I just installed a dual camera on my 05 FJR1300 and got it on Amazon for $29.95! Much smaller platform. Like 90% smaller! Brand: Pumpa Dual channel, night vision, 170 wide angle
Great videos. I wish I saw this one before ordering my innovv K2. This looks like a far superior product. The quality of the cables and brackets is night and day. No remote and the GPS unit/cable is an extra hassle. Poor research on my part. Any camera is better than none I guess. Strongly recommend the higher FJR windshield. Much quieter. And mirror extenders for bigger guys like me for better view of the rear. Please share more videos. Thanks 😊
Thanks for your comment. I still really like this M1 camera system. I just wished they had it in 4K. I liked their system so much, I actually just ordered their 4K dash cam for my car. I'll likely do an install and review video of that as well. I've heard positive things about the Innovv K2...its still a good camera, but it doesn't have image stabilization. And I don't remember how it performed in low light (night time) situations. As for the higher FJR windshield, LOL...I actually tried it, hated it and sold it after one brief ride to work. I'm used to having some wind in my face and have always gone with a lower windshield. As for mirror extenders...I'm in California...so that means I split lanes A LOT...and having mirror extenders reduces my clearance between vehicles. Good luck with your new camera system...and like you said...any camera system is better than none. :)
Vicki P I use to lane split in Athens, GR and now sit like a duck in traffic in Toronto, CA. You have a very practical mindset and the reason your videos are so helpful. Can I interest you or other FJR owners in a Givi V56 top case? I must have something good that you don’t have! How about a Bagster protective tank cover and tank top? Or, or a pillow attachment for the Givi top case? Quadlock for the phone with, with, with Ram mounts on both sides? And last but not least, grip puppies. And how can anyone live without a motech gps mount that attaches to the tank screws (2 on top). I wish people would list these accessories along with photos on FJR forums, but haven’t seen anything good yet. Definitely will install the handlebar raiser. Keep them coming V!
Great video but unless you missed it the dash trim has to come off to get to the lower screw for the battery cover trim, not sure if she broke it during this video or prior but you can see in the video where the tab has been broken off.
I didn't brake anything on my battery cover trim. I have a 2016 FJR, so the trim covers are a bit different than the older versions (so I've been told). The older FJR's require you to alter the trim piece to avoid removing the dash.
Very nice review and installation guide, thank you! Sad to see 1080p video quality in 2020. Somehow not many motorcycle-specific dashcams to chose from and even the best ones are of not amazing video quality :(
I hear ya!! I think its because motorcycle dash cams are pretty new to the market, and they want to introduce a lower cost product to the public. It was only either this year or late last year when Sena finally came out with a 4K helmet cam / com unit...and Sena's had a 1080 camera helmet cam available for several years. Same with car dash cams...I think 4K just came out last year.
@@vickip thanks for validating my frustrations! :) Seeing what's possible with tiny sensors that are in smartphones we should expect nothing less. Hard to justify paying more than a smartphone price and getting less functions and worse image quality. I'm currently researching on providing on-board-battery power to action cams by wire, but sadly those have overheating issues and cost several hundred bucks each :| This world is not perfect, I guess?.. 🤷♂️
hi vicki, can i ask i,m going to fit one to my xt1200 tenere my tenere fuse box has the 3amp aux fuse as well can i ask did you have any issues after with the camera running off that 3 amp fuse cheers rob
The Thinkware turns off when the bike turns off...so there is no battery drain. If you are asking if I see any issues with my battery while running the Thinkware...the answer is no...battery works great!!
Good full review. I was especially interested in the night vision of this camera. Do the instructions include specific installation of this camera on a Harley-Davidson motorcycle? If not, would there be an online source that would provide it?
The instructions pretty much indicates to wire the power into the accessory fuse...as I did in the video. You can find out from your manual, dealer, or HD forums, which fuse is the accessory fuse if its not labeled on the panel. Everything else, such as wiring is all standard for all bikes. Here is a video online that I found of a M1 that was installed on a HD. The video is not an install video, but just shows where they mounted the cameras on the bike and the camera functions. th-cam.com/video/BTYP2dDWRv0/w-d-xo.html

Apologies , guess after numerous complaints Yamaha did update the part and removed that lower inner bolt that’s on the 2013’s and older. My error!

Can you use "live view" on your phone and record at the same time?
