn’t get too used to something. I don’t know…I just get sick of people shaming WOMEN for aging. I’d rather get old and watch my kids have kids than the opposite. Love you Tati!!! Thank you for being so open. I feel like this "slicking" method isn't going to have the same benefits as slugging would. I understand why some people would be hesitant because of the texture, however the whole point of slugging is that you're using an occlusive ingredient on your skin. Occlusives are things like petrolatum, dimethicone, waxes, etc. The point of using an occlusive is that you're locking moisture into your skin and reducing TEWL (trans epidermal water loss). Oils are emollients, which also moisturize, but they don't have the effects as an occlusives. It's possible to have a sensitivity to occlusives, but this isn't true for everyone. Definitely don't be afraid to try vaseline or other occlusives if you haven't before, vaseline especially is great for your skin, it's the BEST occlusive you can use and it's so affordable to get.

46 year old with oily skin here. I've been doing the "slicking" as the last step in my skincare routine for several years now. I use the tamanu oil from Erin's Faces. It's perfect for breakout oily skin, but also works for other skin types. I've never had any procedures (I'm a teacher... no money for that) and people always think I'm younger than I am. I credit that to taking care of my skin for the past 12-15 years as well as wearing sunscreen everyday. You look beautiful! And don't let anyone tear you down for your age. It is indeed a blessing to grow old.

Tati you hit the nail on the head. My mom, who has been studying medicine and dermatology has said the same thing. When you inject a neurotoxin into the skin over an extended amount of time, eventually those muscles will atrophy, and we are going to see adverse affects in the future. It’s not preventative like they advertise. It can create dimpling in the forehead as well. Same with fillers- young women getting these lip injections are stretching and stretching their lips to the max, in which two things are happening- the filler migrates outside the line of the lips, and also when you stop or get the filler dissolved, the lips are then left wrinkly and thin. This isn’t to say if anyones gotten fillers or botox that your destined to have these things happen- this would happen over a long period of time. But it isn’t something that’s talked about enough and it needs to be. I applaud you for being honest and also being an advocate for aging, and doing it in a way that is based on research. We still have so much more information now than we did 30 years ago that we can do things differently to help the process of aging

I’m also 41 this year and I’m LOVING the Strength Trainer moisturiser on your recommendation. It’s the first time I’ve repurchased a product several times in years. I’ve literally just purchased the Ole Henrikson oil (I paused this to add to cart!)to try as well as it sounds like a great addition.
I’m fairly new to Botox- I’ve had it done every 6 months for the last two years as that’s plenty for me. I don’t have any real lines yet so it’s more of a preventative measure. Some of my closest friends hadn’t realised I’d had it done until I told them, it seems to give me that ‘I’ve just come off a relaxing holiday’ look and has the added benefit of completely eradicating the tension headaches I suffered from nearly daily. I had to take painkillers to function so the Botox is probably better for me in the long run 🤷🏼‍♀️. I’ve never had fillers and don’t think I ever will, I just don’t love how it looks. I’ve noticed that people generally look fantastic when they first get it done and then it gets overdone or migrates.
I’m eternally grateful to my mother who bought me my first facial SPF to wear everyday when I was 12. This really has helped my skin! My younger sister was given the same and completely ignored the advice- she was the rebellious one- she now gets mistaken for the older sister which she absolutely hates 😂😂😂🙈.
It’s a privilege to age but I will always lust after beautiful, juicy looking skin!
Loving the content. You are glowing!

Great video Tati, thank you! I turned 41 last october and I feel no different to when I was 39!! I'm still rough around the edges with plenty of health issues, the only difference is that I'm just not going to panic about it. Would I like better skin, sure, should I try to, yep why not eh! But I also have been honest with myself and said, my skin is not the best, because I haven't invested the time or effort into getting it sorted ( trial & error) but I have to say, I'm comfortable with understanding that we age, it's a blessing to be able to, ( Thank you God)
I will say, I'm really enjoying seeing your expressions on your face, I warm to people that aren't straight faced all the time, it helps me to feel more connected outside of our four walls, plus also, you seem far more beautifully comfortable with how you present yourself. Anyways, I'm waffling now, sorry!! Have a blessed day 🕊

I'm so refreshed by this video, beautiful Tati! I became a follower when you first got engaged to James, and I watched you for years but then I just sort of stopped watching youtube. I clicked on your page today to check in, and I noticed immediately how gorgeous and natural you look! Continue to age gracefully, as you are stunning! Way to inspire!! You honestly look younger than before! It's unreal!! The world needs more beacons of beauty aging naturally. And I love how you said 'Praise God!' Yes yes yes! He is truly shining in and through you. May our Lord continue to light your path and prosper you always. xo

I’ve been unable to keep up with all your videos since Covid with the decline of my husbands health. I try my best to make time to watch you just to see how you are. How are you Tati? I hope you and your family are feeling better than ever.
I believe that we age for the better and good. When we act our age mentally we become become more responsible and honest with ourselves and others. That inner peace and wanting good for others then shines on the outside which makes us look younger. Tati you’re beautiful inside and out, with and without any aesthetics. It’s a lot of pressure in the industry to keep up, wish we could just keep up doing without.

