You're not wrong about the coats, don't worry. Just wear layers under them to feel as warm or cool as you need 👍In winter, you will notice many people wear very thin but warm down jackets with warm sweaters and underwear (heat tech). The reason the lady packed your pads in a brown bag is women in Japan are embarrassed to be seen buying/ carrying them in a transparent plastic bag (lol). Hiding them in a paper bag is considered good customer service 🤣The stores where I live don't do this anymore but I always refused to take the paper bag. You're right about the lack of education regarding sex and reproductive health. Most learn the basics from textbooks in one or two classes and that's it! There is period poverty in Japan and there are also several NPOs trying to address the issue, but no government initiatives as far as I know. Health insurance covers everything you mentioned but the shame it too much, so people avoid hospitals 😷 It's great that you have found something you are passionate about!! You can definitely try to make small attitude changes around you.🍀
