Cool facts, YUJU wrote and co-compose all the songs of that album, if i remember well she participated in the production too, so we have the full package, Yuju the soloist, main vocalist, main dancer, songwriter-composer and of a queen with the visual and beauty of a goddess. Oh and the whole album is just perfect too and a must have for every Buddy (everybody pun intended) .
I'll add too that she mentioned in Showterview how some of the songs were written 3 years ago

This debut just knocks it out of the park. Just wow, wow, wow.
I'll be honest girl groups solos are a bit of a hit or miss for me - I know Yuju is a great vocalist + dancer (obvi with Godfriend's synchronization), but it's still different with 6 people on stage vs one. I think she killed this comeback and even though the group is not together anymore, glad this gave her a chance to show case her style! Hoping she has a long successful solo career :)
I mean, the members wanting to branch out to individual activities is speculated to be one of the reasons they were dropped from the company cuz hybe is allergic to solo activities
@@crudojoshuaricofort8795 Solo activities are pretty common in the industry but hybe does seem to have an aversion to it. Unfortunate because I think the group would have stuck together if they were allowed to do solo activities

Always love your reaction and very happy to see you get to Yuju's debut "Play" here. Yes, Yuju has always have the penchant for artistic expression. While it's not prominent as a member in Gfriend, we knew Yuju idolizes Yuna Kim, the Korean figure skater. If you saw Yuju's participation in rhythmic gymnastics, her approach here wouldn't come as big as a surprise. Yuju said that she tried to be as honest with the songs in this album as possible. We know the expressions here are part of Yuju's personal experience. We are finally hearing the scorn in her since last year. Love Yuju's debuta and enjoy your reaction as usual.
I think the song is about her old record label how they put their trust, dreams, and gave everything to them all these years and they just abandoned them without notice. They played a character all those years and weren't able to be themselves. I think this song is a response to the end of gfriend and how she had to pick up the pieces and move on.

Can’t wait for the dance practice so you can see all of the choreo! I’ve loved Yuju since 2016 now and being a Buddy has been a blessing over the years. Her debut is so beautiful and I’m really proud of her for putting so much work into the mini! As others have said, she did write the lyrics for each song on it (some with others’ help!) A lot of the concepts were Yuju’s idea as well!
You should review the performance video in which she's wearing the blue modernized traditional clothing. There's much more to the dance than is shown in the music video.

And about the red and blue themes, it also extend to the albums, which I thought was creative! Ver.1 is red / Ver.2 is blue, the intro is called "Bad Blood" (funny how you were mentioning bleeding out haha), and the closer is "Blue Nostalgia"

Her whole album is soooo beautiful! I've fallen in love the moment I heard everything. The fact that she co-wrote 5/5 and co-composed 4/5 of the songs makes this debut more meaningful. This debut album is Yuju telling her honest feelings and she delivered it well! I am so proud of her! I hope you could check out the rest of her songs in your spare time. I really love all the songs and I know you would also feel the same when you hear it

Yuju explained that the red in the video was connected to the name of the album, REC. when we start filming the camera has red light or dot, so every time there is a camera she's a doll, she is controlled. I am not sure what blue is tho, but I think it's her real self and feelings.

Its my first time checking your vids and wow, your reaction was my fav. You managed to extract alot by watching one time and thats amazing. Im happy Yuju's message got delivered well. Like you said, this is a very personal album and title track by Yuju, so you saying it has personal feels to it is so true. She also, like u said, intentionally sang with a deeper tone/register to match the song's vibes and feelings. Everything about this song and MV is so artistic and meaningful, its so "Yuju", thank you for your beautiful reaction. I hope you could check her album out as well, its beautiful. Yuju did not choose a catchy/upbeat/trendy song for her debut, so not many people are gonna know about this, but im very proud of her for having the courage to just pour her soul out and be herself.