Tati you are amazing! You look better than ever. I think that happiness can't be hidden and it's obvious that your life changes make you glow.
I'm 38 and I am very commited on skincare. And yes I am a little scared about the changes that will happen more noticeably when I reach 40.
But like one of your followers said: the goal is to get old.
    Love you!😊

I started using the Ole Henriksen strength trainer moisturizer a few weeks ago after seeing you recommended it and it’s already changed my life. I live in New England and my combo skin gets soooo dry this time of year. And it doesn’t give me acne in the oily sections of my face. Thank you so much for the rec!

Love that you are discovering new techniques if slugging doesn't work for you. Didn't know this was called slicking but as someone with verryyyyy dry skin I have been doing this for years especially in winter as well as a drop of oil in my foundations. Slugging just is even better for me. Good drugstore options are the Burt's Bees glow booster for this or their rosehip facial oil!

All slugging does is occlude your pores all night long, preventing any moisture evaporation from your face to occur so that when you wake up your face feels plump. It is a temporary condition. That’s why if you’re acne prone, it will cause breakouts. That’s how those Korean paper facial masks soaked in stuff work. It really doesn’t matter what they are soaked in. They prevent temporary evaporation of moisture from your face. Ps-Puka’s adorable and you’re as young as you feel.😊

Tati , I’m 41 and I get Botox only for migraines, it does help the forehead but I want to stop per the reasons you said about the muscles getting weak and not being the same. I’m absolutely terrified of that! Iv gotten it done going on 4 -5 years 😢 I want to stop so bad. You are right about the age thing! It’s finally hitting me where I notice my age in photos. I feel bad that I shame myself when I should love that God had given me my life and the time to age. You are 💯 right when you say this is life’s process and we need to let go of the Barr we need to look young forever. Thanks for this video. It really hit home and is helping me come to terms and be more confident in my age. 🥰😘 I appreciate you and your honesty.

    Hi Tati!
Love the honesty. I met you YEARS ago…I believe it was IMATS 2009. You were so kind.
I’m a Licensed Aesthetician - in terms of eye cream, the reason it is important as a separate step is due to the size of molecules in most products. The skin under our eye is different than the rest of face and can’t absorb the size of the molecules that tend to be in face products, so eye specific products are made with smaller molecules.
If using an eye cream it is recommended to put it on first to make sure the rest of the skin care product used doesn’t prevent the eye cream from absorbing.
100% bring skincare down the neck and chest! On point!
Great advice on Botox/filler -research, research, research! Go to a reputable facility!!!
Also, it’s important to note that even with Botox or fillers, skincare is still very important if not more important if you are going to invest in it. Botox alone will not give lasting results or healthy skin.
A good injector will have you get on a good skin regime and see what’s results you can get with that and THEN do injections. Likely you’ll need less units depending on your goal :)
As an Aesthetician I won’t due certain services like chemical peels unless a client is on a good skincare routine because the goal is to have healthy happy skin long term.

Vaseline and Aquaphor aren't for everyone's skin type, but they are absolutely a godsend for some. My dermatologist told me straight to my face that I should use Vaseline as a last step in my skincare because of how dry and irritated my skin is.

40 years old. Started doing a little Botox in my forehead a couple years ago. My body holds is really well so I only go twice a year. Pretty lucky (genetics) that I don’t really have any crows feet or anything- and have good skin overall. But, I think everyone should do what makes them feel good. For me, that’s a little Botox. ALSO- 40 is YOUNG. Let’s stop thinking 40 is half dead, cause it’s not. Loving all the over 40 women in the comments hyping each other up ❤️

On eye creams - good ones do have slightly smaller molecule size and not as heavy of a formula which means that you are less likely to get clogging under the eyes which can cause milia/ those little white bumps. People might say I am buying the hype but I notice a difference using just moisturiser and using eye cream and moisturiser. Just thoughts.

I’m 42 and this video helped my mental state SO much. I feel like I hit 40 and aged a decade in a few months!
In my mind I’m still in my late 20s….Then I see my reflection 😣. Being single at this age sucks too.
I’m learning to accept myself (there is not really any other option) but it’s tough….all the same being negative and stressed about it is only going to age me faster! The more effort I put into my skin and attention to what I put in my body is really helping.
Thank you again for sharing. You are (always have been) stunning! I started using the Biossance squalane vit C rose oil and Omega cream about a year ago. Absolutely love them and no question it’s made a difference.
Going to give the oil you use a try also❤️

Well adding oil as a final skincare step isn't new or revolutionary. It's great for adding extra moisture to the skin, but it doesn't "lock moisture in". It's not an occlusive barrier, just an added moisturizer. If you want to lock moisture in without the greasy feeling of slugging, La Roche-Posay Cicaplast Balm is a dimethicone based product that has some extra beneficial ingredients that Vaseline doesn't have and creates a barrier to prevent water loss from the skin overnight.

I turn 41 this January....and I never feel so happy, I really don't care about my grey hair o wrinkles, I do admit I never been careful with my skin, and moving 7 years ago from a warmer weather in Venezuela to having 4 seasons, it's being a change....and my age and skin are feeling it! I start taking real care for my skin a few years ago when I started watching you, and I even now teach my 12 years old to start do some routine to care for her skin so she doesn't make the mistakes I made, I've being grateful with a beautiful skin but dosen't last forever....saying that, yes is important to take care of yourself from the inside out, but, gratefulness, God (mostly him) are what you need to always being beautiful and you are, the rest dosen't really matter, having love is the best skincare.
