Hi Marek, found you by accident when I was looking at Watership Down. Extra bonus to find you live near where my soul will return to one day. Thanks for cheering me up on a miserable day in these miserable times. 🤩
Hello Cool Dude. I am so glads you enjoyed the videos. I have just found the soundtrack to the Watership Down film by Angela Morley. I am listening to it constantly.
For someone born on the Island but now living in a ****hole city, these videos are an awesome escape and reminder of how privileged I am to have grown up in such a beautiful place! Hard to beat rural South Wight in good weather and with no one around!
Great new emoji. I wondered how it would work and I'm not disappointed. Chocky really scared me as a kid. When I watched it as an adult I could still understand why it freaked me out but I was mostly surprised by how much Birmingham was in it. 😂Stay cool.
This is my favorite part of the Isle of wight . Love the Pepperpot and views and walking near St Catherine's lighthouse. Made me laugh, medieval community service lol. I remember different scary characters growing up , I liked Worzel gummidge but had some scary characters and the Joker from Batman. I'm sure there's lots more. Some of my favorite places in the world are Kluane national park in the Yukon, Canada, The blue ridge mountains of Virginia, the North York moors coast and of course the Isle of Wight :) love your watercolour of the Pepperpot. I must learn to paint one day.
I was scared of fireworks and fire alarms as a child. However, I think this is eminently sensible as children should be wary of loud noises and explosions. Thank you for the video, Marek. Stay cool.
Another fab Isle walk ! The Isle certainly has spectacular views for miles around. These are a few of my favourite hiking & walking places that I visited in France about 25 years ago & well worth a visit. 1.Le Puy-en-velay. 2.Carnac Stones. 3.Chateauxs of the Loire Valley. I chose Bob Nutz, I'm out....never mind! Looking forward to Part 6 & seeing your other ventures.
Hi Marek! my favourite place in the world is Eilean Shona off the west coast of Scotland. It is peaceful and wild and I love it. As a child I got so scared of an episode of Scooby Doo that I refused to go upstairs by myself for about six months. Great video as always!
Hi Marek, our childhoods were remarkably similar! Until I was about 9 years old, I was most frightened by the blanket chest in my parents bedroom as I was convinced Dracula lived in it. With the only loo being upstairs, it meant I learned to get all the way downstairs unbelievably quickly in only 3 steps. Great painting btw...
This sounds a bit like the time I dreamt there was a murderer in the bathroom, and spent about an hour wide awake trying to pluck up enough courage to go to the toilet (and also not wet myself).
Danger Mouse bouncing his car on the edge of the universe scared me deeply. I really wasn't ready to consider a finite universe at that time. Smallcombe Vale is my favourite spot. It's a little valley tucked behind Bath. I looked down from above at a kestrel hovering and the grass shimmering and was gobsmacked by the beauty of the world.
Really enjoyed this video. Great seeing some familiar places I have walked with my family over the years. Beautiful scenery! I use to be terrified of The Count on Sesame Street as a preschooler! Never did like Maths as a kid..
One! Ha ha ha ha ha. That is my written impression of the Count. I always disliked Big Bird he was a bit too whiney. I think I preferred the Muppets to Sesame Street.
The Singing Ringing Tree was so scary that my brain has gone into denial and I can’t remember why. My favourite place was sitting outside a little cafe under a bridge over the Bhospurus in Istanbul, with a beer and a plate of friedmussels in breadcrumbs watching the world go by. I don’t remember why for that one either.
Great walk. Best of the Vectis so far. Love all these random buildings stuck in the middle of fields. Westward Ho was one of my favourite places. Good views of Lundy island. I was terrified by quarter mass when I was a child. It scared the life out of me. Shall put a bid in on the water colour.
Postbox wearing a woolly pumpkin-covered hat is definitely a new one for the spotters handbook! 😯📮👒 I remember those “read it yourself” ladybirds books!! Haven’t seen them for yeeeaaarrrs, and funnily enough those two were my favs. Always used to ask my mum to read em to me at bedtime, and she’d rush thru em in hopes of getting me to go to sleep sooner, while I’d remind her of every bit she skipped as I knew every word of the Billy Goats Gruff by heart. 🐐👹 Beautiful places to visit- would definitely recommend the Lake District. Am a big fan of lake Windermere/bowness. ⛵️🏞🌤
I have mostly cycled rather than walked it, but the southern part near the River Ribble is certainly worth taking at a slower pace with a break at Brockholes!
