@Kepano 808HI Yeah, but the bedroom or the bathroom should never be tolerated. Per (near-universal) laws regarding rentals or even AirBnB spaces, recording a tenant without consent--for whom the property essentially belongs to them for the agreed duration of the rental--is illegal. If someone trashed your AirBnB home, it should be good enough proof that you make a thorough investigation and document the damages as soon as the tenant leaves.
A lot of cameras use infrared lights, to spot them turn off the lights in the room and then open the camera app on your phone and move it around you should see like purple or white light coming from the hidden cameras. Another way of hiding cameras is placing it behind a one-way mirror that is reflective on one side and transparent at the other, put your finger on the mirror and look at it from an angle if you see a gap between your finger and its reflection it would be probably a one-way mirror with a camera behind it.
@@jannisdavidzwahlen in your standard airbnb, they'd give you the WiFi user name and password which you can easily log into the router with and look at the WiFi client's list. I'd highly doubt they'd run two seperate routers with two seperate internet connections for your average airbnb.

@@psp4gamer depends on the manufacturer, sometimes tgey don't use a IR filter so it shows it. In theory all cameras are sensitive to it, just most block it.
I can name some LEGIT reasons why a camera is located in the room of an airbnb - a friend of mine down in Texas just had their airbnb wrecked by a renter, and so far haven't been able to contact them for damages. That means lost profits due to the time and cash spent just repairing the place for the NEXT customer. She decided to install a security cam that goes off at certain intervals for "before and after" shots for her peace of mind. It really just depends on how you REALLY use them; and are open to your customer about it as some WILL let it slide as long as they know it's for ACTUAL security, and not for some nefarious purposes. At "some" hotels/motels, you can easily call them as creepy porn cams - that's usually where you really need to watch out for 90% of the time, though now that airbnbs are a thing, then maybe get yourself some gadgets to spot them ASAP if the host hasn't said anything.
this is why I prefer super cheap hotel rooms that are basically empty, apart from a clock there is no way you could hide the other stuff in there. In a fully furnished Air BnB its a lot trickier though
You can actually find out most of these cams by turning off your room lights and opening up the camera viewfinder on your phone. Your phone's camera can spot an IR light of any cam and it would appear brightly on your viewfinder. Similar to when you point your phone to a remote and it shows a light that can't be viewed by the human eye. Thumbs so everyone can see it 👍🏽

For the cameras that are streaming over WiFi, just connect to the router and look for additional WiFi clients that are connected, such as a camera.
