Yes it was just a test of the suit basically and less eventful that I imagined. But Jareds next trip will be the Hubble repair mission, and there they will have to do some moving around.
As soon as Dragon's hatch opened up to space, that already translated to being immersed in "space". Whether the experience was free-floating (devoid of stairs foothold) or "standing" firm on the steps of the stairs of the opened hatch, the tethered condition of EV1 and EV2 were commonalities to both types of spacewalk. No terminology correction is necessary due to the same tethered condition in either spacewalk experience.
@@cd5964 SpaceX do not want to blow their crewed safety records anyway. It is very important for them, because it could ground the vehicle. With Starship they can take many chances since it is uncrewed and in the rapid develoment phase. Once they reach a mature stage they will definitely change philosophy there too.
If I understand correctly, they only need to pressurize the EVA suit to one atmosphere, so it wouldn't be like the increasing pressures of scuba diving.
More like sitting in the doorway looking out, not really a spacewalk! To me a spacewalk would be an astronaut 100% outside the ship, attached by a umbilical cord (cable) of some kind so not to float away.

The difficulty of wrist roll looked annoying. I think all 4 'space walked', topologically, as soon as the hatch was opened. I don't know what people are expecting, like Michael Jackson Moonwalking, or doing The Running Man like in the Utah Saints video?
Never in the history of space travel have they ever shown the astronot in the air lock then the hatch open and then the astronot go outside one single time
Fake as hell, the moment they cut the feed when he is struggling to open the hatch and after a few minutes they put back the feed and it's open already. that's the moment I know it's fake. They switch to studio actors after that cut. I will only believe if they will show the uncut version of the whole mission without cuts.

I don't know, the only tether is that tube which seems to be the air supply as well. And they don't have that jetpack kind of thrusters attachment the older suit astronauts wore.

What you see in reality is light interacting with matter(objects and gas molecules). If you switch on a flashlight in space, you'll never tell it's ON nor you can see any light coming out of it until you point it right at your face or put an object in front of it. Here on Earth, you can tell light beams and rays from the lamps and flashlights because light interacts with air molecules, vapor, and dust in the atmosphere...🙂

It's pressurised nearly one atmosphere of pressure compared with the vacuum of space, plus multiple layers of protection against tears and heat control.... it's going to be pretty stiff to bend joints. (around 3/4 atmosphere I think)

Therefore, no midnight lamps can be visible below, and stars are being outshone by the photography lamps behind her/him. If you saw the broadcast until the end of the mission, you could clearly see the cameras mounted on the hatch cover while it was closing.