One of my favorite places in the world is also a lighthouse! Point Cabrillo in Mendocino, California; it has a unique coastal village, lots of trails & seals & sea lions & whales if you go in the spring. While there, you can take Orr Springs Road from Ukiah and stop for a soak in the natural hot springs, then see the world's tallest trees in Montgomery Woods State Nature Reserve....
My favourite hike ever is to the Upper Dewey Lakes, in Skagway, Alaska. Only a 6 miler but incredible scenery round every turn. Scariest thing from my childhood was a book called 'Orrible Murders, that for some bizarre reason was in our bookcase at home. I remember the cover was yellow, and had a woman with a sword being shoved through her head. Proper grizzly.
Splendid walk again, Marek. In terms of scary 80s TV, I remember being terrified of The Boy from Space, which may be a little before your time. Also there was a series called Maelstrom that wasn't for kids, but somehow I managed to watch it and that was bloody scary. Although having watched some clips of it now it looks a bit naff, but the theme song still sends shivers down the spine..
You are right about The Boy from Space. th-cam.com/video/5zIbEoGRt-Q/w-d-xo.html I remember it and Dark Towers. Derek Griffiths doing some excellent singing.
The scariest movie from when I was a kid was Salem's Lot, I couldn't make it through that in one sitting. As for the best place I've visited, it'd have to be the Grand Canyon. It is awe inspiring and no photo or video will ever do it justice. The hikes in and around the canyon are amazing.
The Weirdstone of Brisingamen, I remember being told/read this story in junior school, It has stuck with me all this time, but I remember so little about it.
Here is something really odd cool dude. I googled Alan Garner this morning when you mentioned this book, it was the first I had heard of him. Then I was just looking through the Booker Prize nominees and he has been nominated aged 88 for a book called Treacle Walkers. Very strange that he should come up twice in one day.
Favourite places in the world: - Godshill IoW - childhood memories - Sennen Cove in Cornwall - absolutely gorgeous spot, but go out of summer season. - Minack Theatre in Cornwall on a stormy day, stunning - Santorini
Scariest thing I remember T.V. wise, when younger, was Zammo and his heroin addiction. Also Dungeons and Dragons with *spoiler alert* the children never actually getting home (I think). I'll watch Dramarama a bit later, feel I've been a bit happy this weekend. Thanks for the upload.
When I lived in California, I enjoyed wandering King's Canyon and Sequoia NP. In the UK, St Kilda, Scotland is one of my preferred haunts. As a boy, I was unnerved by banshees... ghosts as well, but the idea of hearing a banshee was at the top of my scary list. 👻
I expect Scotland is absolutely packed with banshees. Maybe one day I will have a banshee emoji. In the meantime I will just use this underused sheep one.
Another fine walk. My favourite place is St Ives, many a childhood holiday there with my family and Aunt, Uncle and cousins. Great memories. As a young child I was scared by a Jack in the box which made the most awful noise, pushing it down made it scream that used to terrify me.
Mayo, ketchup and mustard! I bet your baps were moist. I have a few current favourite places and they are all along the Greensand Way: Knole Park, One Tree Hill, Mereworth Woods and the church near Roydon Hall. The Magic Porridge Pot was a great Ladybird book that I read umpteen times. Codename Icarus was a kids series that put the wind up me. Stay cool dude
I looked at doing a bit of the Greensand Way at the start of the year, but I was a bit underwhelmed after the Augustine Camino. It is good to hear there are nice bits. I might check them out.
