awesome review patriot prime! Blaster was one of the few G1 figures I had when I was a kid. I remember going to flea markets with my dad and this is one of the ones we picked up.
Loved Blaster back in the day, he was a fun character as you described and growing up he became one of my fave characters and was truly a nice looking toy too which I never owned the original of.
Alas I never owned one back in the day either, I picked this guy up at "Charticon 2013" in Charlotte, NC. I had bought a Encore Twincast a couple of months before but did not like the blue and yellow colors, I wanted...no needed a red and yellow Blaster.
Another great video review, my friend! Also, congratulations, Elisa!! Blaster was such a great character back in the comics (cartoons too, but much more developed in the comics), and such good storylines too! Those first 2 issues he appeared in, were definite inspiration for several of the G3 (Generations) figures we've been able to add into more modern collections...specifically Lord Straxus, aka "Darkmount", and his little buddy Scrounge (who came out in the Hasbro CW Technobots/Computron boxed set as an exclusive (repaint of Cosmos with a new head, because what else are you going to do with the Cosmos mold, lol), which I'm sure you're aware of. (Do you have that Scrounge figure? If so, might be cool to do a review of him, Blaster & the Reprolabels as a thing...) Blaster actually had several of the best (most fun to read) story arcs in the series, before they foolishly axed him. I don't think it's necessary to kill characters off to make room for new ones, especially ones that suck, when you can simply shift them aside or something while dealing with the new stuff. That way, WHEN the eventual need arises for that particular character to help move a story, you just slide him right back into the mix and continue forward without the awkward glitches of, "hey, weren't you dead?", rearing up. Great review, can't wait for more!
Awesome review like always, I have G1 Blaster too.....without the weapon though. Got him from a check cashing place (IKR very odd) way back in 1990, he was only 5 bucks and I could not pass him up. And congrats to the winner.
5:04 "April?" "Yes?" "Why do human beings wanna make themselves deaf?" "I really don't know, Leonardo." "I'm Donatello." Anyway, Blaster is just a real classic figure. You can't go wrong with him. As for the size difference, I'd say that with Soundwave being so superior, it's only fair that Blaster have some sort of "leg-up" on him!
AMAZING REVIEW PATRIOT PRIME!!!!!!!!!! Will you review Twincast next, and maybe Soundwave and Soundblaster, I enjoy all the cassette players. :D Keep up the amazing work you do, and once again thank you for an amazing video. :D
Great, I'd enjoy watching you review Soundblaster, and comparing him with Soundwave. I was wondering will you please watch and comment in my review of my custom Transformers Fall of Cybertron Twincast, it was my first video. :D Thank you for your response Patriot Prime, you are beyond outstanding. :D
Great review, brother. I enjoyed hearing about the character as well. I’m not sure how familiar you are with Takara’s Micro Change pretransformers line but they had actually produced two cool color variants of Blaster that you might find interesting. The original blaster actually has a working radio that was removed when it was brought to the Transformers line. It was very cool to hear the radio clip at the beginning of your review. Thanks for sharing. Cheers M
I remember hearing about that and how you could store ear-buds in Blaster's gun. I was going to show that off but couldn't find any buds that fit. I had recorded my Shout-Out on the radio earlier in the week to share with my wife and that gave me the idea to review Blaster.
Hey, Patriot Prime, what's shaking? Other than this fortress? Patriot Prime, do you read me? The Decepticons are blitzing Autobot City, we're really taking a pounding. Don't know how much longer we can hold out. Blaster is one cool dude. Great review as always. Take care buddy. Roy
Great thing about some Blaster reissues is some got the Twincast chest in place of the standard one. I have one myself and love that he can hold 2 cassettes. I have the KFC cassettes as well to fill out his force of cassettebots.
At the risk of necromancing the comments, I wanted to leave a comment here off the back of your Machine Wars Sandstorm review you just did. Your comment about Machine Wars Sandstorm having all his gimmicks removed and it irking you, reminded me of what happened to Baster in the transition from Microchange to Transformers. I'm not sure in the intervening years since you've done this review, if you've become aware of just how much they gutted MC-21 Radiocassette Robo's gimmicks, to make G1 Blaster, but it makes the gutting which Machine Wars Sandstorm got, look utterly trivial in comparison.
Blaster is a great character and bot, got him in the reissue with perceptor, great review Jason.

The coolest, most rambunctious brick of them all. Simple, but fun.
And your version plays Real American, extra props for being perfectly patriotic. :D

I don't have Twincast but I do have Soundblaster
Patriot Prime Reviews funny thing is that the remolded tape tray Soundblaster has became standard issue for all reissues of Soundwave.

Patriot Prime Reviews The radio shout-out was like a cool Easter Egg for people who know what it’s all about. Just awesome!

In the japanese, his name is broadcast and would later get upgraded and renamed as twin cast.

Great review as always. He is the epitome of the 80s
Did you know that the original Microchange blaster was a WORKING a.m radio
Sure did and the holes in the gun held ear buds. 😉
I wish the toy was still a working radio
Blaster be the man. Great video man!
Hey brother.. Have you heard any word on the Blaster Walmart reissue that's suppose to be coming sometime in 2020?
