Cyberpunk has a tech that i forgot the name of. It allow to generate the mouth movements based on the audio file of the npc in all languages. I would lead more toward something like that
every videogame needs the obligatory NPC saying "whatever you say" lol. Besides that though, I believe this is a great addition to immersion. let's not forget this is where Star Citizen has been born from. Creating an immersive life-like universe.
I could see this working pretty well, curious to hear what it sounds like with the volumes at default. Also pretty weird to hear multiple conversations with the same VA in the same area
To this day the best in game npc mmo dialogue I have ever heard was in Pirates of the Burning Sea on Cat Island in the tavern. 2 pirates talking in the corner complete with a 4th wall break that you could not help but stop and listen. The whole conversation was over 5 minutes long and I would stop and listen to the whole thing because it was engaging and downright hilarious to listen to 2 pirates talk about loading and using there pistols, shooting off there own toes, and the pros and cons about being stabbed by a cutlass :D This... I heard the emp line at least 3 times with 2 different answers. Didnt sound like something you wanted to stop and listen to or pull out some in game lore for the immersion
I hope they will set voicelines linked to the locations so people from new babbage would have different subjects/accents than those on Lorville and completely different from those on pyro's stations (just for each capital planets, not for all space stations or outposts). Having unique dialogues that you can listen to some place only like mass effect can be great if you want to create an organic narrative without pushing you too much into reading the galactapedia entirely
description: From a 4.0 EVO build allowing videos, showing the new conversations between npcs in New Babbage with speech volume set to max and other sounds lowered.
Not gonna lie, their body language doesnt mirror the conversations and the audio is coming straight from your head. That just felt like you are reading their thoughts
Too much. Would be better if it was indistinct background chatter and only clearly understandable within a certain range, dropping off the further away you are.
"Hey man, while the backend team works on the server, a task you are literally not qualified to do, can you add some code that makes use of these voicelines that were recorded by the audio team, also people who are not qualified to work on the backend server stuff? Just so you don't sit around on payroll and do nothing all day" Same for people that say "stop making ships, fix servers". I don't like the development process of Star Citizen, but this argument is so goddamn uninformed
@ “showing the new conversations between npcs in New Babbage with speech volume set to max and other sounds lowered.” Player specifically set the volume of npc dialogue to the max and lowered everything else. this isnt how it is always lmfao, you could even turn it off if you want. what a stupid comment
too many british accents ..because if its the same at Hurston Crusader Arcorp, thye will have to either add more variety or give planets have different accents .
If that was an accent problem. It's a language problem, it's not just an American game its crowdfunded, and I'd love to hear speaking French, but I think it will never happen. At least with British I don't have an issue trying to punch them in the face (It's culturally accepted ! :-P )
Nah bro, that's just the voices in your head!
I'm convinced this is what Soulsinger is. Dynamic conversations. Oblivion conversation for the modern age.
That would be StarConvo
@@ulisetoare you kidding or is that serious
@@AnyOther-NameTo be honest it would make more sense
Soulsinger is patented as a new IP aka game not a tool mechanic.

This is like one of those manic episode simulation vids on YT.
Next on the Pledge Store: Bosse noice Cancellation headsets for $150
Very promising. You just need the right volume settings for it to not be too annoying.
It's an ETF build, tunning is yet to be made, that's why they're spamming AF :D

Nobody reads the description. Its the truth and its irrelevant if you think otherwise.
I would love to hear them say "I could not go to my sport course this morning, damn f@# elevators out of service"
“My PT kept t posing so I left”

It's nice to have no NPCs standing on chairs or desks.
I hope there's a setting to lower NPC volume; otherwise, it might drive me crazy.

Engineering died for this
Underrated comment
gonna get old pretty fast im sure .. especially with the repeating texts in different areas..
Better than total and complete silent NPCs
A1 and A2 ready to calm the Fcuk out of my quiet newbalance
They are bit too loud for casual speakers.
Ya it needs a lot of refinement for sure. Also needs A LOT more diversity in phrases.
Read the description lol
The voice volume is turned all the way up for demo purposes. Maybe Elder scrolls vibes here LOL

I saw a Vanduul the other day. Horrible creatures. Do you get to the Central Business district very often? Oh, what am I saying - of course you don't.
I agree it needs to be pitched down significantly unless you're having a direct conversation with an NPC.
read description before commenting!
it can be toned down in the settings
Isn't this just going to make the server performance worse? when are they gonna fix that??
Needs to be toned down a bit, couldn't imagine trying to talk on discord with that going on.

it needs a bit of ambient chatter in the background for the more crowded zones. not bad for a first iteration though.

Is this useful to have in an MMO? And if so, does it justify 13 years of dev for this MMO? Just wake up, your game doesn't work.
They didn't spend 13 years developing this. Use some common sense

There is a dialog sound option, also they will tune it at some point.