@@cdwc I would recommend the section from Westerham through to Pluckley for some good scenery, views and countryside. Plenty of nice villages and pubs along the route
I watched a Greek mythology thing on tv when I was young, and Medusa scared the sh1t outta me. Convinced that she was under my bed and her snakes were gonna burst thru the mattress or grab my ankles. Also saw a kate bush music video with a ghosty monster type deal in it, who then moved in alongside Medusa under my bed and terrified the life outta me. Freddie Kruger (who’s pic I saw in the tv times!) was under there for a bit as well. Under my bed was THE monster hang-out back in the early nineties. Good times. 😬
I've just just got back from a holiday to Northumberland with cool dude #732 and there are some fantastic walks. We also live on the edge of the peak district and both are great for walks with the spotters handbook
Hey Marek, another great walk. Really enjoyed watching that one. 😃👍 Some lovely scenery on that walk. My favourite place is 'The Isle of Wight' hence me watching your channel. Other places are Snowdonia in Wales which is breathtakingly beautiful. We stay near there, specifically a tourist destination called Barmouth. Anglesey is very beautiful. We also love Loch Lomond in Scotland. Also Looe in Cornwall is a favourite. When I was a kid, I had an irrational fear of those creeping garden weeds that wrap around lamp posts etc. Always thought they would wrap around my legs when I was asleep at night. Even though my bedroom wasn't anywhere near our garden ! Strange ! 🥴🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣👍 Stay cool fella ! 😃👍
Did you watch the Day of the Triffids? Maybe that is where the fear came from. I wasn't allowed to watch it, so I felt left out when everyone talked about it at cubs.
Thank you - One of your best walks and I loved the rocket shaped lighthouse. Too many walks to choose but West Bassett Stamps Redruth, industrial beauty and ghosts of working men & women. + Cinque Terre Italy. I was scared of a ceiling rose in my bedroom that looked exactly like a man’s face with a beard.
The kids show Chocky must have the most terrifying opening theme ever. I revisited an episode on here not long ago, and there was a scene where the kid gets abducted and when the police were telling the family he'd been found they casually mention it looks like he's been given some injections but he's alright. The way they just brush over this mortifying piece of info like it's nothing... your child has been abducted and injected with some stuff but apart from that nothing to worry about.
Another excellent traipse through the countryside. Marek, what will you do when you've run out of IOW walks? Do the walks again - but at night??? 🦉🌛 Ah, the 70s - public information films always scared the hell of me. I once worked with a guy who made PIFs in earlier life - to talk to him, he seemed so rounded and pleasant 😄
My favourite place is ‘Sad Hill Cemetery’ in northern Spain, the location of the final scene in ‘The Good, the Bad and the Ugly’ set in a beautiful landscape that has barely changed in the past 50 years.
One of my favourite places is St Catherine’s Hill in Winchester. I always feel like I’m going to die by the time I get to the top but it’s peaceful up there with great views I remember watching Ghostwatch as a kid in the early 90’s. That scared the crap out of me.
I was too young for Ghostwatch but bought the DVD when I was about 20 and couldn’t believe it was actually presented live on the beeb as something “real” - fantastically spooky. I was also freaked out by Blair Witch, although by the time I watched it I knew it was fake
When I lived in Ryde, down the road by the park.. was a track that ran by the railway line, apparently the 'Mars Bar' man hid in the bushes trying to lure in kids.. pretty scared of him growing up lol, he probably wasn't even real 🤔 I swear I saw the boogie man hiding in the linen closet too. Loved reading those books too. Honestly love watching your videos, you bring up so many memories of childhood + I get to see the I.O.W Moved to Wales when I was 14.. 41 now 😅 ..but you give me the chance to experience the I.O.W again, think a trip back is long overdue. Still, Wales is extremely beautiful too, just alot more hilly 🤣 I live in the black mountain range, stunning views if you have the energy to climb one 😀
When I did a walk in Ryde for this channel there was a man in the bushes!!!! He was wearing strange clothes. I think I drew a picture of him in the video. Maybe it was the Mars Bar Man!?!
An excellent question. I think Tesco's, Sainsburys and Morrisons seem to have the same manufacturer. A cool dude sent me some Chewits ones, which are almost like cables.
Lovely use of Peer Gynt at the beginning of this brilliant video. That composition always reminds me of Ren & Stimpy. And it always a pleasure to see a bit of “Yarnbombing” on street furniture too. My fave local walk is the Itchen Way, best bit is Winchester to Bishopstoke (stopping at Steam Town Brewery for a beer and a burger) and my dream walk would be along the Cinque Terre coastal route in Italy PS when I was little I was scared of UFOs as I used to watch to many reruns of 50s and 60s sci-fi b-movies on BBC2
A couple of my favourite places are the view across Morecambe Bay from Humphrey Head near Allithwaite in Cumbria, and Curbar Edge in the Hope Valley in Derbyshire
Medieval pilgrimage you say?? Hmm, most interesting. Anyway, the scariest books we had in the states as a kid was a series called "Scary Stories To Tell In The Dark" The stories themselves weren't that scary but the black and white illustrations in the books were horrifying. They adapted it into a feature film a few years ago that Guillermo Del Toro produced. Also, we had a TV show called "Are you Afraid of The Dark?" which was actually made in Canada but played on Nickelodeon and it had some very freaky, memorable eps. Not sure if any of that stuff made it across the Atlantic.
