This is not a song , but an opening title or main title written for orchestra. A song is when somebody is singing ! So stupid nowadays to call everything a song! 😖
What was so funny is that in some parts of the world JR is known a Gee R, or even Jockey. When they did the Dallas Reunion Show, I would have loved to have them show the actors who did the voiceovers in foreign countries. The folks of guiding light, did a online chat with the folks who do their voices in Italy known as Sentieri.
Me too i loved it from the very first episode however for me it got better and more interesting in the 80s . The plots and story lines got better it evolved and became an international hit watched around the world.
Still one of the best themes ever. Glad they improved it over time & never ruined it. The bass line during a certain early season sounded like a case of irritable bowel syndrome. 😄 Glad it was toned down.
*_great series..........(In Brazil, Dallas had its first seven seasons shown by TV Rede Globo during the 80's and, in 1989, the series was transferred to TV Bandeirantes, being shown until 1992_*
We loved watching "Dallas" and hearing the iconic title theme in its title sequence, and the 3-way split screen was used for 12 seasons on "Dallas" except in the final 2 seasons when it was only single screen elements in the title sequence, and "Dallas: J.R. Returns" and "Dallas: War of the Ewings." The 3-way split screen returned to "Dallas" in 2004 on "Dallas Reunion: The Return to Southfork" on CBS.
Que recuerdos, mi vida entera paso frente a mis ojos, cuántos recuerdos de ver Dallas en la TV con mis padres, que ahora ellos ya no están, me encanto el reboot aunque nunca va superar a la original, es un gran homenaje a la serie.
With Jenilee Harrison as Jaimie Ewing. I also remember Audrey Landers as Afton and Leigh McCloskey as Mitch being in the opening credits of earlier seasons.
The Paul Robinson character in Neighbours is obviously modelled on JR Ewing from Dallas. Neighbours is still going and I'm glad so is Paul Robinson. He's not as evil as ole JR though but it's nice to know where he gets his dodgy characterisation from. 🙂
As time goes on the intros got more and more exciting. But sometimes I just like listening to the 1978 intro. The newer ones sound more powerful though.
16:36 I was too young to enjoy this show while it was on but not too young to appreciate seeing Charlene Tilton butt naked in the hottub during the opening credits. When my parents watched, I waited through the opening credits for this and then promptly left the room. The revival series seems to show a similar scene with the beautiful Jordana Brewster, although I can't quite tell.
They had to resort to AI enhancement for the zoom in of the mansion in the 2012-2014 seasons. The area around it is so built up and so many buildings have been added to the property itself, it doesn't look like a ranch way out in the country anymore.
For me Linda Gray was the bomb .........don't get me wrong Victoria was also beautiful. But there was something about Linda and Sue ellen that i could relate too. And her acting being an alcoholic my God she had some amazing scenes. That face her eyes sorry to go on but in my humble opinion. Larry Hagman and Linda Gray carried that show their love/hate relationship. Both great actors once Linda left i lost i interest.
What Remake as they never Remade DALLAS but if your talking about the Revival as in Continuation imho that was just as Great for Later Seasons cause that is what it really was just New Seasons just like 12-20 so years later that is all as you have to remember they had to adapt w/ the Times! So the Series that aired on TNT was the Contiunation of the Series just Remake/Reboot but the Revival!
There was a different arrangement of the theme music every season the show aired. Not true of the continuation which used the same arrangement on all three of it's seasons.
Gosh it’s jarring when people who were there from day one are just abruptly gone from the credits, and even more jarring when they are just suddenly back.
My Main thing I vaguly remember as a young under 10 kid when this Series was on Live! Weekly back then as I was born in 1982 and kinda remember my Father telling us Kids that "IT'S LEAVE YOUR MOTHER ALONE AS IN HER DOWNTIME" as we would get chewed out if we bothered her during this show DALLAS as well as her other 3 of FACLON CREST, DYNASTY, & KNOTS LANDING as we weren't allowed t bother her unless it was a commercial break as my Father Tapped in as the Main Parent. As she I don't if she ever missed an episode of them 4 shows I listed. As FRIDAYS at our HOUSE was either ruled by ABC w/ TGIF or CBS w/ their Friday Block
I'm writing that my name is Josh and i'm writing that i would like it if Warner Bros. studios would make all 356 episodes from all 14 seasons of DALLAS available to stream on their streaming service MAX in February 2025.
It was Jerrold Immel who wrote the theme tune & scored the various arrangements of the theme every season. The TNT Cyntax series used a Rob Cairns theme arrangement of Immel's theme on the three seasons it ran which wasn't changed. It was the same arrangement from season one through to season three before it was axed due to poor ratings.
Talented cast in those opening titles. Pity the script writers in weren't so talented as series progressed with some terrible dead-end plots and recycled stories

Dallas was and still is one of my favorites from the 80's! This was true talent and great storytelling!!
Piensan retomar Dallas en el 2025 con Henry Cavill como hijo ilegítimo de JR Erving junto al elenco del 2012
Awesome! I can't wait to see it!@@jhonatanmuniz3349
I almost never missed a Dallas episode each Friday , back in 1979 . Loved the soundtrack !
One of the Best theme songs for a television show.
💯 agree amazing theme song ❤❤❤❤
I don't agree. I think it is the absolute best theme song!
The best TV theme song in history!
This is not a song , but an opening title or main title written for orchestra. A song is when somebody is singing ! So stupid nowadays to call everything a song! 😖
U goy that right c
I got to o meet Charlene Tilton a few years ago and she was so sweet! Humble and down to earth. Love you, Charlene!!
Just started to watch this series a few days ago..I'm enjoying it
Happy 75th Birthday Victoria Principal!

