Neil, the fact that he told you that this meant as much to him as it did you, means everything! You gave him a moment of his past back and let him relive it despite his health, and that clearly meant the world to him, in every bit of footage that smile/laugh/silliness, is all REAL and he's having just as good a time as you are with him! Not many people can say they met their heroes, let alone making such an impact in their heroes life! That's a beautiful thing bro. You legend.
Same here man! I've just watched all 3 videos back to back, an hour of giggling with tears in my eyes. This here is some feat! And his note to Neil and the lads is just lovely, absolutely seals the whole thing beautifully!
I’m a fellow AE86 owner and also nerd of all things JDM for the last 20 something years. I’ve been following since the start of the channel and honestly think there’s nothing else quite like you guys on TH-cam currently. This is what internet car culture (and arguably internet content in general) needs more of, genuine human experiences and connection. Not doing it for the likes or doing it for the clout - just doing for the love of it. Great work!
Same I got a rusty tofu box I visited mondello park for event last year from Hawai’i changed my life with the amount of love for drifting the Irish bring to the table
Videos like this make ye proud to be apart of the drift scene. Outstanding. Also Neil, Team Ice-Cream surely has to be the official Juicebox crew team name? Window banners, stickers and all 🤣
This is why the channel is the best on yt, the coming together, the culture, the emotions, the cars and the people. The world needs more of this. I once again commend you Neil and lads, and all who watch. Team Ice cream!!! I would buy that shirt!
"I told you you were famous in Ireland"....Un believable man, and absolutely insane props to you and all the lads who made this happen. Historical moment in Japanese car culture was made on this day. All thanks to you Neil.
I love this, i remember watching Yuasa san on old VHS d1 tapes and thinking he was mad for going SR in his 86. He exudes that you cant be old if youre young at heart
Unreal work!. I met you at the airport just as you dropped him off and said hello. That note was the icing on top from a legend. Can’t wait to see what’s next
Thats so cool on so many fronts!! Non car people wont understand, but fans know the Classic JDM goodness is equally from the heart as much as the cars!
I havent cried in a long while. today that changed. Thank you for the respect you gave this man. Those 3 Videos really gaslighted me into loving cars and the People around it even more. Thank you!
I almost teared up when you read out the message he gave you. Amazing thing you guys have done. Every 90s/00's drift nerd wishes they could give back to that generation like this. Glad you all could accomplish a dream many of us have and gave Yuasa an experience he'll never forget.
I love all the 3 parts, but this one takes the crown. I got so many goosebumbs and especially when he did the donuts and the crowd goes wild. He could finally be the star that he wanted to be. Thanks fo the experience and you guys made my day :)
I keep saying it, but if you see Japan and Ireland on TH-cam, it feels like a more genuine authentic sense of connection. I hope this is the start of more of this kind of thing. Big up Andrew too.
I can't say more than what's already in the comments here. Such a great ending of this mini-series. You and all the Juicebox crew made a real difference to the world through our love of these bits of metal.
This was incredible. I don't think I ever cried while watching a TH-cam video, but seeing Yuasa driving his old car and get such an awesome reaction from the crowd was truly special. Thank you Neil and everyone at juicebox for making this happen and sharing it with us.
Man, what a mini-series of emotional videos! It's so great that you managed to pull off this trip for Yuasa-san and I hope you all got as much enjoyment as he did. I am sure he will treasure the memories you all helped him to create until his last breath is expelled, as you all will, no doubt. Neil, your videos are going from strength to strength. I can't wait to see what you have in store next. Thankyou for continuing to make some of the best car related, non-bullshitty content on the yootoobz. Long may the nonsense and distractions continue!!
Neil, there are people who made videos for themselves, to have content and so on. You doing videos for the others and genuinelly care about their feelings and dreams. This is why you are so different from everything I ever saw on youtube. Capturing emotions is tough, you doing it with so much ease and it is all for real... thank you for being who you are and doing what you are doing. martin♥
cars can be transportation, a project, a community builder, a life’s passion, a nostalgia trip, and a universal common language of friendship. Yes I love my Hondas and Honda culture but nothing beats the friendships and relationships built because of the passion for them. Neil I really appreciate the videos and I’m glad to be able to assist with financing the trip with some shirts. Cheers from the lone star state!
Wow man, proper teared up lol. These have been an amazing story , u can see the emotions from all involved and it comes though the screen, was smiling the entire time. Thank you boys 👊👊👊
Such a humble and heart warming film. I've photographed this car throughout its prodrift years, upto its recent re-attendance at rosegreen. But yeah, I never would have thought that the original d1gp driver would actually come to Ireland and drive that car at mondello as I was photographing it competing in 2007. So good to watch.
I think you just got me back into cars , I fell out of love with them for so long, what your doing with these videos is second to none. Emotional and raw. Fair fucks lads
all this started pulling that spider infested piece of metal and journey come to this I am glad I watched since day one always fun seeing this kind of videos.
Just wow. So emotional, so much joy, so much passion. Thank you so much Neil for the content you are making, you somehow manage to capture what all these hunks of old metal and the people who drove them really mean to car people in the most genuine way, something I find Juicebox does the best out of all the automotive channels out there. You show it’s not just about money, big$ parts, quick builds with 1000+hp, major progress every episode, you remind us it’s also the people, the places and the friends we make along the way who get to enjoy it with us.
Just speechless. What a grand idea and journey that you brought us all on. You just know that there are dusty, parked 86’s all over the world that are going to be pulled out again and at least given a wash or a tune or a full restoration after putting something like this together. Congratulations. We look forward to your next adventure.
Hands down the coolest thing you've ever done. The number of people you've made happy with this is huge - not just those who were there with Yuasa-san at 86 Fest, but everyone who's been along for this whole ride through your videos, too. This is a testament to the power cars have to bring people together through language barriers, and serves as a love letter to the earliest days of D1. The fact this was done of pure passion and not for views or sponsor money is rare these days, and much appreciated. An unforgettable experience for you, I'm sure.
As a long time fan of Ryota and 86s myself, this is literally one of the best things anyone on YT car culture has done Neil. This is gold man! you made an amazing thing here. Thank you for this
Congratulations Neil and all the people involved. In a very Irish way, every one of you put a piece of his soul and his heart for that to become this big success. This f*ckin' video almost make me cry when i didn't expected, but in the nicest posible way. Great work... the best work actually. Thanks!
Such a cool video brings a lot of people back to the golden era and how we saw the car scene when we were younger threw the magazines or DVDs love it nice work guys
The in-depth story has been so captivating and an enormous pleasure to get to see because of your videos....take a step back and realise how awesome you are! Fucking fair play!