St. Helens Walk in Tasmania; Thousand steps in the Dandenongs, Victoria, Australia; Florence Italy especially the walk up the hill to the giant David and beyond to the gardens of the church on that hill; Kings Park Western Australia (especially at night) and Rottnest Island.
My favourite places were mostly in your list 😟 of yours on the Island, however there are many fine views in the county where I live, Derbyshire and I like a lot of Exmoor too and Snowdonia and Yorkshire and Norfolk (I guess I'm easily pleased)
Silverdale is one of my favourite places given its proximity to my parents' place in Preston so was perfect for day trips on the train. I live in Edinburgh now, which is another of my favourite places. The new emoji scares me
Dark Towers. The Boy from Space. Both frightened the 6/7/8 year old me absolutely stupid. Mental teachers at primary schools in early 80's to think these were OK.........!
Oh yeah, strawberry laces emoji Favourite places are: Ventnor Downs, Newtown and Headon Warren (IoW) Lulworth Cove, Boscastle, St Ives, Cliffs of Dover, Cotswolds (Mainland UK) Opoutere, Keri Keri, Dunedin (NZ) Canmore, Jasper, Grand Beach, Kaslo, Castlegar (Canada) Adding another emoji (or two) for the sake of it
The ‘boggart’ terrified me…….people we would meet up with every year on holiday at Adgestone told me about it after I had heard snuffling round the tent one night they told me it was a boggart, a vicious half badger half hedgehog creature only found on the island. I believed it for years 😂
'Usborne Guide to the Supernatural World' was a huge hit among us Finnish school kids who were born in the beginning of the 80's. The stories were fascinating and frightening as such, but the detailed illustrations made them ten times more horrifying. For years, I absolutely refused to use those clattering, old-fashioned cage style lifts, and they still make me feel uncomfortable. That is because in that book there was a story about a man who saw a ghost carrying a coffin. Years later he saw that same man in blood and flesh, working as a lift operator, and refused to step inside. You probably can guess what happened next... 👻
I am scared just reading about the story. Usborne also published 'The Know How Book of Detection', my brother had it and I was jealous as it was my favourite book ever. I recently picked up a copy on eBay and I still love it.
The Hill o Many Stanes in Caithness. It's a hillside that's covered with little standing stones arranged in a sort of radial pattern of rows. Anywhere with standing stones always calms me down. Similar if you're up there is The Ring o Brodgar on Orkney; it's absolutely huge.
When I was in early primary school in the mid 1980's the tv was wheeled in for us to watch a horrific children's program, all I can remember was a little girl approaching a hut on a beach which had a witch in it and either the girl and/or the witch got trapped inside and (maybe set on fire?) whoever it was was so terrified to get out of the hut that their fingers were bleeding from desperately scratching at the door. The atmosphere of the whole program was horrible and frightening in that 1980s no filter, low production filming style which made it feel very real. Ive never understood what it was or seen it again. Definitely scarred for life!
Alas my favorite place in the world that I've been to is called the Trent Canal in Ontario, Canada but that is because of all the good memories I made there growing up with people who are no longer with us. Maybe one day I will be able to add so and see for myself if the Red Sand Shores of Prince Edward Island, Canada will make the list.