Best of the best!!! Thanks sooo much for this video!
The 1987-88 season opening version was my favorite with the heavy percussion.
Yes mine too so dramatic with punch to it. Just like the series ❤❤❤🎉🎉🎉🎉
I Loved the original.I just to run home from work on Friday night to watch it,
I love watching Dallas in the 80's
Me too i loved it from the very first episode however for me it got better and more interesting in the 80s . The plots and story lines got better it evolved and became an international hit watched around the world.

The bass line during a certain early season sounded like a case of irritable bowel syndrome. 😄 Glad it was toned down.
The reason it was never ruined is because every year Jerrold Immel who created the theme scored the new arrangement. Thank you, Jerry.
One of the very best TV Themes ever....gets me each and every time....
The theme tune stands up well, it's as great today in 2024 as it's always been.
Dack Rambo and Lesley-Anne Down are missing! ;)
We watched it even in cameroon Africa in the 80's very nice👍
Love it it was popular world wide ❤
*_great series..........(In Brazil, Dallas had its first seven seasons shown by TV Rede Globo during the 80's and, in 1989, the series was transferred to TV Bandeirantes, being shown until 1992_*
It was extremely popular world wide 🎉🎉🎉🎉❤❤❤❤
Dallas doesn't look like the opening credits anymore. Dallas is a huge metropolis. My cousin just moved their and he loves it!
That's what the Sun Belt phenomenon will do.
Perhaps the credits of the Reboot might be more accurate now
We loved watching "Dallas" and hearing the iconic title theme in its title sequence, and the 3-way split screen was used for 12 seasons on "Dallas" except in the final 2 seasons when it was only single screen elements in the title sequence, and "Dallas: J.R. I love Dallas so much
So do I
It's never been bettered. When it finished back in 1991 no series ever came close to it's popularity, not even Friends!
Greatest theme tune ever I loved 87 88 one best
great theme a classic when tv shows had themes
Yes gave them a diffirent feel just added something. 🎉❤
My mom And I always watched it😊
Would’ve been good to get 3 tile card for JR in 2012 :(
Geiles Video. Meine Nr1 Serie. Der Theme ist mega gut und Ohrwurm
Henry schaap most loved and exciting show Dallas ever put on TV.
So good always loved Dallas
The great texas oil and land wars. Also a reference to the SMU - TCU rivaly. Oklahoma vs Texas = small potatoes.
The one opening that they are missing from was from a TV movie prequel. Otherwise, this was great!
Miss Ellie ( Barbara Bel Geddes) Ist die beste 😍🤎👍
German I can understand
The Dallas theme song is legendary
It's as good today in 2024 as it's always been.
Excellent All intros!! 👌👍
Except the first one ........no Linda Gray
@@francinezane4076 She wasn't in the very first one, neither for that matter was Ken Kercheval they weren't added until much later.
God bless the whole cast for an eternity love 💕
Yes! And God bless you!!
Around the late '80s I had stopped watching Dallas but it will always be a legendary TV show.
Iconic!!!
YES 🎉🎉🎉🎉
I was a Freshman in High School when Dallas ended in 1991.
I was in my 20s
@@francinezane4076 So was I & I cried when it finished.
Me and my grandparents are fans of the Dallas Cowboys and always will be
There's one season missing - the one from 83 / 84 - ironically the best of all the intros IMHO
I noticed that too. That one was the last one to have the original skyline in it's opening. Obviously had to update since Dallas grew enormously.
Yes, the season 5 orchestration is repeated under the season 7 visuals (so we don't get to hear season 7).
A l'époque je me souviens que Dack RAMBO, alias Jack EWING, figurait dans la distribution de la s10. Cordialement.
With Jenilee Harrison as Jaimie Ewing.
I also remember Audrey Landers as Afton and Leigh McCloskey as Mitch being in the opening credits of earlier seasons.
watching Victoria Princable strutting across the pasture took me back to my pre-teen years
Even me who is gay...
I know! She's so beautiful!!
I did not notice it but Larry Hagmans Dallas character reminded one of Stefan Dennis Neighbours character in many ways.
The Paul Robinson character in Neighbours is obviously modelled on JR Ewing from Dallas. Neighbours is still going and I'm glad so is Paul Robinson. He's not as evil as ole JR though but it's nice to know where he gets his dodgy characterisation from. 🙂
Linda Gray... best
Linda is still The bomb ❤
There is also missing the different credits used for the episode with J.R's funeral.
As time goes on the intros got more and more exciting. But sometimes I just like listening to the 1978 intro. The newer ones sound more powerful though.

My Oma was seriously impressed when she drove through the interstate loops! Visit me in Houston!

Tis song so iconic
Dallas the original better than the remake
They were both awesome!!
What is better than the original?
Ah ah güzel günlerdi

@@SchofieldAJ Thanks
Good old J.R.
A man w3 all lov3d hating
*Definitely* like the last one produced optically (10:02) the best! I want it in True 4K! The digital letters even look odd...
Blimey, how many times did they re-record the opening theme?
Well, 14 seasons, 2 movies, 3 of the next generation - with ever evolving cast 😁 - not surprising.
There was a different arrangement of the theme music every season the show aired. Not true of the continuation which used the same arrangement on all three of it's seasons.
W Dallas
I didn't know they used old H.L. Hunt mansion for the intro shot. The fictitious Ewing family was based of the Hunt family.
No Dack Rambo?
LOVE

Sie ellen for ever
Good to see you again, even many things are oly fantesies, made up stories.
Dallas och fina låten avmattias Dahlberg.

11:22 for me season '86/'87
Losing Jim Davis hurt the show badly
Texas Stadium
Und dann ließ Larry Hagman Patrick Duffy allein in der Wichskabine und nichts war mehr, wie vorher😟
