Iv got the nespresso advent calendar but iv already used it lol there are Christmas ones in it this year so don't give up hope with it lol but days 10 is......well put it this way it went down the sink. Good luck with that one haha love you xxx

I literally had the same reaction. I sat with my jaw dropped and had to back up and re-read the last couple chapters and come back. I still kept saying wait no over and over. I’ve been in a book hangover ever since
So my mom past away 4 days ago. The only thing that has made me smile is seeing your vlogs. Just for a little bit I can forget what had happened and feel somewhat happy. So thank you for what you do

Pro tip, or just some thing I’ve learned - take pictures of what you’ve decorated so far with the items you have, as well as other items you plan to use. Then, when you go shopping, you can match better. 😊😊😊 And take pics of areas you want to decorate, so if you see something that would go perfectly, buy it! Lol
Would you ever consider a thin, sleek, light coloured wooden mantle? It would bring a touch of colour to the area and you can place greenery, little items or stockings to decorate.
Idea: put the blue glass tree under your TV in your bedroom for the height. If the tree is open on the bottom, stuff some copper wire fairy lights in there!
Great idea! Spray paint it first if the colour doesn't work.
Get a big wreath for above the TV!!! Like a snowy pine wreath!!! That would be beautiful!!
I think if you put warm toned pillows (cognac leather kind of tones) on the couch and a darker blanket on the chair, it would balance the room out, maybe warmer accessories on the coffee table too. I’d also suggest a small drink table or tall basket, maybe a floor lamp beside the chair so that it’s not there alone, it would help ground it. For in front of the fireplace, some tall decor is needed on either side in different heights, trees and/or nutcracker that’s a single colour would look good.

My thoughts while you were decorating. What I would do if it were my home, so, take it or leave it 😉:
1. Garland over the mirror in the living room.
2. Wreaths on windows and your range hood.
3. You need bells.
4. Pine cones and cinnamon sticks in your office pumpkin bowl.
5. Put a slim Christmas tree in your bedroom to bring the vibes up stairs.
6. Sticking to adding just a couple colors, like dark green and black accents with your minimalist home would make things more cohesive. But make sure the items have texture and warmth to make an impact. Like black and green plaid blanket on the couch. Or dark green velvet throw pillows.
7. If you like the idea of adding something to your tree other than ornaments, try buying a slim, velvet ribbon to tie to some of the branches.
8. Symmetry tends to look good with modern or minimalist decor. Instead of going asymmetrical.
9. Possibly add a 4ft ish tree or something else that size by the fireplace to add interest to that corner.
I now say “touch of fall” and “touch of Christmas” because of Tara! That’s how I’m decorating this year since I just had a baby.. touch of Christmas!🎄 💚

Find some little risers (jar lid, small boxes) to put uner you little glass trees to raise them to show above the garland. Your house looks great!

I think for the chair in the living room vibe you either need a white comfy reading chair OR a white ottoman that matched the couch. I think the problem is that it’s the only thing that tone of wood. It’s also less of a big comfy chair vibe and more of a dining room chair type of vibe if that makes sense?? 💞

I'm loving the chair in the living room. If you wanted to make it look more intentional you could get a very small circular side table to put beside it and a tall lamp that sits behind the table (create sort of a triangle with the 3 items). It could become a little reading setup, even if you don't plan to read there. Also, if you want to tie the coffee table and chair together to make things cohesive, maybe try a tray in a light wood on top of the table.
I think garland with lights on the painting by the tv and the mirror by the Christmas tree will look great.
Hi Tara. You can use the amazing Command Hooks to string your garland. It won't hurt your walls or any other furniture you stick them on. And it's easy to remove. I like your wooden chair there by the window, maybe put a Xmas pillow on the chair to add color. Just a suggestion. ❤

For the garland over the fireplace, do it straight, shorter, don't hang it over the sides and just do it like a border between the tv and fireplace, spaced evenly between the two. Add little sprigs of snowy pines or cranberries for pops of color if you want.

Edit: okay hear me out!!!! A Christmas tree canopy tent with pillows and blankets inside as a reading nook! It's basically a few slates of posts tied at the top with fabric and garland, lights and tree ornaments wrapped around the top and legs! Google it cause I'm definitely not doing it justice!
I would put a small light up tree either side of the fireplace ❤

I found that green marble tree you bought recently at my local TJ Maxx but also a slightly larger marble one in taupe that matches it and wow they are so cute together on my mantle. Love them.
The bowl on the console put fairy lights in the bottom and fill with clear Christmas balls
Out of all the way things I thought would be left as a cliff hanger in Iron Flame I did NOT expect that one and fair to say i cry laughed out of pure shock 😅😂
Love the start of the decor for the Holiday season. As for the fireplace, I think just a small mantel in the same wood finish as your kitchen cabinets would be pretty. It would give you just a small area for decor and would add to the fireplace.

I think I have the exact same fireplace as you in my new build! We did that so the tv could be low enough because there’s nothing I dislike more than having a tv so high up you feel like you’re trying to look at the sky lol. I’m sad I don’t have room for a mantel though but the trade off will be worth it.
You could hang stars from the ceiling above the tv😍 some big Christmas stars that light up in different heights ✨✨

love the decor so far. from what you have, i'd say everything is coming together. whenever you go back to target, home sense or any other store, i would get a few minimal decorations to fill in the space. anything white, beige and or black. other than that, it's looking good 🥰 also, i think the wreath will look so cute on your bedroom door. as for the tv/fireplace, i would say, just have twinkle lights around it. personally i don't think it needs anything in the middle. lights with some acorns on it would be cute. 😊