Mysteriously my comments have disappeared overnight! Now that IS scary and a bit odd 👀 Can't remember what I said, but it was along the lines of TIntagel Castle being one of my fave places especially on a stormy day ⚡ up high on the cliffs with no one else around. But of course the IOW is my go to place & strangely my favourite spot is a lonely little bench 🪑in the corner of Rhylstone Gardens overlooking Luccombe Chine with an Elvis tribute plaque nearby. Random. You can contemplate and chill. Check it out!! Huffed and puffed my way up to Pepper Pot once from Blackgang Chine. Amazing views. Oh, yeah the other thing I mentioned was that it was good to see you again in ''Am I being Unreasonable'' on TV at the mo! And thank you for the Strawberry Laces and of course the sausages Hope this msg doesn't evaporate into thin air! 🌪x J x
One of my fears is talking about my fears. Talking about them means they gain power and become real. It’s like pointing out you have a gross zit. Then everyone has to looked at the said zit and say “it’s not that bad”. If you say nothing we can all live in blissful ignorance and not look at the zit. So many places I love that you should visit but it would involve you leaving the Isle of White. Do you do that? These days I’m happy about sitting on a quiet bench looking at something pretty. You are welcome to come join me one day as long as you bring strawberry laces and a bushranger story.
My best friend lives in New Zealand. I will visit him one day and leave some strawberry laces outside the toilets at the airport for you. Also it is Isle of Wight. WIGHT!
Hi Marek. Do you remember The Boy From Space? It was on a program called Words and Pictures which we watched at school on the wheeled in T.V. It was terrifying!
I think I can remember Mrs. Creighton putting it on at Bembridge Primary. It is still terrifying today. Check out this clip. th-cam.com/video/5zIbEoGRt-Q/w-d-xo.html
My favourite place is Highcliffe Castle, Dorset. I’m most afraid of flying although I will do short flight with calming medication. I would love to go to America but worry I’ll get the overwhelming urge to try and open the aircraft door which is apparently very common in those with a fear of flying. 😮😮😮
@@cdwc Myself the wife and the old Westie have walked all these routes. The Westie is long gone as are both our knees, so now I watch are vids and they bring back happy memories. Cheers.
The scariest thing about that video was the fact I didn't know Shorwell was pronounced Shorrell. No strawberry laces for me. Like the lighthouse guy, I have sought to atone for my sins. In my case I bought a membership to your excellent channel. (Member #367 in old money). Once of my favourite places is Eastnor Castle in Herefordshire. Older viewers may recognise it as the villain's lair in the excellent 1984 BBC adaptation of The Box of Delights. It also doubled as the home of Sir John Gielgud's Canterville Ghost (1986).
Top 5 favourite places (IoW) Orchard Cove Fort Victoria The Duver, St Helens Appuldurcombe House Carisbrooke Castle Top 5 everywhere else in the world Scarcliffe woods (and brook) Derbyshire Grandma's bungalow, Bolsover, Derbyshire Viewpoint for Cerne Abbas Giant Chatsworth House, Derbyshire Cube Houses Rotterdam
I’m in my early 50s and have, since childhood, been terrified of aliens (the proper grey ones) and runaway capitalism. So far the aliens haven’t got me… PS - Marek, let me know if you ever do any walks in The Cotswolds. Aliens permitting, I’ll make you a cuppa.
I was planning to do the Cotswolds this year. Then I found out the prices of B&Bs. Ha, I will let you know. Meanwhile I have just finished reading War of the Worlds. I thoroughly enjoyed it.
@@cdwc For what it’s worth, we have a spare room in our council bungalow in Moreton-in-Marsh to which you’re more than welcome. All we need do is clear out the clutter and inflate the guest bed, so give us a few days’ notice lol
@@cdwc War Of The Worlds is a great story but it didn’t scare me. However, show me the cover of Communion by Whitley Streiber and I’m a jibbering wreck 😂
would love to join you on a walk one day on the isle of wight - i thought i was a very cool dude until i saw the sunglasses version now i have lost my coolness confidence
Scarred for Life is brilliant, just watching some of the stuff they used to show us as kids explains a lot! Two of my favourite walking places ever would be Ingleton Waterfalls trail and Hardcastle Crags in Hebden Bridge.
I did not know about the Ingleton Waterfalls. I have just looked at pictures of it on google very nice. I don't know why the sound of rushing water is so soothing. Maybe it has something to do with a hot bath.
@@cdwc haha could be! Joking aside, I always enjoy a good waterfall. I find it quite a visceral experience being close to such a force of nature. Hot baths come pretty close!
