    Cathy, I lace everything because it's so easy to adjust the stitched piece. I start with the loop method and if I need to add another thread. I double knot the ends together... Nice tutorial!

    Everyone in my family makes their living painting on canvas. When a canvas gets a little stretched out or pushed in, rub an ice cube on the backside of the area, let it get just a teensy bit damp, and as it dries the canvas will tighten up.

    My first time watching a laced project and I learned so much today😀. Your students and you did a very nice video so we could see everything clearly. Thank you so much for explaining your process and materials needed to make these stand up pieces of stitchery! I’m excited to try lacing and rickrack edging on my months designs from your patterns. 👏👏👏

    Maybe lightly mark the back of fabric to cut with scissors for something to follow, a guide, as I can never cut straight. Lacing is not fun for Me, so I put in 4 sequin pins in the side middle to keep me on target. Nice Tutorial, that was Fun. I think my next Lacing will be Nicer with doing those tacking stitches, and cutting to 4 pieces of trim rick rack. I've used a double sided tape by 3M, Scotch (I think) that comes right off with the gadget it is on in 1 motion, not a typical dispenser, I found it near scrapbooking supplies at Michael's. Thanks again, I learned a lot. Good Job Ladies! Nice Sampler.

      You can follow a thread as well if you’re not comfortable with a ruler and rotary cutter. ❤️

      @@HandsOnDesign I love my rotary cutters, but for those using scissors trying to get fabric cut to a 1" allowance ... :) I enjoyed the classroom fun you all displayed.

    Cathy can u actually lace Aida? I have never done that before and lots of people use glue but I really don’t want to do that?? Thank you for this tutorial I struggle with ric rac! I use a straight pin and pierce the adhesive on the tape to get that paper stuff off, I can never peel the backs off that or stitchy board with my nails without ruining the corners! Aughhhh

    • @HandsOnDesign
      @HandsOnDesign  2 ปีที่แล้ว
