i was going to get a 100v but ended up with an XPro 3. I decided on the XPro as I felt the 23mm(35mmFF) was far to restricting on my style. None the less, the 100v is a great little camera and if I could get one , I probably would as a second camera.

I love the X100V, but due to the pancake lens, I did feel frustrated when using the aperture ring or manual focus ring. I ended up mapping the aperture to one of the dials (as well as SS) and always use AF, but that negates the analogue feel of the camera.

I’ve owned the X100V since it launched, right before the pandemic started.
I fell in love with it instantly as the design was just beautiful especially in the silver and black finish but, I went with the all black for street photography.
I sold my old X-T1 and lenses to get it so it was a bit of a change moving from working with a 50mm to the 35mm, but it just worked.
I have to say, out of the four cameras I have (Sony @7 3, GRIIIX, iPhone 13 Pro and the X100V, the X100V takes the best images even better than the Sony full framed camera… seriously!
I almost sold it to buy the model above my Sony but couldn’t do it so I bought the one I now own, I just love to use it that much but: it might get sold along with all my other camera gear to buy the Leica Q3 but it is something I will think hard and long about before deciding, it’s that good a camera.

    • @fohrm
      @fohrm  ปีที่แล้ว

Yeah I think from what I've seen, the Leica Q2/Q3 would be the only reason I would consider selling the x100v. But the Q series has such a massive lens that the portability factor would be a tough sell for me. Because that's been so nice to just have that little fixed pancake lens on the x100v that delivers such incredible photos!

Wait for the x100-6, id expect a sensor upgrade, ibis and refined autofocus capabilities with the newer processor. No point spending 2000eur on a camera that is outdated already. The latest fuji soft update has just shown that all cameras based on 4th gen processor are done with significant updates. And the x100v could use an update on the accuracy and speed of focusing.
No hate, love fuji, just my 5cents after going so deep into the rabbit hole and coming out from the other side. Either wait for the next iteration or get the xt5. Cheers

    • @fohrm

At over 2000 bucks it surely isn't the best

Yeah the prices right now are out of control. I was lucky to get mine at retail!

It is not a perfect camera because it does not fill me with dread when I use it. That's the Yashica-C.

Perfect? Yeah, so perfect I sold mine off a couple of months after i bought it new since it 1) overheated and 2) with no stabilization, the video was absolutely USELESS. Gonna get me the Q3 instead.

Not gonna lie, you're right that the video is the absolute worst I've ever seen or experience. Might as well not be a feature at all.

Great! So here is an overhyped camera that is impossible to get, and here we have another photographer further hyping it up making it even more impossible to get. In case anyone is interested the Fujifilm X-S10 takes exactly the same photos and the X-T5 takes even better one.

A lot of people would agree with you, honestly. For me, I wanted something without an interchangeable lens and and something with a smaller form factor, so the x100v worked better. But each have their own strengths!

Not really it might be a great camera but it's not great for bird Photography nor is it great for sports photography it's a great street camera and maybe portraits in certain situations but it's not the best camera ever or perfect camera because there are so many things that can't actually do very well soAnd I'm a Fujifilm fan. Don't get me wrong in fact, I own a Fujifilm, but it's by far away not the best Fujifilm camera, mate it's popular because a few social media influences made it popular and yes it does. Take pretty cool photos but it is not the perfect camera...noooooo