Curiouser and Curiouser said Alice. I have now written two comments on this vid, much the same, and each time they have disappeared piff paff poof 👀👀 Now that IS really scary 👀👀 Very odd and a bit disconcerting. I dare not say anything much this time, but never one to give up, I am just going to say fave place is either Tintagel Castle, alone on a stormy day, at the top of the cliffs, or my go to place Rhylstone Gardens IOW, lonely bench 🪑in the corner with a random Elvis Plaque nearby overlooking Luccombe Chine. You can contemplate and chill...check it out! Love the Strawberry Laces ......hope this comment doesn't do a disappearing act too 😕🙄 Yikes. I shall become known as The Incredible Disappearing Woman 😱 Fab painting of the Pepper Pot Marek & nice to see you pop up on TV recently in the Daisy Mae dark comedy....''Keeeeeeeeep walking'' as they say on Strictly🚶♂🚶💃... xJx
I sometimes write replies to people and then go back and they have disappeared. I don't know if it is a TH-cam glitch or an internet one. all this talk of strawberry laces has made me want to eat a back. Tescos have stopped doing their 3 for £1 offer and now they are 50 each. A 50% price hike! I will look out for the Elvis plaque
@@cdwc Hmmmmmmm.....You couldn't get anyone less controversial than me!!! So goodness knows why the ''powers that be'' deleted two comments in a row from me! Glad this one made it through at last tho! Ooooh yes, do go and look out for the Elvis Plaque...it gets a little bit more faded though each time I go, but it's the bench & view I really go for and love. I know you like quiet places to eat your STRAWBERRY LACES (even if they have gone up in price ⬆)...eat them one by one to make them last longer! And hope there's not a convention of Elvis fans 👨❤👨👩❤👩 who suddenly turn up there singing ''Viva Las Vegas'' to view the Plaque on the day you go! x J x
@@cdwcOMG my second comment has suddenly materialised out of the blue...no doubt my first one will turn up at some point too. I know I often drive people mad repeating myself, but this is getting quite ridiculous! So sorry! Any excuse to use that new strawberry lace emoji anyway....
The tonal quality of your piano recital was particularly impressive. Most enjoyable.
I'd love to live by the sea. Those views are utterly beautiful. Nice one.

You must almost be at Mozart level by now. There is one more day of the walk left.
Thanks
Thanks cool dude. Very kind of you.
Public information films.... from exploding handheld fireworks to swimming with the grim reaper. Fun memories😵
One day they will be repackaged as an hour long horror film, and it will be the scariest film of all time.
Lovely scenery. I especially liked the Pepperpot rocketship, although it might not be airtight.
I secretly hope that the Pepperpot is really an ancient spaceship.
Marek,my favourite place in the world is Isle of Wight. I would love to live there at some point, in Bembridge 😍
The Isle of WIght is very pretty. Bembridge is sadly slowly being taken over by second homeowners and overdevelopment by greedy property developers.

I loved the Ladybird books The magic porridge pot and The enormous turnip 🙂

Awww yeah, the enormous turnip! Another one of my favs!! 🤗

“I thought of shouting a-hoy when I saw it, but then I’d hate myself.” 😆

Point Cabrillo in Mendocino, California; it has a unique coastal village, lots of trails & seals & sea lions & whales if you go in the spring. While there, you can take Orr Springs Road from Ukiah and stop for a soak in the natural hot springs, then see the world's tallest trees in Montgomery Woods State Nature Reserve....
This sounds like a fantastic trip. Whales, hot springs and giant redwoods! I will have to save up.
One day I would like to visit Alaska. Also I am a bit scared that it might be full of bears and murderers.
@@cdwc It's the wolves you've gotta be careful of. 🐺
You are right about The Boy from Space. th-cam.com/video/5zIbEoGRt-Q/w-d-xo.html
I remember it and Dark Towers. Derek Griffiths doing some excellent singing.
@@cdwc I don't remember Dark Towers at all, but googling it now it's definitely something I _should_ remember. Maybe my brain found it too traumatic..
Damn it, I trusted you Bob Nutz!
One day I hope to visit the Grand Canyon, hopefully before I am too tired to walk down and up it.
The Weirdstone of Brisingamen, I remember being told/read this story in junior school, It has stuck with me all this time, but I remember so little about it.
I had not heard of that book. They did a 50th anniversary reprint so you can probably get hold of a copy.
