The first vehicle I drove was my grandfather's 1936 chevy pickup. It was a 3 on the floor with a 4 cylinder I drove it to help him get his tractor unstuck. I was only 10 years old and it was a very memorable experience I will always cherish. Not because it was a chevy, but because it was his and he trusted em enough to drive it alone from the field all the way to the barn, maybe a 1/4 mile. At 10 years old that was a big deal. My grandfather was a WW1 veteran too.
Your grandpa sounds like a cool guy. Mine was deployed to nam and desert storm/shield. he's giving me his 05 Mustang GT, but i'm 16 without a license yet, despite my best efforts, but it'll be mine one day.

Every time I see a truck doing truck stuff these days like hauling stuff or pulling stuff. It’s always an old beat up Chevy, S-10 or Ford ranger from the 1980s or 1990s I never see new full size trucks being anything more than glamor queens. American needs to bring back the mini truck. All we have to choose from right now is the Maverick.

I pull a trailer, haul stuff, and even take road trips in it. WAY cheaper to make it new again than buying a new truck! Plus it's cooler and more fun to drive

In some respects modern quadcab trucks are more affordable now at being roughly 2-3 years wages for the poorest compared to when they were first made in the Great Depression when they were roughly 8 years wages for the poorest. There’s a reason only the government bought them back then for the forestry service.

When I was about eight or nine, we went to look at a 1929 Model A like he had as a teenager. He wanted something fun to drive to park beside the Cord, he passed on it but the ride and day was huge fun.

But I'd still love to have one for novelty and prestige Also, I've seen a Ford AA diesel with 400k miles on it original drivetrain. Well built.
My 85-year-old neighbor had a model A just like this that he put the Mitchell overdrive in. He let me drive it to high school almost every day. Now this was in the 90’s so no one else definitely drove something like this to school.
On the US inflation calculator 450 dollars in 1931 is $9,050.06 today so it is less than the 30K a F150 costs today with the extra 20k you could buy electric seats a back up camera and lane assist to bring it up to a new pick up
You should see the old fashioned cars from the year 1926, those days. The 1930s, the way men wore suits and how women dressed, so fabulous. To buy a 1930s car today...save up, it's just not easy. I love how vehicles are made around the 1960s, the times where our parents were very young. I live like it's 1967
As cool as the round-backed coupes were, the Model A truck was by far the best-looking. (and most utilitarian) Rumble seats were a gimmick in this era, but it was still a time of innovation before standardization. These were the first real 'trucks'. (besides Model T's)

The drivetrain is unstressed so these will run just about forever and it's built to be repaired in a barn. Even though this is a truck, you can still see the care in the styling of the gauge cluster. My dad works with a guy who has a couple of Model As, though I don't think any are pickups. I've been able to sit in a coupe he pulled out of a barn but I haven't yet been able to drive one.
Great truck. Tudor sedans are the roomiest in front, especially if you move the seats back an inch or so. Roadsters and coupes are actually pretty tight.
Fun fact, at 7:15 you're talking about the Ford Model A is sometimes mistake with the Model T because of the Henry Ford speech «Any customer can have a car painted any color that he wants so long as it is black.» ... While you're walking around the car, the camera in the point against the light change exposition and the car seems to be black 😂😂

Ford sold entire production lines for both model A and AA to Soviet union. They were even more spartan than this and a lot of metal cab parts were made of wood. Both models were made into armored cars too.

My '74 Chevy pickup also had wooden flooring in the bed, and the tailgate opened and closed with chains. Three-in-the-tree shifter, tired old straight 6, lots of rust. Still kinda miss it.
lol. Think I'll take a pass on the asbestos candy....but I would take a barrel of the old Coca Cola when it still had that...magical ingredient. (I think that was even before this Model A, but still)

They're actually pretty quiet stock, but you could add some Dynamat if you wanted. Almost no engine or exhaust noise, little tire or wind noise because they don't go very fast. They weren't designed to pull a 10k lbs trailer at 80 mph.
Zack my buddy wouldn't it be nice if you started featuring model T Fords on the channel, Like if you started with a simple Doctors Coupe or a two seater open top one Or just any body style you can find, It would just be fantastic, So what you say?
The hand throttle can be used to set a fixed rpm as in warming up the engine without a foot on the throttle , the foot throttle operates as a standard gas peddle .
They're really not designed for people over 5-10. You can raise the seat a little so your legs aren't cramped, but then you have the roof and steering wheel to contend with.
Where did you get your information? Horsepower rating....40hp from factory rating. Braking.... evidently your truck hasn't had a correct brake system restoration.
The brakes probably just need adjustment. Throwing all new parts on without knowing how to properly set them is the cause of most mechanical brake "problems"
