As I watch in 720p or 1080p, it seemed a bit mildly grainy and the background lighting seemed a bit more blown out than normal. But this just proves that it's more about the skill of the videographer and editor rather than the equipment. Kudos to you and your team, great work
Or you could buy :- Used sony a6300 with kit and prime lens:650$ Rode videomic go :60$ Tripod:30-50$ 4 softbox light:-150$ Gorrilapod:60$ Total :910$ Still you are going to be left with 100$. With this set up you can shoot awesome 4K with 60fps and 1080 FHD at 60/120fps. You can vlog with it, make sit down videos, you can shoot b-roll, Click amazing product photos, Sony A6300 is weather sealed so you can throw it in your backpack and take it anywhere. Pump up your Instagram game, you get that super fast focus on Sony, do much more . This is my best video/audio set-up. For creators .
I was literally going to comment this lol they could have bought that and a extra lens or 2 n decent lights for a 1000 but the test came out more then decent cause I saw the video they shot
The FF aesthetic with shallow DOF, plus the thick colours and dynamic range you get in 14bit RAW, are way more valuable than 4K to me personally. Watch the Asus 200$ laptop video, it looks so cinematic and is very crisp too!
The 5D Mark II is the camera that originally took TH-cam videos from amateur footage shot on phones and camcorders to production quality back in 2008-2010. Before it there was a huge gap between consumer video cameras and professional level Canon and Sony video gear. It wasn't even meant to be a video camera primarily. It was just the first mainstream full-frame DSLR that happened to shoot 1080p video. Plus of course the firmware could be hacked to make it a specialised video machine.
Great video idea Austin and team. I have always wondered about using higher end cameras vs. run of the mill cameras. I am excited to see the video made with that Canon 5D Mark ii. (:
The old Pentax lenses had a a significant, but not much, amount of color fringing and it's really not that bad. I just noticed it because of that green line streak from the top right corner of the window sill on 6:12. By the way, great video!
the sharpness wasn't there but I wasn't trying to pixel peep, 90% of the video is content, good audio, and smart camera control and placement. resolution is just a really nice bonus.
I came here after the laptop video, I knew something was up just from the noise in some shots...but otherwise it was beautiful! You guys are super talented!
I noticed with yesterdays video that some shots had alot of extra noise (in the video, not audio) now I know why. Great job up-scaling from 720p, that is quite impressive.
I couldn't tell when I first saw. Of course now that the cat's out of the bag I can tell. People often forget just how important editing can be great job guys
great video! didnt even suspect any difference when i was watching the 200 laptop challenge apart from the backdrop! now i can see the lights reflected tho. haha
I always say it’s not the tools you have, but the skill. And it shows, I would have never said that the ASUS video was shot on something different. I mean seeing it normally not looking for anything odd.
Sony a mount. You can get an a77 or a65 for well under 4-500 bucks, Minolta lenses are brilliant and it shoots native 1080p so you are getting auto focus, high grade glass, and higher quality.
Ok i actually didn't realize that the 200$ laptop video was shot with a different camera. I realized that the Audio was different and thought you had some problems with it or that you couldn't use your usual microphone for whatever reason but i didn't think it was all shot on another setup. That's actually really impressive.
Other than the occasional soft focus and some noise when filming the laptop screen, it actually looks really good. I sense a collaboration with Indy Mogul in the future...lol
Still a really great video! If you put enough thought behind a video these days you can make something great. You have good people. Only thing that looked off to me was the first out of focus walk in shot but I suck at manual focus now too because I got that crispy Sony AF now. Haha. Never going back to manual unless I can afford someone else to pull focus for me. Lol.
Just got an ad where it was Austin reviewing on the HP Spectre Folio, thought it was the actual video for some reason until I saw the Skip Ad button and the actual video played lol
My mom can make a $1000 camera look like a $25 one
That's a talent, moms are amazing.

Whoah... The 200$ Asus laptop video really didn't look much different than your normal videos.👏👏
It looked fine, but when I first watched it, I noticed something was a bit off with the audio. Now I know what it was.
highlight was blown and there are lots of dithering artifacts. But overall, the sharpness isn't that bad(watched on my phone).
Not sure if that’s a compliment 🤔
@@DamienK28 I got a 55inch 4K TV and I noticed it big time. BUT It still looked great. I used to shoot student films with a 5D Mark 2.
I knew something was way weird. I thought that Austin's studio got shut down and he was forced to downgrade.

Can’t stand it how everyone jumps on canon like it’s the only camera in the world. I have a g85 and it’s so good
or they can go with gh3 or g6 and buy a better tripod. That fluid head looks kinda jittery
@@EbrahimSaadawii They cropped that FF sensor by recording in raw
1000 dollar budget. I could only buy half a Galaxy fold. Now it just looks like a Galaxy S10
Wonder who's behind the camera shooting this behind the scene stuff ...
Itssssssssss.... KEN
Why not Lumix G7 used under $400 You can shot 4k 30fps. Good budget 4k camera.
Why not get Canon M50 with kit lens + manual focus for 4K???
One of the better videos(concepts) I've seen this year.. brilliant!
This is one of my favorite videos of yours. I like that you show the behind the scenes kinda.

Ah yes, I love watching an Austin Evan's ad on an Austin Evan's video, truly next level

Relating to this one so heavily.

Make this a series
I just realized that I saw the video already and I didn't notice any difference 😂 But now I do

I'd pay to get a 10 hour long video just listening to Ken talk
That video had some look exactly like manual lens videos of mine. I could tell something was different but not point out. Now it makes perfect sense
To be honest u R the best youtuber for tech...

I just got Austin's own ad on his own video. Sick.
Congratulations on your marriage 🎉 🎊🎊🎉
gotta ask whats with the ducktape on the camera screen?
I wish Austin could be a little more like he is in these candid videos. In his normal vids its like he is on rails.

Good video, Austin. Next time make a video where you see when you buy the stuff that you use in the video.
I want to get a 6d Mark 2 only for photography but any other recommendations for plane photography
Why the tape on the camera lcd? Magic Lantern has the ability to overlay different aspect ratios.
