When Seras killed Zoren Blitz in Hellsing Ultimate is probably one of the MOST satisfying scenes in anime for me
To this day, this scene is what still gets me hyped.

Not quite. Integra wasn't keeping Seras alive with her blood, she was tempting her to embrace her true nature. Seras didn't need Integra's blood to keep going, Alucard confirmed that she could survive without drinking practically indefinitely, but her abstinence kept her pathetically weak. To the point she never fully turned and had to sleep in a coffin filled with the soil of her homeland. Something that Alucard and other full vampires don't need to do unless greatly injured or traveling over water. Integra's virgin blood does have extra pep in it so her feeding a few drops of it to Seras while Seras was trying to live off nothing but soup was live someone brining in a full five course meal and setting it up in front of someone on a hunger strike. This point actually becomes more poignant when you realize that Integra made this move right after all the shit started to get real with Millennium and you SEE just how much stronger Seras gets after a SINGLE feeding. One which, canonically is the only full feeding she ever has. It makes you realize just how calculating Integra can be and that if Seras had feed earlier in the series she would have saved a LOT of lives.
I think I remember in the original that part of the reason she got exponentially more powerful was because Pip gave his blood willingly. Something about blood freely given being more powerful and significant than blood forcibly taken. I could be wrong it was a long time ago that I watched it and the translations were not great.
@@Alistair5861 Not really. What that did was give her a familiar. Alucard get just as much power from a single feeding, if not more, but where all the souls he feeds on are reduce to mindless thralls little different from ghouls Pip's willing sacrifice gave Seras a full fledge partner that retains all he had in life. In short, it didn't make SERAS any stronger just like having a brother that always tags along with you doesn't make YOU any stronger but it DID make PIP have a much better time of it. It also created a trade off. Seras could just feed on Pip the once and keep that one willing soul who would forever fight by her side and be enhanced by her own powers or she could create an army like Alucard. If Seras tries to absorb any more souls it will be Pip who will be eventually drowned out and overcome. In the end you can really make an argument either way for which is stronger. Seras will never have the army or extra lives her master did, or the sheer variety and magnitude of power, but she also will never have to fight or live alone.

Seras is actually a lot more of the main character than Alucard in Hellsing. It’s her embracing of who and what she is and has become that is much more spotlighted than Alucard. A lot more in the original show less Ultimate. So I’m not surprised she’s your favorite. This episode is awesome.

And yeah they ACTUALLY showed the corpse getting knocked up in the original Ultimate. What TFS showed was MUCH lighter. Be happy you got spared that imagery.

To be fair the whole Hellsing series is kinda Seras' character arc. Alucard's like a protagonist after the end of their series, more than a little OP for the new riffraf.

@@MarkoDash very true. A lot of people used to talk about "how can there be any tension, when we all know the Mc is invincible. But while he is invincible, those around him are not" so we knew damn well Alucard would always win, but with him out of the picture, and it being the penultimate episode, it wouldn't of been odd to see Integra, Seras, Anderson, Walter, the entire population of Britain get killed, and have the final episode just be him all alone against the villains, to really lampshade the loneliness of immortality.
Instead we got everyone stepping up without him there, and managing to survive without the tiniest shred of plot armour.
One thing I like about TFS was how they did the whole "Canadian Subtitles" thing. Though personally I wish I could've suggested one before TH-cam messed with it.
In episode 8 with the "blood sugar daddy" line, I wish that once you hear the music for Alucard coming back that the canada subtitles added "Who wants blood pops?"

I love that Kirby gets just as hype during these cerys scenes as I did because of Rob Zombie the song selections in this series is just top tier.
Then end of this episode is so good. Seras earning her name is an all time moment on anime.
The real explanation that duck struggled with was seras didn’t turn because she wanted to but because she was afraid of death. She was clinging to her last bits of humanity. She needed blood but if a virgin has their blood drank by a vampire they become a vampire. Hence seras became a vampire. She couldn’t feed on anyone or she would turn them to a ghoul or a vampire herself. Integra offered her blood to feed her so she could live.
In this episode when she decided to by her own volition to feed she finally embraced becoming a true vampire. In the coming episodes you will see that from here on she has earned her name seras Victoria. One of the best female characters in all anime

its implied that the reason Pip's blood gave Seras so much power is a combination of aspects within Seras
most important of which being that all blood Seras ever drank was freely given both by Integra and Pip, so while Integras blood (being virgin and all) kept her going pretty well, it wasn't going to give her a power up, but Pip gave himself, body and soul, to Seras at the end there, making his blood extremely powerful in comparison to any blood taken by force or just drops from other people

Seras really pulled her weight in this episode. Zorin stood no chance at the end.
What also made Seras go full vampire was the fact that for the first time she went for blood willingly. Before it was only out of absolute necessity, and with the mental blockage of not wanting to do it. As Alucard said: 'You are so much stronger than you let yourself be'

Seems like it's harder to read a manga after already watching the anime version unless the two versions are extremely different from each other like Rosario Vampire.

