Men can compensate for the ugliness of their appearance with success and wealth, but if the child is a girl, there are men who admire ugly girls, so opinions differ from one man to another. This is why ugliness is not a curse
She was pathetic, I always hated Hera, no boundaries, no standards, no self respect, instead of moving on, she took out all of anger, insecurities and jealousy on innocent children who were a sign of Zeus's disrespect for her, she was just an option to him, girl FUCK marriage! Get some self respect and move on! So many women out there like her! Causing their own pain and blaming everyone else but themselves and their man who doesn't care about them 😢
It still confuses me that since she is the goddess of marriage, yet some marriages like Persophone to Hades, was planned by the males. Aphrodite's marriage to Hephaustus was also planned by Zeus. And Artemis was able to stay a virgin, because she got the consent from her father Zeus. Even though Hera is the Goddess of Marriage, Zeus still have the final say on everything including Marriage.
One other telling of Hera throwing Hephaestus from the top of Mt Olympus, he was rescued by Thetis (yes the very same person that freed Zeus during Hera's attempted coup) who took him to the island of Lemnos. There Hephaestus became an accomplished smith and made jewellery for his foster mother Thetis. During a grand party on Olympus, Thetis was adorned in jewellery so magnificent that she outshone every other goddess on Olympus, including Hera. Jealous, the Queen of the Gods demanded Hephaestus make her jewellery of such quality. Hephaestus however, understandably bitter about his mother rejecting him, refused. It wasn't until Hera threatened to make his life miserable that he finally agreed to making his mother a throne of outstanding quality. This throne truly was a marvel but it also had a mechanism that kept Hera chained to it when she sat down on it. Stuck on her new throne and with all the gods of Olympus unable to free their queen, Zeus personally went down to Lemnos and paid Hephaestus a visit. He offered Hephaestus a seat on the Olympian council and even Aphrodite's hand in marriage, in exchange for releasing Hera from the throne and becoming the blacksmith of Olympus.

I understand that Hera's usual epithet was "cow-eyed" (βοῶπις). Which is pretty weird thing to call a person on its own--from a 21st century view anyhow. But ostensibly this was supposed to connote great beauty in antiquity. Which double extra super weird. There is a belief among some scholars that this epithet being used in the Judgment of Paris in the Iliad was evidence that Hera was considered the most beautiful of the three goddesses, not Aphrodite. Which I thought was interesting.

Hera was the goddess of marriage and had the worst marriage ever 😅 I love the way you tell stories!
The only reason they named her the goddess of marriage is because Zeus raped her into a wedding. So there is the patriarchy version for you.
Wonder if it is any different with you
The Olympian royal family putting the fun in dysfunctional
oooooh the fun in dysfunctional. I like that. I like that a lot.
Hera was the goddess of marriage, so every time zeus cheated on her all the children were like a personal insult to her existence as a goddess
Yup
And since she presided over marital affairs it’s not like she could divorce or something !

Hera did not even want to marry Zeus - he forced her into it.
