    Before you watch, I’ll just sum it up instead of wasting your 13 minutes. Basically he makes this whole video to explain what color depth to use and make sure you use 4K UHD setting and in advanced setting check mark everything that makes your tv look better. Most of us already have his though so this video doesn’t help anyone

    The setting must be set to 8-bit. if your tv receives an HDR source it automatically goes to 10-bit . What you're essentially doing when you set to 10-bit is that you're introducing a conversion of the 8-bit to 10-bit artificially which leads to a mathematical approximation and not the true reproduction of the source material. this is the main reason you don't set to 12-bit (there are others as well). You want your default material to output 8-bit as the game or video is intended to be shown as. Then when the Xbox One X detects an HDR game or HDR video, it will automatically switch to the color depth that the HDR game or video wants. This is for max fidelity.

      megaRATOR1 seems like u have an idea of how things work. Perhaps you can help me out. When I have the setting at either 8 or 10 bit, my TV flickers really bad. However, when I have it on 12 bit it works. Not sure if something is wrong with my setup. 1X plugs into my Yamaha RX-2050 receiver and so does my LG OLED 55EF9500. Thx.

      Scott Whyel Maybe you should do more research on cables & what techniques are used to isolate noise from other devices , & why closing in & wrapping the cables in circle ⭕️ can help bandwidth data communication, instead of laying cables flat traveling 12 to 15 feet across the room .

      Wrapping your cable isn't giving you more bandwidth. A high speed HDMI cable is 18gbps. Having it gold plated isn't making it any faster.

    1. Any hdmi certified 2.0 cable will do.
    2. 8 bit is fine as no sdr content is higher than 8 bit, it will auto switch to 10 bit when there is hdr content
    3. Stick to Standard colour, games are optimised to fit the needs of tv standards colour specifications, also it is widely known that pc rgb crushes black levels.
    And for tv settings, refer to optimal settings from avforums or similar sites. Keep it simple

    • @mohammadalikarimi8055
      @mohammadalikarimi8055 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Faisal Munayam You can use RGB as long as you set your tv to RGB (if it supports it). I prefer RGB compared to standard. However my tv supports RGB but you have to manually change it on the tv then change it on the console. Otherwise you will get crushed blacks just as you stated.

      Mohammad Ali Karimi The Full RGB setting is broken on the X. My 4K monitor supports full rgb, Still the image looks like dogshit when I switch over from the "standard" setting to full rgb. , And yes i have enabled full RGB on the monitor.

    HDR10 has "10" it for a reason. Its 10 bit my friend. You get no benefit from 12 bit, as the X does not support Dolby Vision hdr(which is 12 bit). Happy new year.

  • @rckrz6
    @rckrz6 6 ปีที่แล้ว +4

    Your video is completely wrong. You want to set it to 8 bit so you get rgb 4k 60hz with non hdr games.(non hdr games are 8 bit anyhow) You cannot exceed 18 gbps so it will use a compressed chroma otherwise. Xbox uses 10 bit yuv420 or 422 automatically no matter the setting for hdr if 8 bit 10 bit or 12 bit is selected

    You should be able to find premium certified HDMI cables for 15 bucks / 10 quid that will do the job and future proof. The HDMI cable that the Xbox ships with is good quality, people shouldn't need to go spending more unless it's not long enough.

  • @MCK888

    It is useless to put no panel at 12bit and no games are in 12 bit the best and to leave in 8 bit and the console automatically switches to 10 bit when it hates a content intended for this purpose. The 12 bit will only degrade the bandwidth every test proves it!

    Ok if you're talking about enabling ycc 422 and upscaling a LIMITED 12 bit signal then you would be correct i believe. This is all still very very complicating. I apologize for being a bit vulgar in my comments. I thought you were eluding to a full 12 bit signal not limited through hdmi. I just saw your post. I know it's a month ago so this is a late reply. But I thought I would respond anyway. I also have a Vizio 43-inch 4K that I got in September of 2017. Just like you I do not have HDR. But if you have or plan on getting the Xbox One X and from my opinion if you put your TV in these settings you will be pleasantly surprised by the picture quality and the color. Color Temp: cool
      Black detail: High
      Back light control : On
      Color space: Auto
      Gamma : 2.2
      Select picture mode: vivid
      Now tweak the settings for vivid (For games)
      Auto brightness control:Off
      Backlight: 100
      Brightness: 50
      Contrast: 56
      Color: 63
      Tint: 0
      Sharpness: 30
      For (movies) everything is the same except
      Color: 60
      For me these settings are night and day versus vizios calibrated setting that comes with the TV

      thanks man ill def try that! yo is ur "allow 4k" setting working? i set my resolution to 1080p cuz some games and just the general OS of the xbox looks much crisper and better in 1080p compared to 4k, but i want it to automatically switch to 4k when i load 4k games or movies but mine just stays at 1080p its really annoying idk what to do!! i called vizio and microsoft nobody knew the reason

    • @tcrviper
      @tcrviper 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      thegr8rambino okay I think I understand what you're asking, about "allowing 4K". On my Xbox One X under the display and sound video output setting, If you click on Advanced video settings, it comes up with a list on the right: allow 50 hz, allow 24 Hz, allow hdr (which is greyed out because I don't have hdr) allow 4K allow YCC 4:2:2. I have all of those ticked and I also have TV connection set to auto-detect. See if you have that set up like that, which I think he mentioned in this video. I haven't had any problems with any of my 4K enhanced games.

    • @thegr8rambino
      @thegr8rambino 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      tcrviper I have and only 4k movies switch, not 4k enhanced games like battlefront 2, skyrim, titan fall 2, etc I have to manually go and change it to 4k and back everytime.

      ThisguyQuake Yes, he doesn’t know what he’s talking ab. Don’t wrap your cables. Also, set it to 8 bit.

    4K advance So you don’t use the hdmi that comes with x? I bought a 4khdmi years ago when I got my Hisence tv it’s not the best tv in its not true 4K I’m sure of it because of the company or I could be wrong🤦🏽‍♂️ but I haven’t used my 4khdmi yet. Witch one do you think is the best way to game on cause I love pubg but the colors be off like it seem like it’s 5 a clock every time I get a match in idk it’s a weird vibe I get when I game. I put my output to game instead of standard in everything be glowing when I put it on standard 😔

      Jay MF The One ☝️ with Xbox One X , will get you that nice Chroma 4:2:2 upsampling . However , AudioQuest will get you a less noise reduction & faster bandwidth, due to isolation technology they use on these cables & gold plated will improve even less isolation from other devices that might interfere with cable .

    Should you turn 4.2.0 on or off tv can support 4:4:4 @ 10bit Xbox one x

  • @robhartley7155
    @robhartley7155 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    There is no 12 bit content bro . Dolby vision is 12 bit . I guarantee that your tv or monitor is 10 bit panel at max . Leave it on 8 bit it will auto switch to hdr 10 if you the equipment to do so . Leaving it on 12 bit will add input lag . 12 bit is useless on the Xbox
