not underrated at all, it’s just been a long time, but they were one of the highest rated bands back in the 70s and early 80s

It sure has held up well. Me and my neighborhood buddies would play the hell out of this album during the mid- 70's on the large console stereo(remember those things? :) in my parent's basement. My favorite BTO song is Sledgehammer and I always considered their Not Fragile album to be a timeless classic.

Randy Bachman was also in The Guess Who as well as other bands! When I was in the Army stationed at Ft Polk LA, BTO played a nightclub where they used wireless equipment so they were amongst us all on the dance floor letting us sing with them and they danced with us and during breaks they drank and had a great time with us ! We went well past closing time and had such a great night Randy and I hung out so much the girls my crew came with left without us hahaha we walked over 10 miles back to the fort and went out with different girls right in front of the girls that left us the next night hahaha. It was an epic two days and I shall always thank Randy and BTO for a great adventure!

"Not Fragile... ha, ha, ha!" Just so you know... the name of the album was a direct jab at YES' album title "Fragile" which featured a bunch of candy-ass prog music. BTO's music was the exact opposite, hence the album title "Not Fragile". And now you know something. I loved this band in the mid-70's, and still love their music today. Glad you liked the song, too. Another great song I would recoomend you check out is a great Bluesy number called "Blue Collar" from BTO I. Also, two more rockers from that same album are "Stayed Awake All Night" and "Don't Get Yourself In Trouble". Enjoy!

In the 70s we here in Canada were inundated with BTO songs on the radio…so much so that people began to call them Bachman Turner ‘Overdose’…😂. I’m a firm believer that the best BTO songs were, like this one, written by and sung by Fred Turner, not Randy Bachman….Fred knew how to bring it! Try “Roll On Down The Highway” , another Fred Turner song, from this same album.

I grew up through the 50s 60s and 70s on this vast spectrum of music that came out of the romantic feelings of the baby boomers , most concieved after victorious warriors returned home from WW2 and put a lot of bread in the oven. We all came of age through those times running on pheremones and testosterone. Now I'm 75 and the old spark aint so bright but that generation created the best music ever in history. BTOs best IMO was 'Blue Collar', the original should be first and then the one at the 'Roseland Ballroom' when they are alot older but just as hot and amazing as ever

Banger of a song by my hometown boys! 🇨🇦
The Guess Who ( Randy Bachman was part of the band originally)
    BTO
    April Wine
    Triumph
    Rush of course
    The Tragically Hip
    The The Tea Party
    to name a few
The Tea Party is an interesting band. They rock hard and some of their music has a middle eastern vibe. The lead singer Jeff Martin looks and sounds like Jim Morrison of the Doors.
Check out Sister Awake live at Much More Music Toronto by them
    Cheers

My fav BTO song and album. Awesome album with many great songs. Checkout Blue Moanin, Sledgehammer, Rock is my life. Hell checkout the entire album even the instrumental is good! Nobody can belt out lyrics like Fred Turner. IMHO they even do the best House of the Rising Sun version. Also check out Triumph also from Canada. Rik may be the best lead guitarist/singer combo ever. Certainly among the best.

"Welcome Home" has a heavy BTO guitar riff and it ends with a jazz fused instrumental, it is on their second album BTO II. "Flat Broke Love" is another heavy track that hasn't been mentioned, it is on BTO's fourth album Four Wheel Drive.
BTO were originally a country rock band called Brave Belt, the first Brave Belt line up in 1971 was a trio consisting of, Randy Bachman, Chad Allen and Robbie Bachman, the final Brave Belt line up in early 1973 was Randy Bachman, Fred Turner, Tim Bachman and Robbie Bachman. Brave Belt released two albums, Brave Belt (1971) and Brave Belt II (1972), both were released on Reprise Records. Their proposed 1973 album was due to be called Brave Belt III, but after Randy signed a new recording contract with Charlie Fach at Mercury Records and a new name to reflect the bands heavier rock style, the 1973 album was called Bachman-Turner Overdrive.
They took the Overdrive bit from the title of a Canadian truckers magazine.

Canada has a small population, the United Kingdom also has a much smaller population population than the US but much larger than Canada however, per capita, the United Kingdom seems to have given birth to a lot of great rock ‘n’ roll, and after all Canada is a child of England and so is the United States, so much of the credit actually has to go to the United Kingdom because they birthed it all
