I've listened to everything The Necks have produced, and this is hands down their best work and pure masterpiece and EPIC!...i've had this track on repeat for literally 2 weeks straight while at work.
First Australian band I heard when I moved there. A friend gave me a tape of Sex in 1989/90 . It was totally different to anything I had heard (14yo metalhead)... at the time. It stayed with me as the most Aussie thing (whatever that means) I heard. A few years later I came across the Dirty Three, whom I really dug. People were all praising their originality, but they weren't the first instrumental trio in Aust., not really for me. In a way, I kind relate a Sydney vibe to The Necks, and Melbourne to TD3... The Necks live show is really something, one hour songs go by , and you're spewing when it all ends. I also have seen Tony Buck do his thing, which is one of the most interesting musical events I have ever seen...
@@michaeltoole8010 try Thursday Afternoon, it's a very long bummer! Also Neroli depresses me for some reason. Still there's plenty to be thankful to the mighty Eno for! I especially love his two albums with Cluster and all his work with Bowie!
Recommended to me after listening to The Ghost Trade by Camberwell Now. I suppose the album covers are kind of similar, and they are also a three piece band. Really good albums ..
This band does neither Art for the sake of art, nor of Art against art but for Art which has nothing to do with art, because the Art has everything to do with existence🕊
Art, is a term which requires a prerequisite. This moment now, is not dependent on any other. As such, being in the moment does not have the quality of prolonging or perpetuating. Qualitative ideas, limit the true experience of now.

Just stumbled on this. Wasn't sure at first. read the comments and decided I should wait a minute. glad I did.
Their ability to stay so locked into a groove for so long is incredibly admirable.
Go see them and have your mind severely blown, I promise
Apt, and beautifully put, this has the paradoxical quality of stoner focus. Sublime.

This Sounds Like the Main Menu music of some Epic racing Game you heard endless hours and IT gets better the more you heard IT.
That was the best damn mushroom music I’ve heard in years!!.. although wasn’t quite sure about the dinosaurs

I am only now discovering this artist and this song for the first and wow, just astounding.
Same here.
coolest trio on this planet
What a wonderful find! I wanted something ambient but jazzier and less pessimistic than Eno. This hits the spot!
What do you find pessimistic about Eno?

Can you slightly deconstruct your premise?
As a Art History teacher, I'm confused on your ask.
Michael Gira of SWANS brought me here.
I'm intrigued, do tell more 🤔
