@@PlanFree I got mine a few years ago. As you said, it was required for me to get one when I bought a lot. There is also something called "Constancia de Situacion Fiscal" which is like an updated proof of registration, or a good standing certificate,, which I needed when we applied for some permits, specifically to buy a performance bond. It comes from SAT, which everyone refers to as the Hacienda. Has a QR code on it. Took about 20 minutes, no appointment necessary, we just stood in line.
@teclote glad to hear all your experiences were smooth with SAT too, what a blessing. Thank you also for sharing all that here for others. Hopefully someone gets help or encouragement from it all, that's the goal!
Great advice and guidance .. I was able to secure my RFC on my own with ease. I’m a temporary resident with a CURP and went online to make an appointment. One suggestion when you’re making your appointment online, check your Junk/Spam folder for the email of confirmation. This is where my confirmation email ended up. I arrived with copies of all required documents and a USB (which wasn’t required because I’m retired and not working here). If you live in Nayarit, you must select Jalisco as there is no office in Nayarit and you must go to PVR. The SAT office has employees that will guide you moving forward . Easy 😊
Yes! Good for you, both for doing it yourself as well as catching the email in your junk folder @msbellyb! You gave a couple of extra good pointers here for people also so we thank you very much for adding your comment. Thank you also for watching! Is Puerto Vallarta your favorite area in Mexico?
You have to double check at the office you will be using but when I did the process using the office at Guadalajara I was able to choose the day and time of my preference for my appointment. After my appointment was set I showed up early on the day and time of my appointment. It would be best to get the original mailed copy from the utility company of your bill because we do not know if you're particular sat office will accept a printed copy or not. We were told we would require the original one that the company mails to you/your landlord. Hope that helps! Keep us posted on how it works for you! Ayr & Lpri
You mentioned needing a original physical copy of a utility bill, i rent and the owner says he does everything online and never gets a physical bill. any ideas of how to work around this?
Great question. Yes many people do all their payments online now. If we were in your shoes we would ask our landlord to call the utility company and ask them to mail one just one time. See if that works? What state are you in?
Nice job, thank you.
Thank you so much @teclote!
Are you planning to go through this process for yourself sometime soon?