Three tiers of blood consumption, in ascending order
Non-lethal bleeding (transfusion blood and Integra feeding her) maintain strength to some degree, but kind like living on Tofu, you'll live, but not thrive
Lethal bleeding (vampire inflicted wounds or just dying and getting fed on) increases the strength of the vampire and amplifies their powers
Willing offering of life blood (Pip's final wish is for Seras to drink his blood) MASSIVE power boost, and merge a portion of their mind/soul with the vampire's own. Extremely rare and powerful.
Most Vampire battles can be predicted based on how much of which category they feed on. Seras was riding the newborn power of her own blood still fueling her and the inherited power from Alucard with bare minimum maintainence from Integra. Zorin was feasting on unwilling humans. Zorin handily defeats Seras. 1 willing donor puts Seras head and shoulders above Zorin.

This episode is _brutal,_ and it never gets easier to watch the dark stuff. But that ending....worth it every time!
I wish these reaction eps came out more than once a week. It was great seeing you reacting to this, but Kirby just has some great reactions to some of the "spicier" content and jokes in these eps.

Some context about the "world's first British Dairy Queen" comment from Alucard. Back in Episode 2 of Hellsing Ultimate Abridged, Integra mentioned that her father's car was covered in goat blood and rammed into a Dairy Queen. LittleKuriboh actually commented on the fact that there are no Dairy Queens located where Hellsing is at, and joked about how Alucard had imported Integra's car all the way to America, covered it in goat blood, and then rammed it into a Dairy Queen there.
So this comment by Alucard is to basically address that comment LittleKuriboh made.
Kirby is a massive Rob Zombie fan, has great taste in music and it shows throughout this reaction series haha.

In the OVA Pip offers Seras his blood that's another reason she's so powerful.
quick fact: in the original dub for this episode, before dying, Pip tells Seras to drink his blood. He willing let her drink his blood, therefore becoming a true vampire in her own powerful, beautiful right, no matter what anyone else says about Seras drinking blood in this episode.
This is also shown in a later episode of Abridged, where Pip explains to Seras why she can hear his voice in her mind.

Living Dead Girl and Dragula were the main two that brought me to Rob Zombie almost 20 years ago.
on a side note, Seras Victoria ends up Stronger than other Vampire peers because the consent Pip gave to Seras to drink his blood. In that consent, immense power magnification can be found, though only those who dabble in the occult would know that
Episode 8 is the best, hands down. It has the best intro scene in the entire series
I always react weirdly when people mention the house during Seras' scene painting the wall with Zorin. I mean it's not like we don't know it's a big fackin house. Hell it's been referred to as an entire compound on more than one occasion
so the hall ways in a mansion like the hellsing headquarters? fairly long. But you need to take into account the speed and strength Seras can put behind what she did, at a sufficient strength and starting velocity, you could grind someones head down like that in about 60 to 120 feet which is easily the length of a super mansions hallway.
17:40. You stated pretty much everything regarding Seres’ transformation. I forget if it was mentioned already, but Seres is the only vampire sired but Alucard himself. Every other vampire antagonist that we’ve seen is a synthetic one, which is to say now that Seres’s transformation has finished she’s innately stronger than any vampire that could now come their way. Damn, I absolutely love that look of her blood arm. It’s so cool to see the animation of how fluid it looks, it’s almost like she’s dancing!

She only became as strong as she did because Pip gave his bloody willingly. In fact, encouraged her to take his blood to kill the "Nazi bitch". The Major even says so himself. She was already strong, as we were able to see during her "Blood Rages", able to tear apart the ghouls without any trouble. I would say more, but I'd rather not in case Kirby does read the comments.
Love the reaction to Rob Zombie -Living Dead Girl. Amazing that is still popular with anyone, the song is probably just as old as her.

Hey Kirby, a friend of mine had to deal with the same troublesome stuff you've got on your cheeks.
He strangely used large cotton clumps, soaked with lavender ethanol on his cheeks for 15-20 min per session, periodically for a month or so and by the end of the summer they were mostly gone. Apparently the ethanol burned/dried out the accumulation of... whatever it is under the skin that causes them. Using this method will dry out the skin though, so heads up if you want to try it too.
He had smeared all kinds of different stuff on his face from the pharmacy but nothing worked like this. Maybe it'll work for you too. 🤞
Technically, Seras never drank human blood from the vein, only from blood bags(she couldnt bring herself to feed from humans)and it was becoming a problem(she was growing weaker and weaker) so Integra gave her some of her virgin blood to help keep her strength.
Also, virgins can only become vampires in this universe and everyone else becomes ghouls.
Hellsing(manga, the first anime and Ultimate ) is a fangtastic series for gory vampire shit.

For a vampire blood is the currency of the soul in the Hellsing franchise. A real vampire literally drains A life from their victim and that person is with them until the vampire gets killed.

Since Seras never drank a life before this moment she never was a real vampire to Alucard until then. This is why her power-level skyrockets. It will also explain something "weird" with Seras later.
Oh and it explains why Alucard from this moment on actually uses her fucking NAME.

Just to add to the conversation, unfortunately TFS didn't add something that I think would have really elevated this. In the anime(or possibly even the Manga, it's been years since I've seen the unabridged stuffs) Pip actually offers to let her feed on him so she can complete the change, and I think it really adds to the scene. Pip loved her and was willing to give up his afterlife to spend it with her.
Kirby just keeps getting more and more awesome, as for Kyle, I'm disappointed you didn't know Rob Zombies Living Dead Girl. Work on it lol

You know, you said it was a better love story than twilight humorously. But honestly, it truly is an actual better love story than twilight in both the Abridged and the original. Which I don’t know if I should be saying that’s a low the bar is in twilight, or a showing of how good this is.
