I typically prefer to sit on the right side of the plane. Both sides have a great view, but during the one large bank to the right, your view continues, whereas if you sit on the left side of the plane, your view will be to the sky. Simply for that reason, I prefer the right. Either way, it's a short decent (only about 10 minutes of flying above the island), and you will have a great view of the mountains and ocean on either side! :-)
Took the same Alaska Airline flight from PDX wow the trade winds caused some turbulence. Not good when they just served all passengers complimentary mai tai drinks!!
I am looking forward to my trip back to Maui after 15-16 years. Will be flying LAX-PDX-OGG-PDX-LAX March 31-April 7th. Where was this aircraft coming from?
@voelker: How was the experience with Alaska Air after all? Does the flight included lunch? I flew Hawaiian to OGG last year in September, this year I was thinking to fly Alaska due to it a bit cheaper.
Flight is usually smooth all the way on a plane until about 10 mins landing in this airport with the Tradewinds it really rocks the crap out the plane.
Best of these I've seen. Really nice. Love hearing the people onboard sounding excited. Hope you enjoyed our island. Mahalo A hui hou kakou.
Thanks for bringing back Paradise!
great video, maui is one amazing island, always look forward to my next trip there!
