The poll was for picking the next album we would react to and this little beauty of an album is what came out on top. We generally react track by track and as neither of us had heard this before we didn't know the two were linked as they are seperate on the album. This was a great intro to the album for me either way.

Yep you're right, this is an awesome original piece they use as their own walk-on, and live it is predominantly traditionally followed by Hammer of Wrath. The most popular reacted to version is from Zepp Divercity Tokyo 2020 where Awakening/Hammer was the first encore song. Their first comeback gig on March 11th returning from hiatus at ExTheater Roppongi, Tokyo, they used the same combination to open the show. From the first note, the fans know what is coming, and it never gets old. I'd strongly suggest that when you react to Hammer Of Wrath, if you're planning on using the album version, you begin with Awakening, as the two compositions are a symbiotic entity and it really accentuates the beginning of Hammer. No spoilers for the rest of the album, I'll let you uncover this treasure piece by piece 😆
cheers for the heads up however all of the episodes are already recorded so Hammer is a standalone vid as well, dropping tomorrow. I think we will probably pick up a live version of the two tracks melded into one somewhere down the line, hopefully doesn't spoil that we may have enjoyed the album.
I took it as an introduction to the album however as Hammer comes next I guess it is one in the same. I'm fine with a 2 minute song in fact I certainly have listened to many a song that is shorter. Track 1 did it for me as the appetiser for what is to come.

As awesome as this sounds, it is meant to introduce The Hammer of Wrath. It is too short to really be a stand alone song.
