You can't get accurate runs with these cars, especially the Camaro unless you are running slicks. The low end Tq. on the camaro just spins the tires if running street tires. You are going to either feather the throttle until you lockup or just spin out.
@@matrox Never raced at the track... But the 16'-18' Camaro SS 8-Speed auto can do the quarter mile at 12.4 at around 114.mph. 0-60 in 4.0. I'm sure it was tested on a prepped track, but I've seen youtubers hit that number on the street. Mustangs do breath better on top end with the DOHC setup. The 3rd gen GT 10-speeds are amazing on low and top end now, 0-60 in 3.9. Quarter mile @ 12.1.
It's a matter of learning how to not spin. Doesn't matter, Mustang will pass him in the first few hundred feet anyhow. One thing I have noticed about GM owners over the years, they are sore losers, and will always blame something.
Sweet my uncles all had 70s mustangs. I totalled a brand new 89 foxbody convertible i got for HS Graduation with help from my old man. It lasted one summer. No one was hurt.
Fords have better transmissions stock. Better weight displacement as well which helps small tires. Chevys w/ all that engine weight need 29 slicks at least. thats where fords smart for using small blocks.

That has to be the worse track I ever seen. Absolutely no traction. What a slippery track. On street tires they should be running 2.0 second 60 foot times. On slicks even faster. My bone stock 95 Formula with 2.73 gears(auto) and street tires was running consistent 2.0 60 foot times and 14.0 at about 99 mph at Great Lakes Dragaway in Union Grove Wisconsin. Nice sticky track in Wisconsin.

That's because the Mustangs and Challengers don't have any limits in power characteristics, and the Camaro has a limit on the Corvette. A Chevrolet will never make a truly powerful Camaro, they will not put on it an engine from, for example, the Corvette ZR1 C7. Despite the fact that the Corvette has less weight and the car itself has better aerodynamics.

Thought these would be faster. My 02 Z28 with a Texas Speed Cam+bolt ons runs faster than alot of these new cars here.
