Good sized knife with a pretty wicked looking blade! Very good action on it as well! I do like the added cutout on the lock actuator! Thanks for sharing!!
Great video! I laugh at all the commenters complaining about the size of the Endura but that is because most days a carry the 12 inch Bear And Son stag Bowie 🤣
I can't believe it closes that way, awesome. I know it's not a true forward choil, but it seems like you can choke up more than the standard version. I plan to buy one, but I agree, the price is kinda pushing it. Thanks for the video.
It is a pretty cool thing with the action. I like the knife, but sort of wish they would make something in between the sizes of the Delica and Endura. That would be perfect for a wharny. The Deldura. Or the Endelica.
Late to the game on this one. I have the Wharncliffe Delica, but saw this Endura in a local brick and mortar store, so I had to have one. I like bigger knives.
Looks like a great knife but probably a little bigger than I would like to carry as an EDC. I agree about VG-10, I really enjoy the steel but I think it is a little pricey on some models as compared to other steels out there.
Blade shape is definitely interesting and does make it look bigger than it is when compared to knives like the bareknuckle but it's definitely a chunker I just can't agree with the pricing though. Same price nets you a Cold Steel Code 4 in S35. Maybe the sprint runs would be more worth it from a value perspective but as is 80 bucks is a lot for a FRN and VG10 knife at least imo.
And, depending how you felt about it, I'd be VERY OPEN to a possible trade- beautiful knife, not my style, though. I paid $740. You're the only guy I like. You're COOL AS SHIT - DOWN TO EARTH ! I can be reached at my email, if you'd rather " talk ", there. Let me know, I'll disclose it. Thanks, JT ! P.S. I'm flexible, so far as a knife would not have to have a commensurate price ( it could be lower ) for me to consider trading.
I have this knife but find it hard to flick open. Do you have any suggestions to make it easier to flick open? I tried WD40 but it doesn't seem to work that well.
Disassemble it, and file/grind down the lock spring. Taking 10% to 20% of the thickness off of the spring will dramatically lighten the lockbar tension. Instant flickable Endura.
That tallness closed though... it's like NONE of the blade goes into the handle. I love wharnies, but I just don't like the compromise Spyderco made in order to avoid designing a different handle. The regular Endura's closed profile is excellent. This is a big flat pancake in your pocket. Mmmm... pancakes...
Ha, ha, free dropping lock-backs are rare, and the one's with strong detents can bite you. My Gerber "39" has cut me more than any other knife in my collection.
"Fidget factor" I couldn't see fidgeting with a knife tbh. Kinda asking to get cut eventually if you're mindlessly opening and closing a blade. Get a bolt action pen I say. That'll take care of the need to fidget with something.
Fidel Cashflow:- I agree, fidget factor, spydie flicks, super steels, and custom add-ons (eg. Clips, anodizing) are in the purview of knife reviewers, and usually not a factor in the average Joe & EDC.
Well, it depends on what you look for. I absent mindedly play with a knife, a lot of times while in working or watching TV or reading. Knives that are fun to fidget with end up in my pocket more. And this happened before I reviewed anything.
The Endura is not a particularly attractive knife to start with, but that wharnie shape is just plain ugly. May be a good cutter, but damn. The VG10 doesn't bother me. You would be surprised how much of a difference it makes if at the end of the day, you strop it. Maybe 5-10 passes on each side. It takes less than a minute to do, and it greatly extends the life of your edge. If you use your knife all day long at work, then yeah..go for a better steel. The Wyvern's frn is very good, and it definitely has that fidget factor. I love mine.

Thanks for watching man. Saw you posted about the Phoenix, I'll have to check that out!
Suddenly my Delica warncliffe is looking lonely and in need of a friend...
It's big brother is right here. 👍

Really amazing spyderco new knife reviews!!! ^^
Yes, thanks!
@@JTsKnifeLife you're welcome ^^
It reminds me of a little kids knife on the great knives out there today!!!!!!!

After I saw you one hand close it I tried it with my AD10, it worked, nice, thanks.
Nice! Good to know!

You're right, it does look like a toucan! I kind of like the wharncliff blade. very useful shape. Good review.
Thanks Bruce, I appreciate it!
I agree with you, it's a little bigger than I need for most tasks. Curious to see the Para 3 lightweight with BD1N.
Randy F. Lol your never gonna see it gonna take years to come out smock 2.0
@@bp-hx9ts 😆
Hopefully they got their shit together. They definitely heard about the Smock.
They announced it for this first part of the year, so it should be in the next month.

Absolutely, yes sir!

I can see what you mean, especially since a lot of the sprints with steel upgrades aren't all that much pricier.
Very interesting. This is always a preferable blade shape for me but the size is not something I’ll carry. Laws and just comfort
Comfort for me too. No need for it
That's a big long knife! Wonder how it pairs of to the griptillian? I saw the seismic comparison! Almost at 5K!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I think a bit long looking compared to the Grip too. The proportions are just different. And yeah, getting there!
Now that I'm getting more into larger knives, this one tempts me a lot. Despite the Spyderco VG-10. No likey.
For a larger knife I'd probably not want VG10, and yeah, the sprints have better steel for bot much more money sometimes, so it'll be worth the wait.
Vg10 will do just fine, don't tell me your going to be cutting metal and bricks all day 🙄
I think I’ll wait on this one, then regret that I waited, see that they ran out of stock, and eventually buy one if I find it on sale.
Hahaha that's exactly how it'll happen I bet. 👍
Great knife, JT !!!
Do you do Custom reviews of viewers knives ?
Thanks man, and what do you mean? Like one of your knives?

But a sharp, steel pancake? Not so yum.
Too big for me as well. I love the blade shape but way too chunky when folded. Not pocket friendly enough for my taste. Thanks for the video.
Scott Bond same here haha
I hear that, thank you!
Maybe it’s me but the blade shape reminds me of the side view of a bear claw.
Like the Endura, handle could be just a touch smaller....
Damen0530 just a little bit I wonder if people are doing mods to it ?
Carlos EDC never seen one, but I'm sure someone would do it for the right amount of $
@@Damen0530 yeah but than it takes away from the appeal haha

I've been cut by a Gerber too. It happens.
Too much arch in the overall design IMO. Bulbess profile. Not my thing. Good job JT-----

I can't get over the plastic scales........ I don't even mess with spyderco's anymore.........
Pg R plastic is fine seriously name 1 real downside
bp69 no I guess there really isn't........ It just makes the knife look cheap I'll come around!!!!!!

Sounds good, thanks for the info on the Wyvern. Also, I think these wharny models might be the rare Spydercos that look better serrated.
