- Join us for the last operational day of the Grand prix at Blackpool pleasure beach,
after 64 years the grand prix has had its day opening in 1960 and created by Arrow developments/dynamics this ride was originally petrol and change too electric in 2002!
a great little event but we still don't know the big question! what is replacing it!

A funny fact - According to BPPB Resorts’ own criteria; Hyperia is 281ft, putting the tallest rollercoaster in the United Kingdom as, The Runaway Mine Train at a staggering 665ft 😂👍🏼

I remember going on Grand Prix in the 80s when they were petrol powered. Have not been back since. Sad to see it go but happy I got chance to ride it when I did, I think Blackpool was better than then.

There was a genuine magical feel about the pleasure beach back in the early 80s. I feel so so sorry for folk who never got the opportunity to experience what I would consider the whole of Blackpool, at its best, the 80s and early 90s