@@cdwc I might just get a copy. Would be interesting to read it again after 40 years
Nice one. Favorite place is Letchworth State Park. I seem to have lost my Cool Dude emoji's - will have to figure that out!
Oh now. For some reason the emojis don't appear on tablets I think. I don't know.
@@cdwc got it - my card number changed - so hopefully, I can keep my cool dude's number when I update it!
Favourite places in the world:
- Godshill IoW - childhood memories
- Sennen Cove in Cornwall - absolutely gorgeous spot, but go out of summer season.
- Minack Theatre in Cornwall on a stormy day, stunning
- Santorini
I would love to go and see something at the Minack Theatre.
Maybe don't watch the Dramarama last thing before a week at work. Also 'Just say no.'
My favourite places are hengistbury head near christchurch and southbourne, st. Catherine's hill in Christchurch, ramsdown hill near Hurn village
Excellent cool dude. I might be able to get to the Christchurch one.
The giant earwig at 03:30 is gonna have your laces!
Also out of interest do you ration the laces out over the walk? Or do you role them into a ball and eat them like an apple?
I eat the whole pack in three delicious mouthfuls.
Another fine walk. My favourite place is St Ives, many a childhood holiday there with my family and Aunt, Uncle and cousins. Great memories.
As a young child I was scared by a Jack in the box which made the most awful noise, pushing it down made it scream that used to terrify me.
I went to St. Ives on holiday a few years ago. It is wonderful. I loved the gallery and all the art shops.
Good times. 😬
Ha. I was scared of the Medusa in the 1980s Clash of the Titans film.
I've just just got back from a holiday to Northumberland with cool dude #732 and there are some fantastic walks. We also live on the edge of the peak district and both are great for walks with the spotters handbook
Excelent cool dude. I hope you got some good scores.
That rose sound terrifying. Once you see a scary face in something it is very hard to unsee it.
I remember watching Chocky and finding it really bleak and depressing.
Another excellent traipse through the countryside.
Marek, what will you do when you've run out of IOW walks? Do the walks again - but at night??? 🦉🌛
Ah, the 70s - public information films always scared the hell of me. I once worked with a guy who made PIFs in earlier life - to talk to him, he seemed so rounded and pleasant 😄
The public information films are a work of art!
I need to get a night vision camera to do them at night cool dude.
My favourite place is ‘Sad Hill Cemetery’ in northern Spain, the location of the final scene in ‘The Good, the Bad and the Ugly’ set in a beautiful landscape that has barely changed in the past 50 years.
That sounds like a wonderful place to visit cool dude.
One of my favourite places is St Catherine’s Hill in Winchester. I always feel like I’m going to die by the time I get to the top but it’s peaceful up there with great views
I remember watching Ghostwatch as a kid in the early 90’s. That scared the crap out of me.
I watched Ghostwatch live too. My parents were out so I absolutely shat myself.
I was too young for Ghostwatch but bought the DVD when I was about 20 and couldn’t believe it was actually presented live on the beeb as something “real” - fantastically spooky. I was also freaked out by Blair Witch, although by the time I watched it I knew it was fake
@@nataliebsketching I had to walk home alone in the dark right after watching Blair Witch. I definitely walked faster than usual.
Honestly love watching your videos, you bring up so many memories of childhood + I get to see the I.O.W
Moved to Wales when I was 14.. 41 now 😅 ..but you give me the chance to experience the I.O.W again, think a trip back is long overdue.
Still, Wales is extremely beautiful too, just alot more hilly 🤣 I live in the black mountain range, stunning views if you have the energy to climb one 😀
* edited 3 times because I don't proof read my stuff until after I hit send 🤦♀️ ahah!
Hope you have a great Sunday cool dude 😊
When I did a walk in Ryde for this channel there was a man in the bushes!!!! He was wearing strange clothes. I think I drew a picture of him in the video. Maybe it was the Mars Bar Man!?!
@@cdwc currently binge watching alot of your videos for my Sunday evening relax time 😊
Great vid as always cool dude question is who makes the best strawberry laces?
An excellent question. I think Tesco's, Sainsburys and Morrisons seem to have the same manufacturer. A cool dude sent me some Chewits ones, which are almost like cables.
Lovely use of Peer Gynt at the beginning of this brilliant video. That composition always reminds me of Ren & Stimpy. And it always a pleasure to see a bit of “Yarnbombing” on street furniture too.
