    The manual I found suggests if equipped with distributor, to time it to #1

    Thank you, the only video thats helpful with the distributor, im working on a miller welder with a inline 4 L head, but the distributor is stuck shaft, doesn’t seem to rotate, but yet the crank and cam rotate fine, also needed info on how to remove the unit it seems stuck in the motor, not even sure where to find the id plate i looked for it but don’t see one

      Spray pb blaster or some kind of penetrating oil around the base of the distributor where it goes into the block.
      Then take a large pair of channel locks or a pipe wrench and grab the base of the distributor and slowly try and rotate it back and forth to break it free.

    Randy...you keep saying the DC mark (on #4 TDC) is in the flywheel window at the same time as the gov/cam marks line up.....on my 1978 blackface sa200....they never line up together ?

    Got a 98 classic lllD TMD27 that start up welds but doesn’t go to low idle any advice would help to check issue?

    Do you hook up wires to the on/off switch or starter button for the positive side of coil

      Yes, use the positive wire coming from the on/off switch and hook it up to the + side of the coil.

    Timing light needs to be on 1, not 4.

      It’s TDC so ….it needs to be in #4…..you would be 180* off if you put it on #1…..😎
