Wow I wasn’t expecting that Alex, an ultra luxury cruise line and a specialty restaurant to boot that doesn’t deliver on its prime ingredient. Well done for not pulling any punches! 👍🙏🇳🇿
Thanks NZ Buddy, I am bluntly honest, and do hope that the line fixes this. I hope it was just me being unlucky. I'll check again in my next cruise on Explora in August. I'll give feedback then. This is why it took me longer to make this video, I was not sure on how to deliver this message, my brain has been struggling on this feedback.
@ I laughed when you ordered the Pork in a Steak Restaurant, I thought oh there is something wrong here? No excuse for serving poor quality meat in specialty Steak Restaurant imo. 👍🙏🇳🇿
I don’t sail till February, but have read/watched A LOT of content regarding Explora 😁. There have been so many reviews (from beginning till now) that confirm yours regarding the steaks. Explora SEEMS to be listening and adjusting to other concerns in regards to adding shade by the pool areas, making pizzas more customizable, changing out the size of the large couches in the elevator lobbies, etc…You would think that making the steaks the star of the show at the steak restaurant is a no brainer? I wonder where the disconnect is?
Exactly, I believe that launching the first two ships, and then having a two year gap to the next allows to fix some "hardware" issues. The steaks in a steakhouse should be a no brainer. This steakhouse however is complementary, on other ships tends to be speciality dinning, maybe that has something to do with it. But even so difficult to understand since they have grilled lobster at the buffet every day. But yes, I believe they are listening and will do something to fix it. Looking forward for my next sailing with Explora.
@@Alexafter50 I wonder what the Terre et Mer is like? Did you find the lobster on the boat cooked properly or were they rubber-like? Planning to go on #2 in early February and have my reservation already made for night 3.
@stevewarrick4402 The Surf and Turf is so so, the steaks suffers from the same problem with the cuts of meat. Which is strange, at the Fil Rouge the steak was awesome. The lobsters are good , not rubbery at all, but if you are in it for the lobsters, I strongly recommend that you go to the Buffet "Marketplace" where you can find lobsters every day grilled and served with the sauce you want, and since they are small you can order two or three anyway. You can find a video on the buffet in the vlog.
Thanks again for another helpful review. I'd imagine they work hard to make things as perfect as possible and your comments are duly noted. Although I can hardly wait to gain first hand experience, I wonder if the meat's cold storage challenges may have something to do with the outcome. I was also only able to make pre-boarding dinner reservations for a portion of my entire journey, if it even matters. Cheers!
Awesome, and thanks. When I got access to the restaurant reservations, it was possible for just 1 evening for each restaurant at the 6/7 weeks before embarkation. Then, If I remember correctly, could so the reservation for the remainder of the trip about 4 weeks before boarding.
We are not great steak lovers but we went three times on our recent cruise. My husband said that the iberico pork was delicious. I had halibut on the bone served at the table and the tuna, both were outstanding. The filet mignon and my husband’s surf and turf were average. So Alex I totally agree with your comments.
Thank you for confirming. Hope Explora does something about it, it is the predominant opinion, I believe it wasn't just me being unlucky. And it is strange, I loved the steak at the Fil Rouge, the French restaurant, so I know they can do better. I will check again in August. Thanks and happy cruising.
Going on Explora 1 in 3 weeks. Your videos have been great help. I will definitely be having the pork and the steak!
🤣🤣🤣 Another option could be to pass by the buffet afterwards 😉 Thank you so much for the feedback 🙏

@smiffyLevel6 you spotted it quite early 😉👍😎 nice!
This is what I call Tough Love, thank you for the honest comment.
Always! Thank you for your feedback 🙏

Just returned from Explora 1. Everyone we spoke to said exactly the same about the steak.
Thanks for confirming this. My experience was on Explora II, so must be a supplier selection issue.