My fave local walk is the Itchen Way, best bit is Winchester to Bishopstoke (stopping at Steam Town Brewery for a beer and a burger) and my dream walk would be along the Cinque Terre coastal route in Italy
PS when I was little I was scared of UFOs as I used to watch to many reruns of 50s and 60s sci-fi b-movies on BBC2
Yarnbombing is an excellent term cool dude. I have just finished War of the Worlds. Subsequently I am 28% more scared of UFOs.
A couple of my favourite places are the view across Morecambe Bay from Humphrey Head near Allithwaite in Cumbria, and Curbar Edge in the Hope Valley in Derbyshire
Derbyshire is on my list to visit. I don't think it gets much publicity but everyone I have heard speak of it says it is beautiful.
What looks like a Devil's coach horse beetle scurries by as you show and detail your luncheon, Mr Larwood; is it in the spotter's handbook?
A beetle is in the Spotter's Handbook cool dude.
Nice lunch
I was scared of the movie The Stuff. I didn’t eat yoghurt again for a decade.
That sounds cool man. I will look it up I bet it is not as good as the Children of the Stones though. Ommmmmmmmmmmmmmm!
St. Helens Walk in Tasmania; Thousand steps in the Dandenongs, Victoria, Australia; Florence Italy especially the walk up the hill to the giant David and beyond to the gardens of the church on that hill; Kings Park Western Australia (especially at night) and Rottnest Island.
The Dandenongs is now my favourite name for a place.
My favourite places were mostly in your list 😟 of yours on the Island, however there are many fine views in the county where I live, Derbyshire and I like a lot of Exmoor too and Snowdonia and Yorkshire and Norfolk (I guess I'm easily pleased)
I wish you could get the good views without having to walk up and down the hills.
Silverdale is one of my favourite places given its proximity to my parents' place in Preston so was perfect for day trips on the train. I live in Edinburgh now, which is another of my favourite places. The new emoji scares me
I just googled Silverdale. It looks very pretty. It has it's own Pepperpot too!
There’s a raptor in that yard… 🦖
Dark Towers.
The Boy from Space.
Both frightened the 6/7/8 year old me absolutely stupid.
Mental teachers at primary schools in early 80's to think these were OK.........!
Everyone was terrified of The Boy from Space.
Oh yeah, strawberry laces emoji
Favourite places are:
Ventnor Downs, Newtown and Headon Warren (IoW)
Lulworth Cove, Boscastle, St Ives, Cliffs of Dover, Cotswolds (Mainland UK)
Opoutere, Keri Keri, Dunedin (NZ)
Canmore, Jasper, Grand Beach, Kaslo, Castlegar (Canada)
Adding another emoji (or two) for the sake of it
I never knew that bit was called Headon Warren. It has excellent views.
The ‘boggart’ terrified me…….people we would meet up with every year on holiday at Adgestone told me about it after I had heard snuffling round the tent one night they told me it was a boggart, a vicious half badger half hedgehog creature only found on the island. I believed it for years 😂
I have to look into the Boggart. It sounds great.
Come to Ohio. Nothing like the island but a legit change in scenery! You cam crash here.
I must visit those standing stones, they sound excellent. I went to Avebury recently and I loved it (video of that coming soon).
If you ask about it on the Scarred For Life Facebook page I am sure someone will be able to locate it for you cool dude.
I hope to visit Canada one day soon cool dude.
Love the Pepperpot, just a shame there’s the Mobile Phone Mask ruining the view.........NIce one 👍
I will take it down next time. I think it has the best views on the Island up there.
I'm gonna build a monument to you in Dundee and have the locals pay for it
This is best idea in the whole of 2022.
WIGHT!
@@cdwc so someone either didn’t spell white or right right… sighs!
Green River Lakes in Wyoming, USA.
I have just googled it. Every picture looks stunning.
I am having nightmares about being sucked out of the plane from the seat next to you.
Was that a Devil's Coach Horse top left 3.30?
Yes I think it was cool dude. I did not notice it at the time.
Yes, and Whitwell is pronounced Whittle if you ask the old folk of the Island... 😁
Ooops I did not know Whitwell was Whittle. Thanks so much for getting membership cool dudes. I will be making more videos for TH-cam members soon.
