    Seems like I had an issue with the FX chrono app misreporting the ft.lb figures for the 10.35grain pellets. I now realise that they're quite hot so I'll be turning the reg down a few bars to compensate. Thanks for all the heads-up! I also noticed during editing that the cocking lever bolt had worked itself loose and that's now been tightened down. Many thanks to all the eagle-eyed viewers for your feedback. 😀👍

    Interesting video to watch and set of results to look at. The reg pressure, hammer weight, travel and spring pressure are all interlinked to give the speed to the pellet. For sub 12 ft-lb, if you up the reg pressure you will have to compensate by reducing the hammer travel or spring pressure etc. It tends to be a long process of multiple adjustments. Sub12 airgun channel is fantastic, but you don't get to see the amount of testing they must do to get their results. Thanks for the video.

      Thanks for sharing. You're right, which is why I followed up by checking the power wheel which is I believe a hammer spring adjuster! 🙂👍

    The screw at the centre of the regulator is for the regulator adjuster knob that can be purchased from Bagnall & Kirkwood. This threaded centre is integral to the regulator so please don't anyone damage this! The regulator knob and screw are parts 148 & 112 (Regulator adjuster knob and screw)

    • @hftshooter
      @hftshooter  หลายเดือนก่อน

      Fitting the regulator knob seems a bit of overkill for the sub12 rifle as it's not something that you're going to regularly change. As far as I'm aware adjusting the centre screw does exactly the same thing and it's already there. I'm just following guidance from other channels like sub12airgunners who show this and know far more than me.

    • @pellet_on_pellet
      @pellet_on_pellet หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      You must not fit the adjuster knob to a sub12 ghost as that will then make it an illigal firearm if you do not have a valid FAC. The law states that sub12 air rifle must only be adjustable with a tool to increase and decrease the power. Fitting the adjuster know then makes the adjustment a tool less task and therefore makes the sub12 rifle then able to be easily over sub12 without the need for a tool and therefor if you are caught with it you will be nicked. This is the reason the reg is set and the knob is not included in the sub12 version from factory.

    Good test and set up. Have you tried the barracuda 8 they are so good. I noticed in your test your cocking pivot Allen bolt has come undone this happed to me as well hope you don't lose it.

    • @hftshooter
      @hftshooter  หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yes, I tried the 8s but the AA fields were better. I actually noticed that bolt when I was editing the video, so all secure now thanks. 😀👍

  • @jamescarter1088
    @jamescarter1088 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    So at face value, you have increased the reg pressure by 5bar, but it seems that it was probably better before you touched it. Perhaps your efforts may have been better spent polishing the imperfections from the rifling in the barrel, which would by itself tightened up the groupings and increased fps by itself. From what I have read, this is the result. Thanks for the video👍🏻

    • @hftshooter
      @hftshooter  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Yes, I'm on a journey of discovery. What I didn't know before I now have a better understanding of. Learning all the time. I'm not aware of any indications that the barrel needs polishing. I'm sure I've already pushed some pellets down it to check, but I'll give it another go when I get the chance. Thanks for watching. 🙂

    You may want to recheck the energy calculations for the JSB heavy’s you’re VERY close to legal limit. 707 fpe is not 9.3 ft/lbs with 10.34 gr.

    • @hftshooter
      @hftshooter  หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thanks for the heads-up. I just blindly took the data from the FX app linked to the chrono. It's clearly not calculating correctly. 👍

      @@reaney41 Thanks. I had a closer look at the user manual and it recommends having a separate rifle profile for each type of pellet used. guess I should have read it more carefully!

      😮723 FPS with JSB Heavy pellets is 12 FPE. The Huma reg setting was 110 bar from the factory for a reason. I would suggest leaving it at 110 bar if I was you. Thanks for taking the time to put out this content though 👍

  • @fxpeter22
    @fxpeter22 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    Hi Jeff, great content again. Did you alter the pellet weight on the chrony for the last test? 723@10.34 is right on the 12ft-lbs mark 🙂

    • @hftshooter
      @hftshooter  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Thanks Peter, I've had a few comments about that. I just read off the chrono figures and didn't check. I did adjust the pellet weight for the string but it appears that the app prefers a separate rifle profile for each different pellet. Learning all the time! 😀👍
