Blaster is one of those characters who is underutilized in Transformers media. Yes, Soundwave is awesome, but Blaster is just looks fantastic. I became familiar with him through playing Angry Birds Transformers, and boy do his accessories look amazing. I might redownload Angry Birds Transformers one of these days. Basically, he, Soundwave, and Soundblaster transform into military trucks in that game.
I have a soft spot for Blaster. My folks weren't well off but they still managed to pick this guy up for me. He was my first TF. I'm 46 years old now and he's still in mint condition. Loved his box art too. Great intro by the way George. Made me smile. As did the Run DMC snippet!

I had no idea Walmart was releasing a Blaster until I saw your video. I swung by the next day and picked one up. I have one of his cassettes from when I was a kid but couldn't find or afford Blaster until now.

The intro was on point! I bought this particular G1 Walmart Reissue Blaster 2 days ago from Walmart in Abbeville, Louisiana! Although I still have my 2015 G1 Platinum Edition Blaster and Perceptor that is still in the package. I will definitely be opening up this one from Walmart soon enough though.
Cancelled my walmart pre-order after my wife found the last one at my walmart location doing while doing weekly grocery shop. Not sure whats going on with shipping pre-orders but wasn’t leaving this one behind in case they cancel my order. Lets hope we see more reissues :). Great review.
I know that's right I was not going to rely on my preorder. They just burned me on my Earthrise Sunstreaker and Trailbreaker that never arrived! So I saw it and I grabbed it. And I'm delighted you enjoyed the review.
The head on mine wouldn't stay forward either, so I looked and there was some excess plastic on the front of his neck. Shaved that down and it's perfect!
I know you always use a blade to cut the plastic tie downs but I stole my wife’s cuticle cutter from one of her manicure sets and it works great gets to those hard to reach places lol
Awesome review bro, as I commented in a couple of other videos, this walmart reissue, the 2015 platinum reissue & the 2010 sdcc reissue are the same in terms of using a lighter plastic than the original. The first reissue, the 2005 takara collection book style feels just like the original.
Yeah, sometime last year I opened my platinum reissue and sdcc & said to myself that they felt light compared to what I remembered as a kid. Then I opened my book style reissue that I had put up & never opened & it felt just how I remembered the original.

@@Pokehon yeah he sold out pretty quickly! Compared to the other Wal-Mart reissues Devastator sat on shelves a fraction of the time. And he was the only one not to go no clearance in my area. I saw him pop-up on their website from time to time but when someone posted it on social media he was gone.

Great review. I always also collapsed his legs, it just looks weird with the legs extended. Maybe the instructions got that wrong. Interesting to know that he was a working radio. I found that when you store his rifle on his back when in radio mode, it looks like an antenna. Can't wait to get mine!

We mostly likely never will. Takara lost the mold to some g1 transformers and they have no official releases. Like Sunstreaker, Mirage, Airelbots, Stunticons and yes Reflector. Why Takara/ Hasbro just don't reverse engineer them no one knows!
I was hoping that this reissue of Blaster would have at least one cassette - preferably, a red redeco of Eject/Rewind named Bolts - but when that didn't happen, I had a feeling that his regular cassette crew wouldn't be reissued after all. :-/ By the way, his weapon was known as an Electro Scrambler Gun, and Blaster himself mentioned it at every opportunity in the original TransFormers comics. ;-)
Hah! You played Run-DMC's King of Rock, which just happened to come out in 1985, the same year as this Blaster toy. Was that a coincidence on your part? Picked up G1 Blaster some time last summer. After getting Soundwave a year prior, I was kind of disappointed in comparison. G1 Soundwave was ahead of his time in terms of articulation and accessories, but it feels like Hasbro and Takara kinda took shortcuts when it came time for Blaster. He's still good as far as G1 toys go, so I'm happy I was able to get him.
I had no idea that Blaster was making a 2020 release!🤦🏻♂️ Last time I knew I thought it wasn't gonna be until 2021 when he would come out. Does anyone know of a website that accurately keeps you in the loop of when these reissues come out?🤔🤷🏻♂️ Well I am most definitely gonna head to my local Walmart and see if he is there or not.
Man, if you can ever get your hands on a Takara micro change Raddicasse Robo with the electronics still functioning, I would absolutely love to see that review. I’ve never encountered one with the functioning radio so I sadly don’t know how that sounds. It doesn’t seem like anyone has any reviews on it either.
They always wind up in the discount aisle at my location. Nobody in their right mind would pay insane price for these cheap knockoffs. I got Astrotrain for $9. Soundwave for $25. Starscream for $17 and I missed out the Optimus Prime for $25, that odd missing trailer just irks me. I keep all mine mint in packages, don't take them out to play or display for dusts, LOL.

Im from Youngstown and was able to grab one in Boardman Walmart last week soon as it said available for pickup i ran out there and they had 5...keep checking online where it lets u check local store inventory its under where u locate stores around you

I had the original as a kid, I remember the eject button stopped working, in fact, all the buttons stopped working as if they didn't move at all. I remember trying to pull his chest open & couldn't get it open.
I would think if they were going to release the tapes, that they'd release them at the same time as Blaster just like with Soundwave. As that would be the best time to do that. When I've seen these new Hasbro reissues in the store, I've mostly always passed. As the stickers look real cheap, and so I figured the rest of the figure must be made cheap too. Also I thought they were overpriced for what they were. The only Hasbro reissue I picked up was Bumblebee when it was in the stores promoting that Bumblebee movie. I thought that was a good price at like $10.

The one reissue we all need the most is reflector the 3 robots that form the camera which was a G1 mail order only.
