The 1947 mostly the same car as a 1941 with only a few small improvements. After the war ended in '45 Fords and all other cars were still their old models with cosmetic changes. The '49 was the first model year with postwar engineering and design. So it's kind of like you're comparing cars that are 8 years apart.
